For most of my adult life, I have occasionally gotten Sebaceous Cyst that would over time would turn black. I've been assured many times they are benign and post no risk. Over the years, my family doctor would just freeze them off with Liquid Nitrogen and that was that for a couple more years. About a month or two ago, I had an appointment with my family doctor for a senior physical and asked him about freezing them off. He declined saying there were too many and they would probably come back so it would just be a waste of time. This is despite the fact that he has frozen them off in the past. Harmless or not, she hated their appearance and asked if she could make an appointment with her Dermatologist. I finally relented and went to see Lauren Wilson P.A. two weeks ago at this Friday. She concurred that they were harmless, but she did a complete check out and found a suspicious looking mole on my scalp and wanted to do a biopsy. Results of the came back last Thursday and the diagnosis was Precancerous, and the recommended course of action was to freeze it off and monitor it over the course of a year. With the overlap of their numerous locations and getting the medical files in front of the scheduler we finally arrived at an appointment in the Denver Office a week from this Friday. I applaud Ms. Wilson for even though she concurred with the original diagnosis, she took the time to find what was potentially a much more serious condition that was at a stage where it could be treated. read more

As a current patient for many years, I make my yearly checkup for Dr Powell. BUT this year they said she has no appointments till 01/13/2026. This is 11/25/25 and 48 days later is pretty bad when you don't even know what your calendar will be that FAR in advance. I am on a cancellation schedule at least. BUT that doesn't change my problem with such a FAR out date. read more

Over the years, I've been so impressed by the professional staff at PPSD. In particular, the Denver, Cornelius, Huntersville, and Blakeney staff. Professional, friendly, efficient, and caring. The only time I had an issue, it was addressed on the spot in their Blakeney office. I appreciated how Dr.Yanaz, his nurse Ashley, and the front desk team took ownership. The issue was with a different location, but this team jumped in without hesitation. read more

Recently visited Dr Mu for whole body scan. The staff at the Denver office were friendly, thoughtful and respectful of modesty issues. Dr Mu seemed to actually care about me as a patient, not just a number and a pay check. She took time to answer questions and had great bedside manner- much better than my previous dermatologist. She painlessly removed some problem areas and provided good follow-up advice. A new staff member was shadowing her, but was modest and nearly invisible to me during the exam. First time visit to the office in Denver, NC. Dr Euphemia Mu is excellent. I highly recommend her. She has a great bedside manner and is very personable. I was there for a full body skin check. I felt comfortable and informed and will return in one year for an annual checkup. Now days this should be done just like your annual health check-up. read more

If I could give more stars I would. I recently had a procedure done at PPSD and I could not be happier! From the initial phone call I made to the day I left after my checkup, I have had the best experience. I was treated with kindness and respect by a very professional group of people. I first spoke with the surgery coordinator, DeLaynee. She was able to get me an appointment the following week which is basically unheard of. DeLaynee was able to get all of the necessary records and clearances needed and I didn't have to jump through any hoops like a lot of other offices. I met with Dr. Freeman and we discussed my procedure and how it would go. He was very easy to talk with and I felt comfortable asking any questions I had. The nurses and the CRNA were great as well. They took very good care of me throughout this procedure and I could not have been in better hands. I was scheduled to be at the clinic at 7a.m. I was there and a nurse came right out to get me. Immediately everyone got to work doing their part in prepping me for surgery. I didn't wait around for hours which is really nice. Fasting for a surgery and then having it delayed several hours isn't fun but that was not the issue with PPSD. If you have any cosmetic/reconstructive needs I highly recommend PPSD and particularly the super team of DeLaynee and Dr. Freeman! Oh, and one last thing... I could not be happier with the results! I'm looking forward to doing more physical activities and having so much less pain than before this surgery. Thank you PPSD, Dr. Freeman, DeLaynee and all of the rest of the amazing team. I don' like bashing them but its so over crowded. No elevators so after surgery you have to go outside in all kinds of weather to walk though a very small over crowded parking lot to the upstairs to have a site closed. To me that is just not a good idea period. Love the front office staff and most of the assistance in the rooms. Anywhere we go there will always be staff with attitudes. We all have our days, but my biggest complaint and concern is its to big and busy and some doctors are too over confident and myself had to say enough is enough with it all. read more

I came down with a rash on my arm. I called three or four Dermatologist and they have nothing available in the next month or two!!! Waterside Dermatology found time to fit me in! Dr Hoffman was excellent! He took his time and explained what was wrong and my treatment plan. The staff was excellent. I was very impressed and would go back in a heart beat! read more

By far the worst experience of my life. Picture a trash can, throw your money in it, and walk out. The doctor acted so doped up she couldn't think, I waited longer to be seen then the 10 minutes the doctor spent with me. No bedside manner and the staff is not very friendly. What she came up with as my diagnosis was so off the wall and I actually had another provider tell me that was definitely not the case. Also she wanted me on pills for a month. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY LIKE I DID! read more

The visit went well enough and the provider and staff were wonderful. Yet, despite my insistence that I only wanted a visual mole check, they charged me over $200. When I called and used the prompt to speak to someone about billing, their phone system informed me that they had no billing specialist and that I would need to hang up and call back and speak with a receptionist. When I did and was able to ask about a reason for such a high coding, the receptionist asked me if the provider asked me any questions, explaining that that would incur a higher charge. When I finally gave up and tried to pay the bill, I realized that they had no website and had to call back to pay by phone; my only other option would be to mail a check to an address in Maine. The whole thing seemed very homemade/macaroni-and-glitter/sketchy and makes me seriously question the validity of anything the provider told me. I will not go back. I would not recommend to anyone else either. read more

Honestly, this is by far the worst dermatologist I've ever been to. First of off, the office is totally outdated, seriously; they don't even have cabinets to keep their medical supplies in, they were just sitting in containers on the window seal. Second, the room was dirty, and dust was all over the place. As for the Doctor, he is an old, also outdated man. I went in there for a birthmark, I also had a mole that recently came in that I wanted him to look at, he glanced at it for literally a second and said "You'll be fine, that's nothing." The people in the office are just plain weird too. Rude. I seriously don't recommend going here. read more

I made my appointment several weeks in advance with a staff member who was very nice and told me that I was already in their system from a previous visit. The lady at the front desk when I arrived for my appointment (with short pink hair) was extremely rude and basically ignored me when I signed in. I had my insurance card out to give her when she told me to sit down. Later, she called me up and gave me New Patient papers to complete and I told her that they had acknowledged that I was in their system as a returning patient when I made the appointment. She said that didn't sound like something someone who worked there would say (essentially calling me a liar). I gave her my insurance card and she returned it to me saying that I needed a referral and could not be seen today without it. I said that it would have been helpful if someone had told me that, to which she said well I didn't talk to you. She then just walked away and completely ignored me. I told her to cancel my appointment. She didn't even respond. VERY RUDE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN HER MANNERS AND LOOKS. If this is how they receive and treat their patients, no wonder there was no wait for an appointment when other practices generally had a two or three months wait. read more
