Ruth and Abdul are truly the sweetest people and consistently go above and beyond. Personal service is just amazing! Pharmacies typically provide good caring service, we know that and we expect that. But Pickwick goes above and beyond! For me, they've questioned Rx for accuracy of dosages and they were correct! They explain how to use and when to use the medications without rushing. And even running the Rx to the car because you can't find parking...wow! That's service. They do NOT rush when you're talking to them on the phone... you have their ears and their time. I came into this pharmacy twice in the same day. The cashier was very friendly and even asked where we were visiting from. I expected the prices to be high since it was in the center of a busy business district but to my surprise, they weren't. Wanted to provide an update to my earlier review just to say how incredibly grateful I am that they have gone above and beyond during the lockdown. I have patronized them for years, partially because they were across from my work downtown. However, I live in Delco. Since the lockdown, they have mailed me my prescriptions, and it's been seamless. As a matter of fact, with the mail being terrible just now during the Christmas holiday they actually drove my scripts out to me!! I love this pharmacy - they have a huge selection, including the sunscreen my dermatologist recommends that the chain pharmacies don't sell. For the nail polish obsessed like me, they also have a ton of Essie/Opi nail polish colors which are buy 3 get one free. I also just filled a prescription for the first time here - I needed a script that wasn't covered by my insurance so I called around for the best price. CVS had it for $98 and Pickwick had it for $15! Their customer service is great too - so friendly and helpful. read more

When I can, I like to support small businesses over larger chains, and the service at Pickwick was great. Okay, so my experience there was limited to looking at nail products (needed nail glue). They had a selection of OPI and other brands, and probably fewer items than I could find at CVS; however, the service was awesome. Prices seemed reasonable. I was trying to fix my nail in the store, realized that I needed something sharp and pointy to open the nail glue, and the clerk opened it for me. He even let me keep the sewing needle he used to open it. I highly doubt that a CVS clerk would have done the same for me. Thanks, Pickwick. I love the folks at Pickwick. They are always so nice and they seem to have a good team vibe whenever I go in there. I try to support this place as often as possible, especially because they are independent. They are always there to cure what ails you - and what ails me. In the past few months, I have had a long stretch of headaches. Pickwick was there fully stocked with Aleve to relieve my pain. What don't they have here? They have all your usual stuff, but then they also have nicer products in case you need to run out to grab a quick gift or two. I often check out the clearance section for fancy nail polish on discount. Not into digging in baskets - then check out all of their Essie, Butter, and Opie colors. It is definitley more than any other store around. If you play the lottery, they have one of those machines too. Just note that it is cash only up front and they take plastic in the back with a $5 minimum. read more

Pharmacist did not fill my son's subscription for amoxicillin correctly. It was supposed to be for 10 days. They filled it for 7. When i came back and asked them what I should do, They were very rude and did not even give me a chance to explain the problem. Told me they had other people waiting in line (there was only one person behind me). Even after my doctor called them, they still treated me in a very condescending manner. Gave me a measuring cup as a parting gift, because supposedly, my measuring cup was not 'very accurate' . If you don't want to deal with a Pharmacy that can't fill a prescription properly, and then give you an attitude, then don't use this place. read more

I've patronized Pickwick Pharmacy over the years when I worked nearby and I never had a "real" issue...until recently. I needed a bottle of peroxide and was walking by Pickwick, so I decided to get it there instead of CVS (support small, independent businesses, yeah? Not). When I entered, I looked at the ceiling signage to see which aisle would have the peroxide. First aisle. I found it instantly. So I bent over to pick up a bottle and began inspecting it for an expiration date. As I was inspecting the bottle, a young man who works there saunters into the aisle I was in, stops just short of me and begins looking around at the products in a leisurely way. My first thoughts were, "Is this the cashier? And did he leave his post to follow me? Really?!!!" So I looked over at the cashier area and saw an empty chair behind the counter. Sure enough, he'd left his post to follow me. Now I'm thinking; "Wait a minute. I'm cute. I'm dressed well. My face is BEAT! And he actually thinks I'm going to steal a product that costs less than $2?" So I put the peroxide back on the shelf and stormed passed him in a huff, and out the door. Of course, as I'm walking down the street, I'm thinking of ALL the things I wished I would've said and done. Anywho, because of that, I will never spend another cent at Pickwick Pharmacy. this is a nice, little, independent pharmacy in the heart of the business district in Center City. They seem to have everything you need from a pharmacy, so, why not support this business? It's close to my office. Staff is always nice. They still sell postage stamps for .55, which is convenient and there is a postal service in the1700 Market building to mail your letter.
