The nursing home patients are kept separate from the rehab patients. This cuts down on people wondering from room to room. The rooms are mostly clean, but if a caregiver drops something on the floor, it just most likely will stay there. Housekeeping takes care of that when they come around. I once saw a caregiver take a bag, full of urine, out of a bedside toilet and put it in the trash. Still not as bad as other places. No one I know has been left to sit or lie in their own pee for hours. The weekday staff are excellent. The patients really like them. Especially the PT and OT workers. The weekend staff are another story. Lazy and barely passable. They don't have day to day contact with the patients so don't feel as connected to the patients like the permanent caregivers do. The food varies from excellent to crap. There are no special diets so your diabetic loved one gets the same meal as the cardiac patient. Patients can and do order from GrubHub, etc, but it is delivered to the front desk any may take a while to get to the room. My friend has Amazon delivered to her there. Basically, West Hills is the lesser of two evils.
