In the inner city of 's-Hertogenbosch you will find this cozy restaurant not far away from the market square. Its layout and interior is friendly. Enough space between the tables. You don't need to 'climb' to and fro your seat and a confidential talk with your companion(s) is possible. It was full house on a Saturday (21/08/2016) when we entered the place, but we felt very welcome in the way the manager approached us.
We had the strong impression that he's having a good overview on what was going on in his restaurant. He suggested to take place at the bar for having a drink and he notified us that within 15 minutes, a table would become available. On my question what kinds of draft-beers they had, a waitress gave me 2 options but kept quiet about the bottled beers the place could have provided me. A bit minus. Alter 10 minutes another waitress asked us to follow her to our table and the menu-card was given to us. With the help of the torchlight-function on my phone we were able to read the menu.
A basket with bread was being offered, which we accepted. Thereafter we selected as starter: Quartet of fish ("Classic" eel on toast/shrimp salad/smoked salmon with lime, coriander and grapefruit/shrimp croquette with a dill dip).
The main course:
- pork steak (juicy, steak lightly pickled pig with a spicy marinade)
- tuna steak (baked steak of tuna marinated in soy and sesame with fried scallop), a bag of fried fries.
The main course came with a lettuce salad.
All the food was delicious, being excellent presented. According to my lady, the salad could have been better. As she's much more keen on healthy foods than I am, and fabulous in preparing an enormous variety of salads plus dressinga, I take her opinion serious. If that 'green' side dish would have been better, than we will rate this restaurant with 5 stars. So, still something to gain! Whatsoever, we left the restaurant with a satisfied feeling. read more
