Hello, I'm a truck driver for Thompson,LLC out of Quincy ,IL and today at the pilot #35 I-80 exit 72 ... Address 6424 west Brick rd south bend ,IN. I was very rudely insulted by the manager on duty this evening on 08/19/25 and it wasn't necessary for her to insult me behind a cup of ice ,and I don't not recommend anyone come to this pilot travel center. The place is very filthy on the outside and the shower area is in very poor condition, all of the door handles inside and outside are very nasty to the touch! I do not recommend this place to no one. God bless and safe travels to all. Truck yard is filthy with trash on the ground at all times,followed by poor management. The pictures speaks for themselves. read more

Very dirty, the attendant on duty tried to hustle us said we can use the maintenance laundry room for $10 a pop . He could hardly help us because he was texting and not paying much attention. I would never stop here again, wish I could give no stars cause one is generous. read more

I hate this pilot! It's old and dirty! From the moment you walk in, you will notice trash on the floors. The showers are small and there was hair and trash on the floor. The water didn't get hot and the towel was not clean. Drying myself off I kept noticing hair on me. It was coming out of the towel. This place is a dump. The workers do not do a good job with cleaning. Avoid if possible! read more

*Subway Sandwich* Pilot Travel Center I have eaten at dozens of Subways locally and abroad and the service at Pilot Travel Center was unparalleled- for all the wrong reasons. The family and I were returning home from a vacation and decided to fill up with gas and grab a bite to eat at the subway. Although there was not a single customer the two employees did not appear happy to see us. Never before had I encountered such miserable faces, they were frozen in place on either side of the counter like two surly bookends. Only when I attempted to place an order did they spring into life, "BREAD!?" they asked by polite introduction. I placed my order and asked for the much-advertised Avocado, the woman making my sandwich shot me a look that would have soured a vinegar bottle. She began a surreptitious conversation with her colleague and then dolloped three large spoonfuls of avocado on the sandwich and began to dispassionately nappe the bread all the while muttering to herself and her colleague that she hadn't been told about the Avocado and wasn't sure whether it was 1 spoonful, 2, 3 or 4. She garnished the rest of the sandwich with the same lack of enthusiasm, and I managed to catch snatches of the covert conversation which had now moved on to the subject of their superior and how they planned to "leave it over night and see how she likes it" When it came time to pay, the large, elaborately adorned fingernails of the lead employee tapped on the keyboard as she calculated the total and when I handed her my money she did not reach out to receive it, I looked up at her and noticed her eyes were closed. There she stood for a few awkward moments, like a narcoleptic bullfrog, before finally taking the money without so much as a smile or thank you. There are only a very few that work there that are kind and welcoming. Both mangers on the day shift are awful and treat the truckers horribly. They lie and treat the employees like dirt. This is not the place you wanna go if you have an extra 5 minutes you should go up 31 north to JDs Truck Stop. read more

Most of what other reviewers said did not happen when I went in. Courteous staff, clean restrooms, although the choice of music on the speakers was not the best. Same slightly-overpriced truck stop stuff. Like bottled water. A 24-pack of water for $4 may look OK, but go to a BJs or Sam's Club and get *40* of the same brand/type/size water for the same price. No complaints about Subway, I guess the workers complained about have since moved on. Anyway, I deducted one star for the truck parking lot... Plenty of large potholes on the lot as well as in the parking slots. read more
