DO NOT hire Andrew Hoover to defend you in a criminal case. I hired him with my own money. He has…read moreno idea what he is doing, and he works for the DA and not his clients. He talked a big game but did nothing to back it up. The DA told him things and instead of doing his job to find out if it was true he just went along with it. He has refused to talk to the witnesses the court provided. I gave him 2 other witnesses that he refused to talk to. He gave me advice and recommendations that he knew was bad advice and would hurt me in my case and he made it sound like the advice he gave me was good advice but I was given seconds to make decisions and wasn't able to do any research to see if it was true. He was supposed to take 3 plea deals to the DA and he waited till the absolute last minute to take 1 plea deal to the DA. A plea deal was shoved down my throat and scare tactics were used, it was take this plea deal or go to prison for 6yrs. I had to say I was happy with the way he handled the case even though i wasnt or according to him i would be facing 6yrs in prison because the judge wouldnt accept my plea deal. I have to pay 3 times the value of property that ended up damaged and he did nothing to fight it. If he had actually done his job, done what he said he would do, done what he was asked to do I 100% believe I could have gotten a fair deal of just misdemeanor charges with a low sentence. Instead I have a 3 yr suppervised felony. I will be reporting him to the board and hopefully suing him.
