I used Pimlico Plumbers to fix my front door as the top hinge had broken. On their first visit of about 10 minutes, they said 2 new hinges would have to be ordered and then replaced. This visit cost £168. After several reminders, they finally came two months later. I had been using my back door to leave and enter. During the second visit, the Pim P chap said he needed to go to a timber merchant to get a small piece of wood to align the hinge with the door (which was done lazily). After two hours, the Pim P chap said he had finished the job. I noticed he had only replaced the top hinge. The door was also snagging slightly; probably due to not replacing the wonky bottom hinge as agreed. As I had now clocked up a further £200 or so, I decided to not say anything. I found out later the hinge came with a packer so the trip to the timber merchant was unnecessary. Not only was this done during chargeable time but Pim P also added a markup of 45% as a "handling charge". Charge for the time taken to source materials or add a handling charge but not both, surely? When I complained to customer services they said it was clearly stated on the Pim P website. It does say a handling charge will be added but doesn't mention 45%. So not clear at all. In the end, I bought a second hinge myself and got someone else to do the job. This required removing and repositioning the top hinge to align the door correctly. To be fair to PimP, they did give me a partial refund (even that took 3 weeks) but in the end, all they really did was supply the top hinge (which took 2 months). This cost me about £250. Oh, and they also left an oily stain on my carpet where chap left the old hinge parts.

The intervention related to the blockage of our kitchen sink lasted for 4H for £720... Unfortunately, it happens that the dishwasher (that was working before) is now blocked. Also, the sink is still not working properly. I called them to complain about the whole situation. PP promised customer service department will revert to me in the course of the next 48H. It did not happen. Obviously... read more

Pimlico Plumbers add 20% to all 'estimates' - expect to pay 20% more than stated There is no such thing as fixed price work at PP. They can add 20% to all 'estimates'. Estimates are not quotes, even if negotiated in advance and agreed in writing. Check their terms and conditions word for word. Their terms allow them to add extra charges for labour and materials without notice. My experience of Pimlico Plumbers was terrible. read more

DO NOT USE PIMLICO PLUMBERS!! Booked them to do what we thought were two relatively simple jobs; fix a dripping kitchen tap and fix the toilet flush that was sticking. 2 hours and £260 later, we have had the kitchen tap replaced with an old one that we supplied but tap still dripping and a toilet flush that is still sticking and wasn't even looked at. If you want to pay a plumber expensively by the hour to look at (rather than fix) the issue and not necessarily fix it, go with these guys but otherwise get a plumber that will charge per job and is guaranteed to fix it!! read more

In a word, excellent. Pricey, but excellent. Called them for help on a malfunctioning dishwasher early on a Saturday morning. The very friendly chap on the phone promised a plumber between 8am and 9am but advised that, if it was a fault in the machine, we'd need a technical engineer to fix that. We agreed to have one of each come around, with the engineer set for 11am to 2pm...so we would have time to cancel if the plumber sorted it out. At 0800 sharp Ben G. from Pimlico was at the door, by 0810 he'd determined the H2O supply was OK and we'd need a specialist for the washer. Since he had 50 mins left of the hour he was happy to check on the boiler and water heater and fixed some small nits on that. Some cement and stuff fixed a badly sealed exhaust thingy, and Ben cleaned up like a pro. Took 2 minutes with vacuum cleaner and we'd never know there'd been work done. At 11:32 I received a call from Pimlico HQ advising the engineer was on the way and should be here within the hour. 10 minutes later, Steve P. announced his presence and proceeded to give the washer a thorough checkup. As it turns out, the motor is no more. To quote Monty Python, it's an ex-motor. Steve advised it would not stand resuscitation, and I decided to spring for a new machine. Pimlico sourced and ordered so we'll have a new washer ready for when we return from vacation. Pimlico Plumbers are not cheap, I agree with the other reviewers, but worth every cent (pence?). Of course it was a 'lucky strike' that I needed a new washing machine and they could source it, but why not? Both Ben and Steve are clearly exceptionally qualified professionals and I'll take a pro over a 'handyman' any day. Could I have saved a few coins on sourcing the washer somewhere else and finding someone to do the work? Probably, but what price peace of mind? I hope you never need a plumber but, if you're in London and find yourself in need, call these guys. They're punctual, good at their job, friendly, work clean and efficiently and don't waste time. read more

