When I finally got into grad school at Notre Dame, The Huddle still had a lot of its charm. It now looks like the convenience stores on other college campuses, although it still looks really small, and they still have a quirky selection of, well, everything. The hidden gem of this place is the salad bar. It can be pretty expensive--they charge by weight, so lay off the broccoli and other heavy veggies--but it's oh so good. Melissa (sorry a I didn't get her last name) is always pleasant and extremely helpful in person or on the phone. I've stood in line and know first hand customers can be very rude. Another associate , last name Rieth is also always pleasant. Establishment's like this need to keep store shelves filled, medications on hand, cleaned and maintained, even when short staffed without the benefit of cutting back on products or hours to ease the work load. For that reason alone, and many others, people need to cut them some slack and offer some gratitude.

This town is king of subway locations, that and super walmarts. I went to one down the street on a friday night, CLOSED at 8pm. I went to one in the Superwalmart. CLOSED. I was so enraged for not having my subway that I was ready to kill judging from my road rage. Then by some divine intervention, I was reminded that there is one in this gas station! an angel whispered it into my ear. This one can get busy at times with townies and other off campus students. I won't tell you what I usually get cuz it might sound vomit inducing to you commoners but GUESS WHAT??? It's DELICIOUS!!! and beats my mother's cooking... sometimes my dad's. When I get shots at other places, I always get really nervous about the needles--like how much they hurt. But whenever I go to Walgreen's I can even look at the needles when they put them in my skin. Special shout-outs to Katie and Amy because they are REALLY good at giving shots. I never feel the needles when they do it. (Well, of course, sometimes I feel it.) I recommend you try Walgreen's for all shots! Also, they have a lot of prescriptions--both pills and gummies--making it easy for kids to take them. I've seen the shelves before and I've seen like hundreds of prescriptions. So whenever you need a prescription, just go right to Walgreen's and get it.

Some were in and out. Steady flow. Everyone treated with respect and dignity whether you made a donation or not. Donations are pay what you want. I'm not a coffee drinker but my sister said it's good! I got hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is homemade and I got fresh whipped cream which was also homemade. Delicious! Can you get that at Starbucks? Just asking I wouldn't know. I no longer lived in South Bend but if I did this would be my new spot.
