Came for my son to get some reps in for baseball. The pitch tempo is way too fast with wildly inconsistent pitches from eyes to toes, with no user ability to adjust. No indicator light to show when ball is coming. Okay to come to to hack around and have fun I guess, but certainly not to work on one's swing. read more

These were the crappiest batting cages I've ever seen, bar none!!! Poorly maintained (or rather, not maintained at all), batting machines that stick, always short-changed on pitches (count them) and pitches that are not often within the legal hitting area. They just seem to take in the cash and never invest any back into the business. They can't have paid much for the land (it's right under hi-voltage Hydro towers...the kind that effect your kids brains...high EMF). If that's not enough, they've once again raised their prices. Disdainful & shameful that they're still operating!!! Don't go there, try Timbercreek or go to Playdium...worth the gas money and your experience will be that much more fun and enriching. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to go to the batting cages again. We were with his cousins so we all went as a small group to play mini putt and hit some balls. Yeah Yeah, I'm not trying to be suggestive. Or am I??? Anyway, we decided to start with mini putt. The courses weren't too different or too challenging compared to the next. Some of the green is bumpy or has been torn causing an uneven playing course. It was a very basic mini putt course. One of the holes was partially shut down. And of course it was the most interesting one where you had to shoot through a large obstruction where it will hopefully end in hole in one. Instead, they just had a downward ramp to the bottom portion of the course. I'm just hoping that since it was nearing end of season, that they'll be repairing all the damages. After mini putt, we all headed to the batting cages. It was even more horrible than the mini putt. We'd put a coin in and we tried 4 different machines, all varying in speed and type of pitch. Every single one either didn't even start at all, would pitch a couple and then stop completely, or the coin box was broken and not even depositing the coin into the slot properly. We had to keep going back and forth talking to an employee every single time. The only reason why I even gave this place 2 stars because of the employee that helped us. He was friendly and apologetic. He gave us replacement coins, stayed in the pitching area to check where the issues are occurring. Since the softball coin box just didn't seem to want to work, he just programmed it so all 4 of us can get a full round each which was really awesome. With all that said though, this wouldn't be a recommendation I would make. read more

I come here all the time with my family. Lots of fun. There's 18 hole mini putt. Each hole is decorated with obstacles and has funny names. They are challenging and fun. There's also batting cages and driving range. There's also volleyball area. There's a snack shop with food and deserts. Prices are pretty good read more

This place is perfect for a date, hanging out with friends or spending time with your family. The mini-golf course is a lot of fun with some specials like Date Night for $20 or a round of mini-golf and a beer for $12. read more

My son loves going mini putting here although the course could really use some updating it is looking really worn out on the putting green and my ball got stuck in the golf hole! read more

Went here for the seasonal end of summer party with the Toronto Zoo.Pickering Playing Fields is a outdoor sports park. It has outdoor volleyball sand courts, mini putt, BATTING CAGES, a driving range and arcade. While everything that night was free I`m sure it`s still a good place to go to have some clean fun. The mini putt course is fairly long with some interesting holes including one made out of a boat and another out of a light house. The arcade is a rip off, just go to the movie theatre, one token is $1.50 or something along those lines. The batting cages were UBER FUN, I`ve actually never been to one, you get to whack the crap out of either softballs or hard balls at a variety of speeds. The fastball wasnt functional when we went (probably because they were worried people might get hurt and they`d be liable) but I`m sure if you go during normal hours it would be up and running. We won free passes for the driving range, mini putt and batting cages so I`ll definately be back. read more

Our family visited and played the mini putt course this past weekend. To say that this experience was terrible would be an understatement. Pickering Playing Fields is obviously not putting their profits back into the business. The course was absolutely dreadful. If you're going to entice families to come to your facility, then at least make an effort to make it playable. The course is falling apart and it looks like what repairs have been instituted were no doubt performed by an individual who really should be doing something else. It not only looks like a dump, but it's also unsafe, for instance: exposed electrical junction boxes, the bottom of golf holes have exposed jagged metal edges, extension cords draped over and running across the site. Everything is broken and worn out. Check out the changes to #12, where plywood, duct tape seem to be the only building materials at hand. Three words to best describe the experience: TOTAL RIP OFF! read more