Initially I had someone from Pimlico out to service an existing dishwasher and they recommended that I get a new machine because they didn't know what was causing a leak. At no time was anything mentioned about the machine being hardwired electrically. This cost £114. I purchased a new machine and called up to request it to be installed. It was a Saturday and I didn't particularly need it done that day but they suggested they could have someone out that afternoon to do the installation so I said OK. They said the rates were higher but at no point did they mention the possibility of an electrician being required. They didn't ask what kind of dishwasher it was - I have no idea about these kind of things but could have checked my documentation before having someone come out if they had asked. I expect this to be an automatic question by so called experts in that field. The plumber then went to the property and called the office saying an electrician was needed, at which point the office called me. I spoke to someone and was unhappy that I hadn't been told there was a possibility of an electrician, particularly because it was on Saturday rates and if I had been told this might be needed I would have scheduled it for a normal day at normal rates. On the phone I was told that there would be an electrician at the property within 20 mintues. I wasn't happy but felt I had no choice. I asked for them to call me when the electrician got there to give me an estimate of the cost. I knew this would incur the 1 hour charge for the plumber and electrician but I felt I would have a choice. This didn't happen. I was called when the work was almost completed. I was charged £732 in total for Saturday. I can't imagine how it would have taken this long to install a dishwasher. I feel that I have been taken advantage from the beginning to the end of this whole process including customer service. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Go with someone else. read more

Pimlico Plumbers charged me a more than 100% markup ABOVE retail price on a new boiler. It was cold January and I trusted their reputable service. They never gave me a quote then presented me with a bill for approx £5000 labour costs and £3000 for a new boiler. When I googled this boiler after I saw I could have purchased it myself as a retail customer for only £1370. They charged me £3000! I was presented with an unitemised bill for £8000+ and they refused to give me explanation for this bill or said they would remove the boiler at 6:30pm on a freezing evening after a week with no heat or hot baths for my kids. They sat down at my kitchen table and made up the numbers to add up to the £8000+ and included more than doubling the price of the boiler above retail! And 3 months later they still refuse to explain or show me how much the boiler costs. They say the plumber is ill, on assignment or they can't locate him. I have never been taken advantage of like this by a merchant. I foolishly trusted their reputation and never imagined they would... Deborah Iliffe read more

The most dishonest business I have ever dealt with in London. Their model is "bait and switch". They use independent contractors who are ONLY motivated to charge as much time as possible. They tell you a price and then bill you 2-3x that amount. They are like car mechanics always "finding" additional work that "must" be done. They usually just do it without approval and charge you and hope you don't fuss. They are unethical pirates. read more

The guy who came round looked like he'd never seen a boiler before. The forceful accounts department demanded an hours pay for 10minutes of him telling me there's nothing he could do. I tried another company who came round and fixed it in 20minutes at less than half the price! read more

When we move house, we started out very pleased to see such a professional-seeming plumbing service in our area. Our first visit from them was prompt and pleasant. The charge seemed high, but our problem appeared to be resolved. Over the years, we have had several emergencies, which have necessitated calling Pimlico, who have always been happy to oblige, though have always over-charged in our view. Unfortunately, the work they have done for us has turned out to be of very poor quality, with many breakdowns, replacements - always with inferior products which haven't lasted - further breakdowns and a string of workmen who have been quite friendly but not competent. Looking back, we have spent a fortune with Pimlico, who are clearly driven by their charging schedule and little else. The 'solutions' they have found, including expensive boiler replacements etc, have mostly failed within a short period. We have finally found another plumbing service which, excellently and efficiently, has fixed everything that has gone wrong, based on doing a proper diagnosis of the problems - not Pimlico shove-anything-in style . This company is a rip-off in eery sense. Don't go near them. read more

Pimlico plumbers are completely useless. They failed to turn up to a job twice - after I had waited in all morning and all afternoon for them. They then had the audacity to suggest that I was at fault because I had needed to call up previously to reschedule an appointment due to my son being ill. The difference is: I call up in advance to let people know when I can't make an appointment, whereas Pimplico plumbers just don't bother to show up. Wasted my time and my money, I hope someone reads this and it saves them the same trouble. read more

very poor service and total rip off! Never use this company again! i called them to fix a flash valve for the toilet for which they charged 260 pounds and six weeks later the same problem occurred again. I called the company to come and check the problem again and they wouldnt come out unless they charge again 100 pounds plus VAT to inspect what they were supposed to have fixed six week ago. I dislike Pimlico Plumbers. They have a tendency to want to fetch materials that they should be carrying on their van and when that happens it's £110 an hour plus the parts. I had a job done today to fix a saniflow toilet. It was done competently but what should have been a 2 hour job ended up at 4 and a half. The net result a £600 bill. This company exploits a gap in the market for people with dire emergencies with no option but to pay up. It is always a chore and never a pleasure to see Pimlico Plumbers read more

