This year, their summer art events are "Art of the Garden" at the main gallery and "Cambium Layers II" at the mezzanine gallery. They have events throughout the year, rotating in special exhibits, classes, summer camps, and more. I chatted with the staff working there, and they are always very personable. While the Fresh Paint art festival is relatively modest with the length of two city blocks, the exhibit inside the center makes the drive worthwhile. If I was more of an art creator, I would definitely look into their classes. They have an impressive array from ceramics and clay to digital to glass, and classics like painting, sculpture, and woodcarving. The facility looks new and is very clean. I would recommend them both to shop for art (at front gift shop or during an exhibit period) and for their classes.

What I love most about Pratt is the instructors are not only unbelievably strong technical instructors but also amazing artists. They are patient with fundamentals but never kill the joy of creating. They know when to push for cleaner work, when to let a student experiment, and how to give critique that makes kids want to improve. Over the years they tailored projects to my daughter's interests, introduced new techniques at just the right time, and celebrated progress in a way that built real confidence. The studio feels like a second home to my daughter! After 7 years, my daughter doesn't just do art -- she thinks like an artist. We're so grateful.
