Animals range from guinea pigs, sheep, goats, ducks, horses, pigs, chickens, cows and donkeys. They also have a small shire horse centre on site. The cafe is clean and tidy with a good range of food and drinks for adults and children and a good selection of warming meals. The staff have always been polite and friendly and eager to educate the children. it's worth checking the website ( http://www.sacrewell.org.uk/index.asp ) as they nearly always have some special event on, be it Lamb racing, Halloween or Christmas specials and the working watermill is used for the odd Bakery days. We have an 18 month old son and we don't want to sit at home. Let's go somewhere with animals, he'll like that. So we look through some brochures we have and we see that about half an hour away from us there is a Farm Park. Now, I've been to a few of these places and although they are on the whole, good places, they can be expensive and messy. We went and when we arrived we were met with a very warm welcome. The staff were all very friendly, chatty and made a big deal out of our son. It was £5.50 each adult with children under 3 getting in for free. Also when you entered, you could buy a bag of feed pellets for 50p, great value and a good idea. We soon got to wandering and our wee boy loved his adventure. There were coy carp and goldfish, pigs with suckling piglets, toy tractors for him to play on, a giant sand pit, peacocks strutting around (yes we did see one display his tail), goats, rabbits lambs you could get into the pen with and pet! There was a play area with a wooden tractor and death slide and a trampoline sunk into the ground -very novel. As we continued round we encountered, alpacas, turkeys, doves, donkeys, more lambs, horses and chipmunks -yes Chipmunks, very cute and very funny. There is a large play barn with some huge slides and a soft play pen. There is a small tea room and crafts on sale. The quality of the crafts was top class and the prices were very affordable for a low income. We bought a hand made wooden mobile for above our son's cot which will also serve for our next child which is on the way. We had a lovely day out. It was busy but not crowded and although it was quite small, it offered a good variety of animals and interactivity. The whole place was spotlessly clean and extremely friendly. The animals themselves were only too keen to be touched and were obviously very well cared for. I would recommend this place to anybody living in Cambridgeshire or Norfolk who are looking for a good activity for them and their family with value for money and a relaxed atmosphere. You could easily spend a morning or afternoon there. As I said, we went on Sunday and they were still open until 5.00pm when usually everywhere else shuts at 4.00. There is a good variety of walks through some great countryside and trails, we only did one of the short ones. West Lodge put on a variety of activities throughout the day including cow-milking, pony grooming, pet the rabbits and ferret racing! You can also take a barrel ride on the back of a tractor every hour, if you can squeeze into the barrels. There are tractor rides round the whole farm which is something well worth doing, though it is about £1 each extra I think. We went on a coldish day that was slightly overcast and there was plenty to do indoors, including a nice not too expensive cafe, an indoor play area for littler children, a painting activity, animal petting etc etc. They also have ride on tractors which they told us would be going under a barn roof so they are suitable year round. The childrens play area was very good with lots of sand and buckets and spades, and some good equipment. If eating in the cafe is not your bag, then we were impressed with the choice of places to picnic, and of course vast open fields too! One of the picnicking areas is next to a small copse with denmaking stuff in, which our children enjoyed. The farm was not massive, it was a really nice friendly size, and not too packed either. We had a lovely, relaxed visit and all enjoyed it loads. A shame you have to exit through the gift shop, but it was reasonably priced stuff and everywhere seems to do this now. We paid £16 for a family ticket, though an annual pass is only £80 and we will seriously consider this in the future.

And then there is a little cafe with an inside playground which is great. They serve food as well as an assortment of cakes and biscuits. Then we had lunch on their restaurant which was great with a varied menu. And afterwards ice cream at their ice cream space. Also when you enter and exit there is a toy shop which your kids will love which also sells useful items like wellies if you come on a day that rains. A great spot: we will definitely return!

Great if you want to keep the kids entertained for a few hours though!

Tickets are quite expensive as are the refreshments when you get inside. There is a seating area for the adults which gives a fairly good view of the huge soft play area so keeping an eye on the kids is not too hard but the seating area is not really big enough and does not tend to be very clean or well looked after. There are several attendants positoned in and around the soft play area who range from those who obviously love their job and working with children to those who are really uninterested which is a bit of concern when childrens safety is at stake especialy on things like the big vertical drop slide.