3rd time I have used Pimlico Plumbers and I swear I will never use them again. You always end up getting them in the middle of an emergency as they are the only one that can come but not only they are extremely expensive, the plumbers on their books are poorly qualified. for 2 jobs out of 3, I had to call another plumber to rectify their mess. next time I will wait for another day to get someone better and cheaper. Their customer service is also really poor. No warranty on their work even though same issue re-occur in less than a year. Shocking! read more

I can't believe that this place still has so high a reputation. Last week, we had to call these people. We ended up paying £522 over two visits, without really progressing the issue, beyond a stop-gap fix in the first half-hour. Make sure you monitor the time spent on their activities. A pattern emerged of repeat visits to the van, and not bringing the invoice. Given the minimum callout fee there is always going to be a bill so why can they not carry an invoice with them, for example? And beware the 'policies' on the website sound very positive but they are contradicted by the contract. 'Don't pay if you are not happy with the work,' they say online and on the bill, but they will insist on the callout fee (minimum an hour) anyway even if work is abandoned. The plumber took his time unnecessarily long to charge us more. We'll only bill for time spent on work,' they say, but then insist that time going to the van to get an invoice counts as the work itself. He took an half an hour to get the bill(!) The company is clearly overcharging without real justification and we are considering taking legal action now, as they refuse to resolve this issue. Beware! read more

I used Pimlico Plumbers to take a look at a faulty boiler. My tenant met the Service man at 7.30 and he then called me at 8:07 to explain the problem. So I need a new boiler! He wanted to charge £3,800. After 5 calls back to me (I never called him once) he got this down to £3,300. I then called other plumbers in the area and got it easily to £1,200 inc VAT. So I'll use them instead. I got an invoice from Pimlico Plumbers for £228. That is for 40 minutes of diagnostic work. If you want to pay this kind of money and this seems reasonable to you, then by all means use Pimlico Plumbers. The customer service team called me and I tried to negotiate but they just wanted to explain why the charge was justified. 40 minutes work £228 is a rip off. These are facts!!! I have the invoice in front of me as I write this. Phone around, there are better and much much cheaper. Peter read more

Pimlico Plumbers is highly overpriced. They spend way more time then is required for the job and their hourly rates are ridiculous. One plumber went outside to the van for over half an hour and when he came back I saw that he had been checking tinder on his phone. After wasting thousands of pounds for various jobs they could not even write a few sentence email to show that the job was a simple one so we could be compensated for the unnecessary instillation of a washing machine. They wanted to charge 50 pounds for a report. They will squeeze all the money they can out of you. Find a more honest company. read more

Warning!! Do NOT use Pimlico Plumbers. Charged an additional hour by dishonest engineer who offered our tenant to 'use up' the prepaid hour then overran by 20 minutes and then charged a full further hour for work unauthorized by me- AND 40 minutes of that was described as 'putting tools in his van and writing up invoice'!! £150 an hour plus vat for putting tools away and writing up an invoice?! UNBELIEVABLE. Not to mention the fact the engineer then charged me two full hours despite telling the tenant he knew we had already repaid one hour and my confirming it over the phone!! Outrageous! Cannot believe people's dishonestly! I will definitely be supporting independent plumbers in the future. read more

RIP OFF AND UNAUTHORISED CHARGES Take a cold shower, replace your boiler or just book a room in a fancy hotel: that will cost you a lot less anyway! Had an emergency, old boiler not working: called them the night before renting out the property. Long story short: they came a few times, charged me an insane amount of money and even charged a visit they were not supposed to charge as the problem was related to a previous fix they did. So they ended up charging me for something I didn't authorise. Beware, besides charging unreasonable fees they even do without any right. read more

I had a bad enough experience that I would warn against using Pimlico. Long story short -- most expensive in the market and yet poor quality and poor customer service. I initially asked for a full boiler check up before leaving the country for a few months. It was expensive (circa £230) but i felt happy leaving given a "guarantee that the boiler was in full working order". One month later the boiler is leaking and another engineer (also from pimlico plumbers) identified "long standing issues" in the boiler as evidenced by stains and so on. So, at that point £550 in without any repairs even started, and one leaking boiler which Pimlico quote as needing at least another £1k to fix. Despite extensive email back and forth I found no acceptance at all that they totally missed the issue during the first check up. Terrible customer service, entirely unimpressed with the expertise of the plumbers. British Gas by contrast cheaper and so far seem more qualified. Lesson learned. read more

