We finally experienced the free Shakespeare performances in Griffith Park, and it was so much more…read morethan just a play--it was a whole summer evening experience. People arrive early with blankets, picnic baskets, snacks, and drinks, creating such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere before the show even begins. A few tips from our experience: There is a large free parking lot, and it's well organized with bright signs leading you all the way to the performance area. Even though it was our first visit, finding the venue wasn't difficult--it just felt like a fun little adventure! Even on a Wednesday, the crowd was surprisingly large, so arriving early is definitely worth it. (Independent Shakespeare Co.) Bring a blanket, but don't forget a small cushion! The performance lasts over two hours, and sitting on the ground can get uncomfortable. If you're bringing folding chairs, please sit toward the back so everyone can enjoy the view. There is a 20-minute intermission, giving you plenty of time to stretch your legs, grab a snack, or refill your tea. It gets much cooler after sunset, so bring a light jacket or something warm to throw over your shoulders. A thermos of hot tea is a great idea too. Feel free to bring food and drinks, but be prepared to share your picnic with a few curious bees and other insects. There is a portable restroom on-site, and if it's locked, the access code is 3343. The production quality really impressed us. Professional lighting, excellent sound, microphones--it honestly felt like watching a performance in a real theater, just under the stars. Video recording isn't allowed during the performance, so you can simply relax and enjoy the moment. The host also shared some exciting news--they're building a brand-new stage nearby, and there's a good chance next season's performances will take place there. We'll definitely be back in August for The Comedy of Errors. If you're looking for one of the most unique free summer experiences in Los Angeles, this is one I highly recommend.

However, if you're looking to do a flat walk or run, the 4 mile loop around the Harding Golf Course is as simple as it can get. It's a dirt path that can feel like beach sand in some areas and can be shaded or in full sun. I enter the Autry Museum Parking lot and park at the south side of the lot near the trail for free. It's across the street from the LA Zoo. I do this walk with a friend that lives in the area. It's not a trail I would drive out of my way for. I've seen people running, with their dogs and even one lady walking on stilts.

This park is one of my favorite parks in Studio City. They have recreation areas and can let you sign up for sports/classes that interests you. Recently, I had taken few classes with couple of their teachers/coaches and they are WONDERFUL! Earlier this morning I went to play tennis with one of my friends. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and to play. We don't keep score. We just like to play and have fun. You can walk, jug, people walk their dogs, kids, they have picnic areas and do a lot of kids birthday parties.. or you can just simply sit in silence and enjoy nature, the sunlight and have a good, peaceful time. Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. When we arrived, staff did not even seem to know our party was happening. The venue was severely understaffed, no one was properly managing our event, and the AC was broken in 95-degree heat. Our guests were crammed into a tiny room, sweating and miserable. The drink situation was appalling. Our package included 70 adult drinks and 20 kids' drinks, yet there were no drink tickets, and at many points there was literally no one manning the drink counter. I have photos showing it empty. Guests were thirsty, K1 could not provide ice, and we had to Uber ice to the party at our expense. Then they charged us for additional drinks as though we had somehow exceeded the 90 already included, which is absurd considering guests could barely get drinks in the first place. No food was served for the first two hours of a three-hour party. The plates and cutlery were cheap, mismatched, and looked like leftovers from another event. Staff accepted my son's cake, failed to communicate that it had arrived, and repeatedly told me it had not been delivered, causing me to wrongly confront the bakery. The sales rep, Bianca Giang, was horrible to deal with--rude, impatient, dismissive and incredibly condescending. At one point she actually said, "I don't know why you don't understand what I am saying." I considered walking away, but we had already paid a $900 deposit. The customer service overall was appalling. Nearly everyone else we dealt with acted as though they were doing us a favor simply by helping us, rather than providing a service we had paid thousands of dollars for. There was no warmth, urgency, ownership, or professionalism. The attitude was dismissive from beginning to end. I spent my entire son's birthday chasing staff, managing food and drinks, buying ice, tracking down the cake, and fixing K1 Speed's mistakes. I did not sit down once. For $3,000, this was disgraceful. K1 Speed was disorganized, understaffed, ill-equipped, and shockingly unprofessional. Save your money. Save yourself the aggravation. Do not trust this place with an important event. We deeply regret hosting our son's birthday here, and I would strongly warn any parent considering it to stay away.

There's something really cool about seeing the sets, props, and production areas up close and realizing how much goes into creating the things we see on screen. We upgraded our tour, and it was definitely worth it! Before the tour, we were treated to snacks, pastries, and drinks. The upgraded experience also included a longer studio tour and lunch at Central Perk Café. As someone who is gluten-free, I was a little disappointed that there weren't many gluten-free options at Central Perk. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out they offered gluten-free hot dog buns! I ordered a hot dog, and it was actually delicious! I knew of George Izay Park in Burbank but never checked it out till recently and I am glad I did. It's so close to Magnolia, Victory, Olive and many busy areas in Burbank, but when you are there it feels so remote. It is so quiet quiet with many trees and birds around, we saw a few woodpackers. It isn't huge but for LA is a pretty big park with many parking options, a few lots and streets. It has a big playground for kids, lawns, many picnic tables and benches, restrooms, water fountains, a recreation room, tennis and basketball courts (among others), a couple of museum, an arts center, a small theater. It is a small world here I didn't know about and it's a world I enjoyed being around. They even have a Starfighter in front (connected with the Burbank Historical museum that's located in the complex) There are some people around, but it isn't crowded, there are shady spots, tall trees. I personally enjoyed the peace, we relaxed with a couple of books and celebrated Valentine's Day with a picnic. Great park with so much to offer, nice to have around for various activities, a pleasant way to enjoy the outdoors.

