The entire facility is reserved for open play and there is also one separate challenge court. I spent time at both. First of all, love the courts. Plenty of space surrounding each court, and plenty of space to lob and/or go for ATPs. They were well spaced out. Didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes to get a game. You'll find folks at all levels. At the challenge court where I spent most of the time, there was a mix of 3.5 - 4.5 level type players but I'm sure it may vary. There is a really big rest area that has ample, plush couches for seating. Bathrooms are very nice and clean which is a plus. Would definitely go back.

At $50 an hour all day, it is a bit overpriced especially since we were there during non prime hours. It was a Tuesday at 1:00 and there were only a few people on one or two other courts. I prefer places that provide reduced pricing for non prime hours. I may be a little spoiled but I was surprised that the floor is not padded. It really makes a difference when your knees don't have to absorb all the impact.

Being the stereotypical Korean, I decided to pick up golf last year and I tried a couple of…read moredifferent instructors before I found Ben, and here's how he is different: 1. He incorporates the mental approach of golf into his lessons, rather than just pointing out how to change my swing. What I mean is that he gets you to be in the right mindset before hitting the ball, which has helped me a lot on the times I would get frustrated. 2. He's all about teaching a natural, fluid swing and not trying force it, rather than trying to kill the ball like I tend to do. This actually helps with not just accuracy but also distance. 3. He teaches useful drills to help your swing, that you can practice both at home or at the range. 4. The way he teaches is very simple and easy to understand. You only think about 1 or 2 things as you try your swing, instead of the list of 10 different things that just overwhelms most beginners. 5. He's really laid back, which I think helped me take in everything he was saying. Sometimes I don't know how he keeps his patience with me when I make the same mistakes over and over. 6. I was CONVINCED that I was pushing some of my shots because I need to adjust my clubs. He could have easily charged me a ton of money to make adjustments and get new shafts, but instead he looked at my swing and showed me that it was the carpenter, not the tools. I'm grateful that he taught me the root of the problem, rather than trying to accommodate for a flawed swing. 7. I frequently email him about different problems I run across during a round (how to hit on an uneven lie, etc) and he's always willing to give really helpful advice. Not many instructors would go out of their way to do that. 8. Grass range! So much better than hitting off mats. Personal story: Before meeting Ben, I knew I was casting the club but previous instructors had all told me it was because I wasn't whipping my hands/wrist fast enough, which really introduced a lot more errors and inconsistency when I tried that. When Ben explained it to me, I didn't really get it at first until I kept practicing the drill he taught me and then a few days later, it made complete sense. Now I understand how to release the club properly and effortlessly every time and that alone was worth the lesson! I can't recommend Ben enough. If you're having trouble with your swing or need club adjustments, you should definitely check him out!

It turns out that Ben is the only PGA instructor in Sunland. Ben is always patient and he explains each step clearly. He has his own teaching method, and a way of assessment. He is very experienced and knows what he is doing. When I was practicing putting one day, he asked me to putt in a direction that looked ridiculous to me. But he is the pro, what can I say?? So I followed his instruction and did exactly what he asked me to do, the ball went in! I recommend 30-minute lessons, because one-hour lessons will make me feel tired and hard to concentrate.

So I always thought I was decent at ping pong. After all, as a physical trainer I've got to be in…read moregood enough shape to keep up, right? Like many people, I grew up playing with friends here and there but then stopped playing. I've decided to start playing again because my goal is to at least make a decent showing against my dad when I visit home this Thanksgiving. A friend of mine had Adam coach him and his co-workers at their office in Santa Monica and couldn't stop talking about how cool Adam is and how much fun they had at their company lessons. I decided to get in touch with Adam and I'll tell you... he really loves ping pong. He encouraged me to do group lessons so that I would have enthusiastic players to play with between our lessons and that it would be fun more fun socially to improve with others. I got 3 friends together for our first group lesson and we were hooked. We got pro paddles and had no idea that we would ever be able to do some of the things we can do now. I've never loved ping pong more than now, and after just 4 lessons my buddies and I destroy all of our friends. Adam will make you love ping pong and you will forget about everything else in life while you are having your lesson with Adam. I've never met someone as knowledgeable, passionate and FUN as Adam. I contacted Adam in August 2015 because my best friend and I had made a bet that I could not beat…read morehim in Table Tennis. We made a bet that there was nothing I could do to beat him in 60 days and the loser would pay for all expenses surf trip to Nicaragua. We set a date to play in 60 days. My friend had been playing recreational table tennis since he was a young whipper snapper and had always made quick work of our friends throughout High School and College. I did hear he was beaten once or twice in College but upon further investigation I found out that he was so drunk that he was playing with a wooden cooking spoon and lost because he passed out on the table. I don't think I've played more than 2 games ever. But I thought 60 days was enough time with some tenacious work ethic and a good coach. Also it's been several years since he's actively played on a regular basis. I thought he might be a bit rusty. My friend had no idea I hired a coach. He never found out till the day of. I met Adam and he introduced me to my first paddle and how to hold it and hit the ball. I immediately started on a 3-4 day per week 2-3 hours per day training schedule. I have been pretty athletic all my life but I was surprised by how much athleticism was needed when I would play. I had a new respect for any professional in the sport. After a grueling 60 days of training we played our match and I beat him 3 games to 1. I had a blast committing myself to something all out for 60 days and without Adam and other people who he introduced me to that helped as well I would not have been able to beat him. Adam is a great coach that is very patient and professional.