I use Pimlico Plumbers all the time in my home for things like plumbing, electrical repairs, etc., etc., and while they are not cheap, you get a high quality service from non-smoking, punctual, professional chaps who do the job and don't mess you about. I've used them about a dozen times and only had one guy one time I wasn't happy about (he took twice as long as I expected, spent a lot of time on his phone, and was way too chatty and familiar with me). Everyone else they've sent has been tops. I just made sure I asked not to have the chatty slow guy (by name) after he came. Check their website for discounts, etc., to save a few bob. Highly recommended! Only reason I didn't give 5 out of 5 star was the chatty guy who cost me too much money once and because they're not cheap. But they're good. read more
Superb and an absolute pleasure to deal with! Nobody likes paying money for household maintenance and chores, especially when one is totally beholden to what a technical engineer advises. From past experience of boiler service/repair and due to the fact I operate to tight household budgets, Pimlico Plumbers have really impressed me and that takes some f@@king doing! Vaillant serviced my Vaillant boiler last year. My pressure gauge shows zero but it still dispenses hot water. After the advice by Vaillant to rectify boiler pressure to no avail, Vaillant tried to talk me into repairs quotes and direct debits costing nearly 300 Pounds. I replied that the pressure gauge might not just be working, ended the call and phoned Pimlico Plumbers due to the excellent reviews I had read of them. First I booked a service for a few days ahead, then received a phone call from them saying they'd like to come in today. I agreed and on explaining that I didn't get paid until Friday the operator agreed to charge me 100 Pounds inclusive of VAT. Charming engineer from Brighton called Rick. He was honest with me and said that although the boiler was in need of minor repairs, it was perfectly safe and in working order and no extra repairs were strictly necessary. Excellent! He also said, as I thought, that the pressure dial was out of order and not the actual pressure in the boiler. Very well recommended by me. read more

I went with Pimlico Plumbers after a few different different quotes. I thought they would offer me the most professional service due to their reputation. They charged me £120 for the first visit and £170 for the second visit; promising me to include the cost of the visit in the works. They arranged for a visit from Peter, the Installation Manager, (this time no charge!) to cost the service. He promised to give me a quote after 3-4 days but then came back after two weeks in a text message giving me £7500 and said that he still hasn't finished putting the full quote together and that this is only part of it!! This is by far the most unprofessional service I have ever received. I do not recommend this company at all. I believe they make their money by charging ridiculous amounts for useless visits that they not even diagnose the source of the problem. read more

They came to solve an issue we had with a slow flush on a toilet. In the hour that they were they broke the flush completely and then told me they would have to return the following day to take the entire cistern off. This would now take about 4 more hours at £105 + VAT for a problem I didn't have earlier in the day. The toilet is now continually refilling and I am left in a worse situation that needs urgently resolving at further expense. I attempted to come to some kind of compromise over the cost of the work to cap it to 3 hours total but the manager would not agree only offering a 10% discount which I think was unacceptable. Will not be using their services again in the future. read more

I know they probably don't need any further exposure seeing as their 100+ years old marathon running employee Buster keeps them in the news a lot but they really do offer a great service. Yes, they may be on the more expensive side of things but what you get is prompt service from polite employees who really know their stuff and who clean up after themselves. I plumped for them in an emergency and I didn't regret it and have used them since and recommended them to friends and my place of work. read more

Avoid! Supposed to provide a service to fix appliances. Got a guy round to look at an integrated fridge/freezer. Stayed 5 minutes, couldn't identify the model to check whether parts still available and came up with a story that it wouldn't be worth repairing due to the age of the unit. Suggested replacement for £450 when similar and highly-reviewed units start at £269 on the web. Charged me £105 for the privilege! Called up to ask whether it would be possible for someone to come round to install new unit and was told that would be a different serviceman and therefore cost another £100. Service representative told me several times that those were the rules and I should have known that from the start. Fair enough, I did. I am asking for someone to do 15 minutes of actual work for an hour's charge. I can find another way to get this done, but feel sorry for other people in society who maybe more vulnerable who would rely on goodwill of companies like this to get this done without getting ripped off. As the name suggests extortionate fees may be OK for plumbing where there could be an emergency that needs to be fixed quickly. However the company has got too aggressive, using the brand to screw over customers. Only a matter of time before customers realise and go elsewhere. read more

