The tuna tartare was another standout; the tuna was fresh and paired with couscous, which was such a unique and delightful combination. We also had the ravioli and clam special, which was unfortunately skippable as it didn't quite stand out and the cheese filling wasn't particularly memorable. For the mains, I ordered the gnocchi, which our waiter recommended, and it was a solid choice. The gnocchi were light and pillowy, paired with shrimp for a nice balance of flavor. We also got the tuna tazaki, which was seared beautifully with a nice crisp edge while staying tender inside, simple and delicious. The Chardonnay we had alongside was a lovely white wine that complemented each dish so well, light and refreshing without overpowering the food. Dessert was the perfect finale: a pistachio soufflé special that completely stole the show. The airy texture, the crunch of pistachios, and the raspberry sauce at the bottom came together in the most decadent way it was easily my favorite part of the meal. Overall, between the warm hospitality, the thoughtful wine pairing, and the mix of standout dishes, Il Porticciolo was an enjoyable experience and I'd definitely come back, especially for that pistachio soufflé!

Across the way from this newer place, Bar de Ledo was there forever in Lacona. By the look of the…read moresign, I would imagine that it had been there way before I ever came to the island of Elba. We have been including it in our tour of the island for a little over a decade. Our daughter would swim in the incredibly shallow waters in front and we would enjoy an apertivo (late afternoon drinks). Anyhow, no more, it's closed. We went there last year in June. Never before had I noticed the place across the way, Mom Food Drink & Soul, so we had our apertivo there before the restaurant opened. The mojitos were just as good as the ones we used to dig at Ledo. They came with tortilla chips and salsa, the combination of which is almost unheard of in Italy. I also got into some of the mix of soul classics and hip-hop they were playing. And the bathroom wasn't the melancholy bar bathroom I'm used to in Italy, but a clean new one. It was a sunday and some restaurants on our list were closed. This one here was on our list, it's a bit hiding in the south of the historic center. And it was opened. There were only three tables that day, but it was already past 1pm. The interior is incredibly charming with the stone walls and the wine bottles on the wall. Feels rustic in a very positive way. Two glasses of White wine with. Meat was of good quality, the cheese on the other hand was just average. The Crostini were very good. Nice, fresh, crispy. And all were made by order (you can see inside the kitchen). The one with the liver and the one with the olive topping were our favourites. Staff/owners here were very friendly, made us feel very welcome. There's also a - very nicely done again - bathroom in case you need one. All in all a good choice. Prices for the food were fair, only the Wine prices were a bit steep - 7 Euros a glass. In case you bring your furry best friend with: Dogs are welcome even inside the restaurant.