Ample parking on the street and in the spacious lot (make a turn onto N Griffith Park Dr from Olive). It's one of the cleanest and welcoming LA Parks you'll visit especially in the San Fernando Valley. There's even a city Metro bus stop right in front I take here and/or catch back toward home. I asked when the next available date was to reschedule. Rudolph responded that he would look at the calendar "and hidden dates" and would get back to me as soon as possible. I called the number for the company today and got a voice mail "that we are probably out on the river". I have not received a refund. These are not reliable people to do business with.

This same notion annoys the fools that rush because it reminds them that sometimes running without knowing what is in the dark is not just adreanline chasing but can result in being eaten by a big bad wolf or piranahas. I say all this to give weight to the following contradiction: some people have lived in LA so long that they believe everything has been seen and done, while other longtime Angeleno residents believe that there is still wonder to discover in LA's streets. I kind of settled into the I have seen much of LA, there is little to discover. And then I went to Barnsdall Art Park and i was reminded that LA's beauty is truly never-ending. I have never been to this park, even though I had heard it. And I know this is easily challenged and debunked but I arrrived to this place on the night I should have visited. Because when I went there was a celestial event viewing my stroll: a lunar eclipse. That is why the views were more than stunning, they were uniquely framed by what seemed to be an organge blood moon. But before we get to the moon, I have to discuss the parking situation. I saw an open space in font of the park. But I decided not too park there, LA parking can be weird with its signs. So I entered the park and drove around for about 15 to 20 minutes trying to find a place to park and then I did. It was easy but required patience and not exiting the purpose due to frustration. Patience is watiing, enduring frustration is intention. I walked into the park and the first thing I felt was that the air and sights seemed to be scorching quietly and without menancing intent. Like the air on top felt on fire but the fire did not burn, it was embedded into the early-evening-moment like patches of quilt sown to make two, one of the whole. Then I saw the steps that led to a gorgeous lush scene with those big tall trees that line a palacial walkway to the palace's ornate front door. The same kind of trees that kind of define Greystone Mansion. This was being in nature in a comfortable way. As I continued to walk I discovered the art festival they were holding in August. I am not recalling the name. But, as it was explained to me by a vendor, that it was PBS giving free airtime to folks and people could view the taping. Maybe I am wrong, but it sounded about right. There were also vendors selling items. One of them was selling taped recordings of his podcasts. Very nice market, I know. But he said that him and his partner discussed different funny stories, like for example a hitman was hired to kill some ducks in Florida. And he and his partner would make riffs off that---- one might be, the ducks had their final bill coming. But who listens to tapes anymore? After that I came to the view. There it was, LA in a summer night. It was epic, Like seeing LA for the first time, and feeling its old wonder at the same time. I brought a towel and sat. And sat. There was a wine party going on in the back. But I just sat. And then, 9 to 5 came on, the Dolly Parton song. She recently passed. I have heard Jolene, I have seen Dolly on the Orville, I have seen the billboards that reminded us to see the good in people as Dolly does. Her death struck me. The moment allowed me to cry just a tad. Not really because of Dolly but because the moment allowed for tears to flow when one things about stuff. Meaning that the place was honestly one where reflection became appropriate and easily achieved. The place had serenity and space. Siddharta could teach here and match his name's reputation. I continued to walk and then I saw the sight of the Griffith. One I had seen many times before. But here the Griffting changed its form. I am not sure if it was the summer night but that is what i saw--- a stronhold lt by fire on sticks that was placed on holders that lay on walls. Then I continued to walk and saw the moon over a housed area of LA. The moon was full and it was orange. The houses seemed like villages, lit by candlelight too. I thought if there was a real version of a Halloween town this would be it. I was honored to take a clip because it was a moment scored by happily-eerie moonlight. The majesty of the pictures might just be the result of my latest i-phone. But I would like to think that I witness/captured a moment of LA beauty that was ephemeral in the loveliest way!

I originally came here for a sound bath class (which I couldn't end up finding ), but honestly, I'm so glad I got a little lost because it led me to this beautiful space. The views alone are worth the visit--perfect for catching a peaceful sunset over the city. This is now officially one of my go-to spots for a relaxing day. Whether you want to lay out a blanket for a cute picnic, bring a book and unwind, or gather a few friends to just chill and vibe, this park sets the tone. It's calm, scenic, and has such a refreshing energy. Bonus: you're surrounded by so many great restaurants nearby, so you can easily turn your visit into a full day experience. If you're looking for a low-key, aesthetic spot in LA that feels like a little escape without leaving the city--this is it.
