One of the best schools in SCV. My daughter has been going for past 2.5 years and she loves it.

SCVi saved my son's school career. This is a truly remarkable place, where the instructors WANT to…read morebe there and the kids come first - not faculty. Students and their families are treated with respect and kindness and, above all, with trust. Such a refreshing, reaffirming environment that allows young people to develop and thrive - not crush their natural curiosity and imagination with relentless messages on conformity. And, amazingly, this public charter school with an incredible curriculum is free! Transferring from a nightmare experience in 7th grade at Rio Norte - where everything is structured to the teacher's benefit, the volume of 'busy work' worksheets assigned daily is mind-numbing, and the default attitude is one of distrust - to the amazing project-based learning and integrated curriculum of SCVi was truly the answer to my prayers for my thoughtful, intelligent son. He had left elementary school as a confident, straight A student who benefited from the school's GATE program for 3 years, but after 1 year at Rio Norte Jr High, being brow-beaten and told by his teachers he was just lazy and not as smart as he thought, his spirit was crushed and he had become hopeless about school. SCVi turned all that around. The transition was a little rocky for him, as he was leaving his friends behind, but the staff and fellow students at SCVi worked hard at making him feel welcome and his contributions were once again valued. By the end of 8th grade, his confidence had returned, as well as his grades, and he'd even stepped into a leadership role in the epic Civil War Re-Enactment capstone project that is a tradition at SCVi. Without SCVi, the path for my gifted 13 year old son could have turned out very badly indeed. He's continued to develop and thrive there through high school, benefited from IB classes and theater, and will graduate next month as a poised, confident young man with broad knowledge and critical life skills. What parent could ask for more for their child? From the bottom of my heart, thank you SCVi!

Horrible school if you want to learn and socialize. Most people already have friend groups, and…read moredon't socialize with new students. Also, the school has a major bullying problem that they have covered up for a while now and only did the bare minimum if pushed to do. If you are not in the main popular friend group, you most likely cant talk to anyone. You'll also most likely be bullied if you don't like whatever the popular kids like, and people always beat each other up, and they do the most minimal punishments. I heard someone who caused a ton of people to bully someone else only got 1 day of ISS for doing that. So yea, i totally recommend not going here

Miss Ann is truly an exceptional teacher. The way she works with Daniel emotionally, with so much patience, care, and understanding, has made such a beautiful difference in his growth. She always keeps open communication with us as parents, which we deeply appreciate. We always know what is happening at school and how we can support Daniel together. We've seen wonderful improvements in Daniel's writing, reading, memory, geography knowledge, and overall confidence. A special thank you as well to Miss Rosemary and Miss Soymia for their care and dedication. They always create such lovely celebrations and special moments for the children. Montessori of Stevenson Ranch truly feels like a caring community, and we're so thankful for everyone there.

Within 2 months of being in her class, she figured out our daughter is left handed, has taught her perfect penmanship over the last year, and she is starting to read. The principal is phenomenal! They really have a great thing going. They have positive behavior implementations. I wouldn't send my kids anywhere else. After a serious situation involving my child, I was disappointed not only by what occurred, but by how it was handled afterward. Instead of feeling supported or taken seriously, we were left feeling dismissed and pushed aside during an already difficult time. There were concerning interactions involving staff that left my child upset and emotionally affected. One of the most upsetting moments was when the principal suggested in front of both parents that our child might be better off switching schools, rather than seeing stronger efforts made to resolve the situation and support the student. We later brought this concern to the superintendent but felt it was not meaningfully addressed or resolved. Overall, communication, accountability, and compassion from both school and district leadership did not meet the expectations we have for a safe and supportive learning environment. I encourage parents to stay involved, ask questions, and advocate strongly for their children if concerns arise.