Very inexperienced or incapable? Expensive!!! We had a leak from our bathroom down to the neighbours flat and therefore needed a plumber to arrive as soon as possible. It was fantastic he could come within the hour of calling the company, he was very friendly and did try to investigate the problem for almost an hour. The neighbour and I had suspected a certain issue with the waste pipe but he did not think it was this instead advised the leak was due to poorly fitting sealant around the shower cubicle. I had to go with his "professional" opinion and he spent a couple of hours removing an reapplying this. £297 (almost 3 hours) later the leak of course continued without any change!! He had made no difference at all. We had another plumber come 48 hours later after no change in the leak. He took one look (not knowing what the pimlico plumber had already done) and completely resolved the leak in 20 MINUTES!! It was a connection to the waste pipe. The guy didn't for one second suspect/ check anything to do with the sealant. This is an extremely expensive service considering how obviously inexperienced the gentleman who they sent was. read more

They are awful! Never ever go for them. Worse customer experience ever had in my life, a robbery. My boiler broke down on a Sat evening, I called Pimlico Plumbers for an emergency service and they come, they charged me £250 pounds for half an hour for doing nothing. They couldn't fix my boiler and they said they would had to come on Monday as they didn't have the part, it would have taken about 3 hrs and they will have to charge me again at a hourly rate of £100! I then called another supplier the next day Sunday, they come immediately within an hour, they had the broken part and fixed everything in half an hour and for half of the price! Pimlico also suggested I would really had to go for a new boiler as mine was old (of course they would charge me £3,000 pounds!) - The other supplier said there was really nothing wrong with my boiler and I could still go on with it for many more years! The short of it: I'll never use Pimlico again. If you possibly can, look for what you need elsewhere. Here's why: Pimlico charge high prices: in return, they promise high quality. Sometimes they cannot deliver. (If you look through the reviews you'll find other reviewers who have been bitterly disappointed.). That happens: life's like that. But the real test is what happens when things begin to go wrong. Here a good company would prove its worth. But Pimlico haven't answered messages- their "customer service" department isn't worthy of its name; its staff are absent and haven't engaged more than a fortnight after the work wasn't done. So don't do it. Don't use Pimlico Plumbers. I've paid the high price, and got nothing. (Next step: contest the bill through my credit card: what an unnecessary bore...) read more

Be careful of this company as their quotes are extraordinary (especially for parts). I asked one of their plumbers to quote for some bathroom works, which were fixing a new shower screen, re-sealing round the bath and sticking a loose tile back on. Pimlico Plumbers are absolute crooks - I had a blocked drain, so called them up. They quoted a rate of £170 p/h plus VAT on the basis they'd send a guy with a special power jet machine. I call Pimlico Plumbers again and the response: "we don't guarantee blockages but we can send another plumber out at the same rate of £170 per hour"....I called a local plumber who offered the same service, had all the parts, cleared the blockage and checked with CCTV (which PP didn't do) all for £50 in total! read more

Just to update the below review. I have been contacted by Pimlico Head of Customer Services who listened to my side of the story and offered to refund me the full amount for the wrong engineer being sent out. The plumber who also did my other job has contacted me to say he mis-diagnosed the repair and the cost could either come of the actual repair required or as a refund. My faith in Pimlico's customer service and as a reliable company has been restored. Thus I have updated my rating to 4 Stars. Thanks Pimlico. Been using them on and off for years, always when desperate and my regular trade people are not available. I have a residence and two flats which are let out. My most recent experiences include being sent an appliance repair person when I had requested an electrician, I was only informed he was not an electrician when he said he could not do the work as I would need an electrician, which is why I had requested an electrician in the first place. I was still charged the £130 call out, when I complained about it I was told as an act of good will they would refund me 10% + VAT! Another previous experience they attended a call out to my flat which is tenanted to replace an aqualisa cartridge in the shower. Two call outs and £370 later I was told it would be good for the next 10 years. Tenants complaining the day after call out that problem not resolved. read more

I am going on here just to record how disappointed I have been in Pimlico recently. They have always served me well - expensively, but well - for many years. But in the last few weeks they came to an empty property that I run and while carrying out a gas safety inspection decided to condemn the boiler. They never called to tell me what they had done, or emailed. Instead I was meant to find out from some faint scrawls at the bottom of the gas safety certificate, which was passed (because he had disconnected the boiler!). This started an embarrassing series of callouts that I made to Pimlico, when, guess what, the boiler didn't work when my tenants moved in. Even after a second Pimilico plumber had seen the boiler I was still not informed of what had happened. I would have forgiven them if the customer service had been dealt with properly, but the lady went on the offensive, saying it was my fault for not studying the handwriting in the gas safety certificate they had sent me as a PDF. I felt really very let down as I have been a loyal customer for many years. At the same time they were quoting to charge three hours to fix a toilet with a minor fault, and I thought, really more fool me if I carry on using them. I never normally post to these review sites but I just wanted to this time in case it's useful to the company or others. read more

