    I was looking for an endodontist at the suggestion of my general dentist. I came across Dr…read more Mickens, and was impressed by all the five star reviews. I thought, "there's no way he's in-network with my insurance."  I can't be that lucky. I was!  From the front desk, to the dental techs, to the Man himself. AMAZING! Dr. Mickens took me through every step from xray, through root canal testing.  I've never had ANY doctor specializing in ANYTHING do this before. I ended up having the procedure a few days later. I thought my case would be a lot more difficult because the tooth had a permanent crown covering it. But Dr. Mickens explained how that wouldn't be a problem for him. He completed the root canal in one visit. That's a first for me. Most times I've had root canals, the doctors never completed in one visit. I thought maybe there was a mandatory wait period between starting and finishing a root canal. Nope. Turns out it's skill level.  It's been four days, and I can bite down on the tooth with very little discomfort. Theres no need for pain meds anymore, either. That's pretty good for me, considering my track record with postoperative dental pain.   You wont find better than Dr. Mickens, or his staff. You'll know it as soon as you step through his office door. You're in good hands.
