GO TO THE NEUROSCIENCE CENTER, NOT THIS KANGAROO CLINIC!!! I have been with Dr Gilbert since 1999. 26 years. And today, I got an appointment with the Neuro Center. Dr Gilbert is great but his office staff is the absolute worst. The idiot office manager told me I will be entered as a new patient since I didn't see him last year in person. That was their fault, not mine. So I am done!! I finally had my say about how the staff doesn't bother to help the patients and act like you've interrupted them if you dare ask them something in office. read more

Their letterhead reads "Peachtree Neurological Clinic - a professional corporation" "Professional" yeah, maybe... for the '90s... but nowadays, not so much. It seems like the only current trend that this "doctors group" has embraced are FaceTime appointments and I'm sure that's only due to Covid. Their website looks like a relic from the days of CompuServe and the original MySpace. #sad My PCP suggested I see out a neurological consultation for an issue I've been having for several months. Since Peachtree neurological Clinic is on my (restrictive) insurance plan I chose them and Dr. Gilbert. When making the appointment on the phone I asked if I could have the paperwork mailed to me (since they did not have any type of online forms... surprised?) (See, I frequently take the forms scan them and type them in on my computer... It's much more legible that way) however I was told they don't do that. Why? "We like to keep it real" was the actual answer I got. Yeah real for the 90s. So, ok, mask on, I went in on the day of my appointment in November 2020 ... Their offices are connected and adjacent to Piedmont hospital in Buckhead, however it seems like the doctors group has no actual connection to Piedmont hospital, they certainly don't share the Piedmont online charting system nor any particular innovations other than an office with some computers... real computers can you believe? Parking is difficult and costly in the Piedmont adjacent garage and they don't "validate" for you (of course!) I had my consultation with the doctor after I filled out their paperwork... and it was a waste of time IMHO because he never heard of my symptoms and therefore didn't believe me. He ordered the customary/"go to" MRI and during the time I was waiting to get the MRI appointment (which took several weeks ..."typical") my symptoms got worse. [Insert angry emoji face exclamation!] After the MRI happens, I was able to get a phone consultation with Dr. Gilbert. (Yay?) Then I request a copy of the doctor's notes/evaluation which we all are entitled to as of HIPPA rules. They send me ... the MRI reading (RME) which I already have since that was posted to my Piedmont account. I continue to call to get the doctor's notes from my appointment. NEVER EVER GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EVER!!! You will be sorry! Not to be dramatic but worst service ever. I spent WEEKS trying to get a necessary migraine prescription refilled. The pharmacy even called them. Guess what? They still haven't filled it and as I feared, I now have a migraine with nothing to counteract it. They do not care about you at all. They cannot help you if you call. They don't care if you don't have your medication. They don't care if you have a migraine. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. I cannot stress this enough. I've been calling to schedule an appointment for over a week now based on a referral from my physician. I've left about 10 messages. I finally got a call back, and the lady on the line said "I'm transferring you to the brain tumor center." Before I could say "Uhh no, that's not why I'm calling!!", I was transferred and the call was instantly dropped. I even tried to schedule the appointment in person after my son's pediatrician appointment across the street, but I wasn't allowed in the building with anyone younger than 18. read more

I would give Dr. Serbanescu 5 stars for his patient care. He has my migraines under control, but getting through to get an appointment is another story. When you call for an appointment you have to leave a voice message and they don't call you back. I don't have another medical provider that operates that way. As someone else mentioned in their review, the people at the front desk who "greet" you are RUDE. When I mentioned this to Dr. Serbanescu and his nurse they both said there was nothing they could do about it because they work for Piedmont not him. So sad patient care isn't what it used to be. So now I guess I will have to show up in person to try to change my appointment for my Botox injection because after waiting all day today no one has returned my call from yesterday and they don't seem to care. read more

Dr. Russell is an excellent neurologist and is the man to see if you are a migraine sufferer like me. Things I look for in a doctor: No-nonsense Conservative (isn't going to cut first and ask questions later) Isn't always running late Good bedside manner Remembers you from appointment to appointment Has a personality Doc Russell meets all of these points and I check in with him every 6 months. He has managed to figure out how to manage my migraines with minimal medications, a good plan of action and without me feeling like crap all the time. A+++ in my book. read more

Though my interaction with the front desk was less than stellar, my visit with Dr. Gilbert was great. I think the front desk rep was new, this could possibly be why she came across as rude and confused. She didn't have my information correct though I had provided it prior to the appointment. She kept asking the same thing and at one point I had to raise my voice because she would gesture she couldn't hear me or say "what?" She finally got assistance from another rep who was also unkind. I gave my paperwork to her and she snatched it. Very smooth visit afterwards, thankfully. Dr.Gilbert and his assistant, Elyse were very professional. Elyse was kind and amiable. She did what she needed to do and moved to the next patient. Dr. Gilbert came in and though I hadn't seen him for a few years, clearly read my chart before he came in, so was able to discuss my history in a way that seemed as if he remembered me. This is a sign that he takes very detailed notes which is almost rare these days in the medical field. He listened to my concerns and addressed every single one. Dr. Gilbert knows migraines and can help get them manageable. read more