If I could rate zero I would. After paying 2.5k for a pricey job a small disagreement led to appalling customer service. Do not use this Company. Use a small outfit prepared to be human. read more

Summary: Bit better prices than other similar companies we contacted, fair treatment, good service, were not able to give me the exact hour when they arrive only a time range of up to four hours Why did we call them? When the washing machine in the apartment we are renting broke down less than two months after we moved in, we thought that after persuading our landlord to buy a new one, installing it would be the simplest thing ever. We were wrong. Soon we discovered that our apartment doesn't have any central cock to stop water supply and that most of the many partial valves don't work. Among these not functioning cocks were also the two stop-valves controlling the water supply to the washing machine. That meant any effort to unscrew and attach the water supply hoses to the new washing machine would result in flooding the whole kitchen. As the landlord didn't respond to our inquiries, we decided to act by ourselves (the pile of unwashed laundry in the bathroom was quickly growing). We turned to internet, called a few companies and eventually decided for Pimlico Plumbers. One of the reasons we chose them was that among all the overpriced plumbers of London, these seemed to offer slightly better prices (even though the difference wasn't big). With the added value tax, the price per hour was about 100 pounds during the weekdays, extra charges for the weekend and you also have to pay for any material required. As I work from home most of the time, we arranged for the plumber to come on Monday morning. They weren't able to give me the exact hour, more of a time range, so I had to be on call the whole morning. A friendly guy dressed in a blue uniform arrived at about ten o clock, introduced himself as Bill and started exploring our problem. He stopped after less than 15 minutes and told me to call the landlord. He explained that the valves are not working at all and need to be replaced. To do this, the pipe needs to be frozen. This operation, however would take up to four hours and, as he understood we were only renting the place, the costs should be covered by the landlord. I appreciated his fair treatment. The landlord, however, said, he wants to call his own plumber so I sent Bill away. We left London for Christmas and expected that upon our return two weeks later, the problem would be solved. It wasn't. We called Pimlico again and asked for this particular Bill plumber to come and change our valves. Once again, they weren't able to give us the exact time and once again I had to be on call from 10 am to 2 pm. This time, the plumber arrived quite late. However once here, he changed the valves quite quickly, installed the new washing machine, checked whether everything works and shared his concern that our landlord is a jerk. He finished in two and half hours, which was less than expected. Still it cost us some 300 pounds.... At least, after more than a month, we were finally able to do the laundry. read more

Good workmen but appallingly rude, offensive and aggressive customer service staff. I have now used this company twice. I will never use them again. Unfortunately the second time I used Pimlico Plumbers, the repair carried out on my boiler only lasted for seven weeks before it started leaking again. As I had paid £660 to have the boiler fixed I phoned the company to see if I could get someone to take another look at the boiler. I didn't phone to ask for a refund, nor to complain about the rate charged - I just wanted to get my boiler working properly and I was perfectly happy to pay another call out fee if need be. I received a call back from a lady called Sam, who instead of arranging to get a plumber out to see if the boiler could be repaired again, went straight on to the offensive. She told me that I couldn't get a refund and that the work was not under guarantee. She also told me that paying £660 for a repair to last 7 weeks was totally reasonable. She did however offer to send out a plumber to do an estimate for me to get a new boiler fitted! If you do choose to use this company don't believe the 'Pimlico Promise' and don't expect them to honour any guarantee but do pray that you don't have to deal with their 'customer service' staff. read more

I recently instructed Pimlico Plumbers to come and fix a faulty shower which so far had stumped three other plumbers. I was despondent. Yet another day off work, more money down the plughole.but then John Sayner arrived from Pimlico Plumbers punctual and with a smiling face, he took off his shoes to walk on our carpet and he was really polite and he had a sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble and he didn;t make sucking noises through his teeth like a lot of plumbers. I crossed my fingers that his work would live up to expectations. Could I be so lucky to find a plumber who could do the job and was a pleasure to deal with, surely not! but oh yes, John was FANTASTIC!!! did the job, fixed the problem and cleaned up!! And then when i mentioned that I had a problem with a leaking roof he offered to look at that as well, not only did he find the problem but he fixed it. Of course I had to pay but it saved me so much money because he was on site AND he fixed my bath seal at the same time . Ok it was expensive but worth every penny. Well Done John Sayner you are a gem and a credit to Pimlico Plumbers. Yes I will recommend to anybody great service." read more

