Situated in a heavy bar and dining area, it brings elegance into the neighborhood. You can visit their exhibits in-person and also shop online to view their available prints, wearable art and pottery. They have a huge commitment to local fine art, showcasing women artists and artists of color. Diversity matters here and it's so clear in their expansive pieces. As an aspiring collector, I've attended a few events with the Column & Stripe group where we've learned from their awesome staff about building a collection, including making smart art investments. The Harris Stanton is a special Cleveland gallery. I hear they are looking to sell this location, which is sad, because I think they are lovely in every way! They also offer Gallery Services like acquiring, installing, commissioning or appraising your collection. One day when I'm rolling in the dough, I will 200% trust Harris Stanton to curate my collection for me!!

The selection of art work and pieces are sparse but it is a small museum. I visited on a Sunday afternoon in September 2021 with 2 friends. We all enjoyed our time browsing the museum. The staff member that we encountered was helpful. There is an upstairs and a downstairs section. Exhibits are forever changing as in a typical museum so I hope to visit again. Hours are limited and so is parking. A part of Cleveland State University, you can easily see the window display from Euclid Avenue, but don't be deceived. While the doors look locked, you can absolutely enter. This gallery simply shares a door with other businesses located in their building. If it's locked, feel free to buzz, and one of the friendly gallery assistants will let you in. The Galleries consistently hosts some of the most innovative and internationally recognized artists. If anything, you must, at a minimum, stop by for the annual People's Art Show. The People's Art Show is a free, unjuried, uncensored exhibition celebrating creativity, diversity, and imagination. Any artist can contribute, and any person can purchase a piece of artwork directly off the wall. The amount of ingenuity, perspective and originality that sprawls from this exhibit is utterly fascinating. Regardless of the exhibition, you can spend a solid 1-2 hours exploring through this robust gallery. Once you enter, it's surprising how much quality art there is to absorb. The gallery starts in one open room, weaves through a narrow hallway, and expansively opens into another high-ceiling showroom. I have now seen the Cleveland Opera Theater perform in a few contexts including a spring main stage production at the Maltz Performing Arts Center and a free outreach performance in a local park. They also have an "Opera in Alternative Venues" series which I find brilliant. I love the idea of activating unusual spaces with powerful talent, and pairing it with elegant activities like fine dining. Whether you consider yourself an aficionado or a true beginner of opera, COT makes valid strides to make opera accessible. They do this through reasonably priced and often free performances, community programming like Opera Club, and even logistical helpers such as translations during performances. Don't let opera discourage you, give the Cleveland Opera Theater a visit and you will not regret it!
