Not much shade and the grounds get muddy when it rains. Food trucks and beer tents are available during scheduled events. We attended during the inaugural 'AVLFest' and were happy to finally visit this space. We'll certainly go again when it's dry and with chairs and sun umbrella - or after dusk. It is $20/person and $5 for each cooler float. -You will go over to the area to get on the shuttle. It was a little slow but only because they had a huge party to pick up to bring back. -Sky Tubing shuttles you to your starting point, this is where you get your float(s). They have staff members there to connect your float(s) and cooler float, if one was purchased. Then they move the floats around so each person can get in without getting into the water. -It is now time to float away, trip times vary depending on the water level. Our trip lasted 3 hours and you can stop along the way. -When your trip is done staff members will be there to help you get out of the water and a bus will take you back to where you parked. I will have to say my experience with Sky Tubing was way better than it was with Zen Tubing. I highly recommend this company.

Wow - Lake Junaluska has so much to offer…read more Lake Junaluska Outfitters has many amenities including a pool that overlooks the lake and kayaks to rent. There's tennis courts and plenty of parking. This place is incredible! There's a maze, gazebo, bridge for cars to cross from one side of the lake to the other, boardwalk and the most fragrant rose garden lining the sidewalk. The entire paved trail is about 6-7 miles total. Right now, the roses aren't blooming as frequently since it's not the right time, but I was so lucky to still be able to enjoy the few that were! They also planted sunflowers and there are rocking chairs outside one of the buildings, so you can sit back with mountain views & take in the cool weather (64F is much better compared to 108F in Tampa, FL)!

There is a trail that takes you around the full length of the lake, a great way to get in daily steps while sightseeing. It's in the center of a neighborhood with stunning houses. There's a garden along the trail with a variety of flowers and trees. There's a community pool where you can swim daily for a fee, and a place to kayak, canoe, go boating, etc. Great place to take the family, go out with friends, or to spend the day alone in reflection.

This is my favorite Buncombe County River Park. Even though there are no restroom facilities here,…read morethe beauty and serenity of the location more than make up for it. In addition to the various natural dams and rocks in the River, someone has created a little kiddie pool to keep the little ones from floating downstream to Marshall. The river splits with part of it going down a channel to the right, forming walnut island. That little section of the river is just absolutely gorgeous, and the county maintains an easily traversed path the Full length of the island. It could be the perfect location for a small informal wedding, with the bride coming down the path from around the bend, a natural canopy complete with beautiful gurgling sounds of the river flowing over the rocks. The park is equipped with barbecue grills and picnic tables, although the tables look pretty uncomfortable. I suggest bringing your own canvas or folding chairs & blanket if you're going to be here for a while. There is plenty of gorgeous grass, and the park seems to be pretty well maintained. This morning, I saw two people fly fishing, in their waders, as well as a couple more people fishing from a small boat on the river. Really, an idyllic scene. No one else was in the park for the entire 30 minutes we were there, so if you want a little privacy and a gorgeous spot, Walnut Island River Park is the place to go. At least until it gets discovered by the masses.

We stopped in to go hiking because Asheville is known for their hike so we went hiking through the woods looking at the animals seeing the trees it is exploring a big fan of exploring trying to get my family to enjoy it as much as I can but it's tough at times. My kids get tired of walking and they get over it pretty quickly but we still enjoyed it overall quick little fun experimental forest walk that we had. Took some fun pictures had a good time I recommend it for sure