I would like to commend you for the excellent service provided by your company in our hour of need. With a boisterous 2 year old and a pregnant wife I was at my wits end with my unreliable combi boiler. A local plumber had patched it up several times, but finally it gave up the ghost I had to replace it. I decided that if the job was worth doing, it was worth doing properly so I contacted Pimlico Plumbers, I was delighted that you were able to supply an engineer (Jeff Brown) on my doorstep within 1/2 hour. He was obviously well trained, experienced and professional. He was able to explain the options cleary to me and instilled great confidence that he'd do a proper job. And so it was. The brand new boiler was installed and working by the following evening. The engineer worked tidily whilst in our home, and did an excellent job of making good at the end of the fitting. He also took the time to explain the workings of the system and to properly complete the paperwork. I will not hesitate to use Pimlico for any plumbing needs in the future, and will certainly recommend your company to friends. Mr Brown is an excellent ambassador for your company. read more

BEST PLUMBER IN LONDON - 4 sure! Maybe even whole of UK.. I had a visit from the ' most senior ' plumber (this is how i requested it) a month ago to give me the tenth plumber opinion what to do about my non functioning second hand (big mistake!!) megaflo vented system (or so?) and radiators that didnt work. The problem is that im part of an ex local council estate and hot water and gas comes from a communal boiler house. Ok way too much info that i wished i never had to know myself even. Bottom line: All plumbers gave me different advice but no one could fix it. Then there came Rob Solari who promised the same but DID FIX IT. And more; he found out the system was connected to the electricity hence my huge electricity bill. I told him i would wait a month to post my review to truly observe if he is the magician he promised to be. One month on it all still works like magic. Pimlico is not cheap but its definitely worth investing in a good plumber (time and moneywise). Rob is a great sweet neat person too which was a nice addition to his excellent brain. read more

This morning at around 10am I came off my scooter on Westminster Bridge Road. One of your staff was driving a Pimlico Plumbers truck with the license plate 'FIX WC' in front of me when the incident happened. Whilst the incident was absolutely no fault of his, he showed great kindness by stopping his vehicle and rushing back to help me. In fact, he was so quick to assist that he was by my side before I knew what had happened. He then proceeded to help me up, get my bike to the kerb and sat me down on a nearby wall. He only left once he know that I was ok. I am writing to you firstly to tell you that you have in your employment a very caring citizen who has given me renewed faith in humanity. Secondly to pass on my heartfelt thanks to this gentleman and to tell him that I really appreciate him stopping to help. This may seem a little over the top to write to you for such a minor incident but please bear in mind that he was the only driver on this busy road to stop and assist. Thanks and keep on employing people like him. read more

I wanted to thank your organization. More specifically I wanted to commend the work of David who has now done three jobs for us. He's an amazing asset to your organization. David's work has always been top quality. The last job he really pulled out all the stops. He managed to do a really neat piece of work on our gutters together with some repairs to damage to our building caused by the gutter problem. I had many other people quote the job and walk away as it looked too complex. Not David, he came up with three options, discussed those with me and we agreed on a preferred route. He then got on doing his usual quality work. He needs to know that the work looks great and it works last downpour our roof managed to drain without any problem. I realise that you are a little more expensive than the competition. However, I have no hesitation in using you or recommending you. I know in the long run the money is well spent.Well done as it not often that one has the chance to commend goodservice." read more

I will defiantly be using Pimlico again! I called PP out due to a small drip from our bath mixer that has been happening for quite a while (we used to mask the dripping noise by hanging a scruffy sponge over the taps) but we finally thought it was time to repair our problem tap! The lady on the phone (who's name I can not remember) was very helpful and told me someone would be able to be there within the hour! Unfortunately I was out at that time so I requested for a later date and it got booked in for between 2-6 with an half an hours notice call before arrival. As promised, at 2:45 I got a call to say the engineer was on the way to me (this was very helpful as I knew just when to expect company). When James arrived he was very polite and helpful, he fixed my drippy tap quickly and also helped me with getting a quote for a whole new referb for my bathroom that I have been thinking to do for quite a while - Now I have my quote I will be sure to call them once I have the money to do so! Thank you! read more

I hired Pimlico to resolve a blocked drainage issue at my home, and my experience has been far from satisfactory. Despite charging more than GBP 600 for their service, the drainage problem reappeared within a few days. When I contacted them for a resolution, I was informed that they don't offer any guarantee for their work and would not fix the problem without an additional fee. This was highly disappointing, given the initial high cost and the expectation of professionalism and a job well done. I am left with a recurring issue, out of pocket, and with the added inconvenience of having to seek out a new plumber to correct the problem. I would not recommend Pimlico based on my experience. read more