If I could give no stars I would! Find another practice if you value your life! Not only do they not answer the phone, the canceled my appointment the day of because they said the machine was broken and no one even called to tell me. After they ran test they never called and gave me my results I had to call them and threaten a law suit before I even got a call back. Also when you get your bill you cannot pay online you have to pay by phone or mail and once again they do not answer the phone or return calls unless you threaten a law suit! I am a patient of Dr. Robert W. Gilbert in this office, and I am consistently pleased with the care I receive here. I see Dr. Gilbert for migraines, and initially came to this office about 2 years ago seeking a headache specialist, not just a neurologist. The office also has a pain specialist. I don't ever feel rushed during my appointments, and Dr. Gilbert will listen to all of my questions and concerns. He is willing to try different treatment plans, and doesn't force medication if I'm not comfortable taking it. You can call any hour of any day and speak to a doctor if necessary, and I have received emergency prescriptions on the weekends. The practice has a headache nurse, who can treat particularly bad headaches, which is great for when you don't really need an appointment but need some treatment help. The staff is very helpful, and it's not difficult to get an appointment. I would highly recommend this office, as well as Dr. Gilbert. read more

Dr. Gilbert is the worst doctor I've ever seen. He is pompous and comes across as a jerk. I could actually let THAT go, except that I specifically went to him to try to find a new migrane medicine that was pregnancy safe since I AM actively trying to concieve. He told me he didn't care bc I wasn't pregnant YET and he actually prescribed me a new drug that was a 'class x' (meaning known dangers to developing fetuses). Had I not done my own research, my poor baby would have had serious defects as I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks later. He also would not listen to what I had tried and insisted that things that didn't work for me actually had (how he was inside my head to know if my headache went away is beyond me..). I have never in my life been spoken to so horribly by a doctor before - Dr. Gilbert. I usually see him for migraines, but have recently gone to him for issues with my back. Whenever I expressed to him that my symptoms have gotten worse, he angrily accused me of "changing my story" and spoke to me in the most patronizing way. I told him that if he spent more than 3 minutes with me (my experience every time) and took notes then maybe he would be able to recollect my symptoms from my previous visit. Unless you want a doctor who is arrogant enough to *tell* you what your symptoms are, steer clear of Dr. Gilbert. read more

Dr. Gilbert is a fantastic neurologist. He's truly invested in helping me solve my chronic migraines. He listens well, asks great questions, leans in and really wants to understand. I've worked with him on a few different medications that did not work; he now has prescribed Botox for migraine. His office was closed due to COVID and I couldn't go to my scheduled injections. After a few weeks of really intense pain, I contacted his office to understand if they could refer me to an open doctor elsewhere. Kim called me back within 24 hours to let me know they were meeting with all of the doctors to find a way to reopen safely for migraine injections; within 12 hours she called again to schedule me for the first available appointment. I am SO grateful for their flexibility during COVID. In addition to being a fantastic doctor, their ability to provide care during this time is so appreciated. Dr. Gilbert has a patient in me for life. I read some reviews about the office staff being slow or somewhat difficult at times. This is true; I've had some frustrating experiences in scheduling an MRI, etc. I'd give their office a 3/5, but Dr. Gilbert is truly phenomenal and Kim is wonderful too - worth it! read more

I'm going to have to agree with the other 3 negative reviews on Gilbert. Probably the most impersonal doctor I have ever seen. In and out in about 3 mins. He order an MRI that was suppose to be scheduled in a couple of days. Two weeks later I had a time. This is after calling several times and asking what in the world they were doing. They kept blaming my insurance. Called the insurance company and said they hadn't even filed the claim yet for the review. When I called to confront them on this they said they just got a little behind and sorry. Unbelievable. I could deal with the blah personality of the doctor but I can't deal with his office staff. They are horrible. I mean horrible. The office manager should be fired and probably wouldn't qualify for a shift manager position at McDonalds. If you want to schedule an appointment then you get right through. Anything else its a 50/50 chance they call you back. I had to resort to communication through Faxes what I needed after 3 weeks of calling and playing phone tag with these people. How is this place is business?? Are they all ex -employees of the government? I ended up taking my MRI film and report to someone else. Night and day difference. Will never deal with these people again. Too many better doctor offices out there that can over charge my insurance company than these people. read more

I have seen Dr. Serbanescu 3 times for migraines and for the first time in years they are under control. He does what he says he will, and remembers his patients from one appointment to the next. He did my first botox injections for migraines last month, and I have not had any headaches since. I would definitely recommend him to anybody that has problems with migraines. read more

Do not ever go to this facility. It is a waste of time, money and effort. This has got to be one of the worst offices I've ever had to deal with in my entire life. I've been having major pain from migraines, numbness in my face, I cannot keep food down, and I'm unable to function. I spent in the last month countless hours calling leaving messages and trying to get a nurse to call me back. Not until I call the on-call doctor over the weekend and explain to him my symptoms, does something finally get resolved and I get a phone call Monday. Been after they worked me into an appointment at 7:30 in the morning, when the office isn't even open, to tell them that I blacked out driving from the symptoms I'm having and showed up late. No one will pick up the office phone. They refuse to see me. The front office receptionist was so rude and derogatory, I couldn't even stand there listen to her anymore. You'd be better off checking herself into the ER and dealing with that horrible service to begin with. I would never recommend the facility to anybody. I don't care if you're the best doctor in the world, your office staff is what makes or breakS you.. If you cannot return 7 left messages for a phone call to a patient that you've seen, you have no reason being in business. read more

I have to disagree with Molly. My experience was the exact opposite. Dr. Gilbert was in and out of the office with me so fast I'm not sure he even got a good look at me. He didn't appear to be listening and every suggestion he had to help me were ones I just told him I had already tried moments before he suggested them. The treatment he put me on didn't work and I tried to call his nurse to ask what to do next and it took me calling twice for her to call me back. Then they put me over to the heachache nurse who is more of a heachache than a nurse. She didn't listen either. The only suggestions she had to offer were either extreme or ones that I have already tried. Basically the end result was I could not be helped by Dr. Gilbert and his nurses. BAD experience! I suffered a broken back injury and was told to go see a Neurosurgeon, unfortunately when the doctor (at the hospital) told me that they had me on morphine. I accidentally scheduled myself to see Dr. Seiden at Peachtree Neuro. He walked in, I told him of my situation and he said "You are at the wrong place, you should go see a Neurosurgeon. I was in his office about 4 minutes. I had already paid my $30 co-pay and thought that would be the last I would hear from them. Then I got a bill for $243.17. I called and spoke to their accounting department and eventually to the Dr. himself. I explained I went to him on mistake and that he had realized it within the first minute. He said that he "diagnosed me" as needing a Neurosurgeon and therefore the $243.17 bill stands. I think an intelligent monkey could have done the same thing. This doctor/clinic took advantage of me when I was in pain and not fully aware of what was going on. I highly advise that you stay away from him! read more

I should have heed the initial warning signs when I walked through the doors of this office. The reviews online are what convinced me to try this office. However, when I called to schedule an appt, the scheduler was so rude that I told her I would call back hoping to get a more pleasant person, no luck....only one scheduler. I finally spoke with the Med assist Jill, anticipating a better experience, not to my avail. She was worse. Trying to persist in my optimistic...I moved forward with my appt, when I arrived, the aesthetics of the waiting room was great however, was completely empty (930am). I should have ran for the hills at that time. I guess all of the smart patients got the memo to "stay clear of this particular office". It appeared to be a party in session behind the check in window and the one patient attempting to make a copay was a distraction. Later, after an extensive visit with Dr Russell, he ordered a few tests. The same Med Assist "Jill" later called to schedule my tests (her mannerism was the worst ever, as though she was annoyed that she had to do her job). Long story short....she deliberately delayed my testing by omitting to forward necessary documents to the insurance causing my test to be denied initially. When I called to ask her about it, she was very nonchalant about it. I had to take the initiative to utilize my medical background, do her job, in order to move forward in getting my test done. I mentioned this to my doc and he appeared to be oblivious to it. Don't let the name of this clinic fool you as well. read more

Major disappointment. I had very unpleasant side effects to the medications that I was prescribed. When I called to report this, and called to report this, and called to report this, I was finally speaking to someone who showed no empathy whatsoever. By the way, this was after FOUR days since my original call. I was refered to another doctor. Thanks for giving up on me after one visit Dr Williams! I have to agree with all the negative reviews on Dr Gilbert - He was rude and arrogant and had zero compassion and in this situation the patient was a child - i was horrified at how he spoke too us , and also rushed thru the appt and then charged us 400.00 , his cash price for self pay clients , i don't think its ever appropriate to look at a teen age girl and tell her there is nothing that can be done for you , so deal with it. AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COST! The doctors patient manner was poor (Dr Gilbert), the equipment was not working properly (which is not good when you are getting electric shock treatment), and the staff made TWO billing errors on the same visit. First they said we had paid $40 copayment on the visit when we paid $50. So they continued to bill for $10. We paid that and then discovered the error. We tried to get the $10 back but we only got a large helping of attitude. They couldn't find the $10 payment we had sent although I could see it had cleared our bank. They insisted we needed to send a copy of the check, which cost $15. Ridiculous! read more