Thank goodness for Pimlico Plumbers!! Recently, my boiler broke down during a particularly cold spat. When you think of a domestic boiler breakdown its easy to conjure the nightmare spectre of unsatisfactory workmanship in tandem with a huge bill. But Pimlico Plumbers have restored my faith in humanity and British tradesmen generally. They did a sterling job with minimum mess or disturbance and the price they quoted was the one they stuck to. I was really impressed and would recommend them, without reserve, to anyone looking for plumbers who are reliable, reasonable, dont leave a trail of destruction behind them and have a sound knowledge of their own trade. read more

I was frightened to use them as the price list on their website is rather scary. I used them after phoning a fair few other local companies trying to find someone but getting nowhere. I was at work and needed them to move some gas pipes while the kitchen fitters were in. I called them and amazingly they turned up within a couple hours of my call. The service was excellent with calls beforehand and afterwards. The kitchenfitters said they were very quick and did a good job. I'd definitely use them again for minor work, but for big jobs I'd probably get some quotes from other places too. read more

Had a boiler that was making too much noise so got PImlico plumbers around to check it out. The guy arrived promptly and informed me I needed a replacement part and service (which seemed fair enough) but that it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. Once the part was ordered the guy came back and was good and professional. My main complaint would be that they give you a four hour window in which they will arrive which (if it's 10-2 as it was in my case) is a hefty slug of the day that you have to take off just to wait for the the plumber. Other than that pretty good. read more

Beware of Pimlico! When faced with a leak, I called them. Their plumber advised destroying my bathtub and drilling my neighbor's ceiling, which I later found out was unnecessary. Instead, a friend recommended a competent company, who fixed the issue in under two hours - surprise, the leak was under the bathtub, a full-blown waterfall! This new team skillfully repaired it, left tiles intact, and charged fairly. Pimlico's incompetence cost me around £500, broken tiles, and stress from their unnecessary actions. Don't make my mistake - avoid Pimlico and opt for genuine expertise! read more

Tidy, polite, plumbers comes round at agreed time. Problem solved every time but VERY expensive. Some examples from last two months Over £1800 for a boiler shift (1meter) Over £400 for subsquent repair on boiler hose connector (overtighted during precious work but apparently not under guarantee) Over £400 for a toilet cystern over-flow issue Be aware that engeneer may not have parts to fix problem and will have to go them (and this may take some time). It will difficult to get parts at night. Stay focused on what has been quoted and the amount of time the job should take. read more

Just want to pass on my thanks for delivery an excellent service. Needed to fix taps in the kitchen and attach mains stopcock. Brendan Falsey arrived promptly on time and in a short time was able to locate the mains stopcock no mean feat as over the past decade other plumbers before had tried and failed to locate the main stopcock. Brendan fixed the tap, cleaned up after and provided sound recommendations. No question was ever an issue for Brendan. If this is the level of plumbers Pimlico have then I will not hesitate to use them again. Thanks Brendan & Pimlico." read more

Yesterday I had to calll a plumber as I had a leek in my kitchen, Pimlico Plumbers were recommended to me I cannot express enough what a good job Kevin Lugard did. It was not straight forward as I had a built in kitchen fitted recently and Kevin had to remove parts of units to get the machine out . It had not been installed correctly. The work carried out and was a first class job a true professional and a very good advertistment for your firm. Will definately use you again and would not hesitate to reccomend your company to a friend. Virginia Ross SW15 read more

I'd like to let you know that Tony Kilbryde, who came to sort out my problem with taps and drains today, was absolutely great: polite, friendly, extremely helpful, well informed and I particularly appreciated the fact that rather than taking the easy but much more expensive option which was to drive off and get new taps or new 'insides' he took the time and trouble to get the existing taps to work. If you are looking for someone to demonstrate how to live and breathe the Pimlico Plumber brand Tony is your man. read more

I meant to drop you a line on Monday to say how blown away I was by y our service. All I wanted was my dishwasher packing up first thing on a monday morning with screaming wife and kids but your operator was a breath of fresh air - friendly, professional and got an engineer (Marco Boncimino) to us in 20 mins. My wife was barely back from the school run! I was cynical of PP as you look just too polished. I'm pretty handy myself and know great service when I see it so hats off. read more

Thank You: I came back from a wonderfull Holiday and found that my ceiling had collapsed due to a leak in my loft which in turn soaked into the plasterboard ceiling, than that fell onto my bathroom floor, I was very concerned, but was soon put at ease by a nice lady on the telephone, she arranged for two tradesmen to be at my property within a couple of hours, they soon found the leak and went on to repair the whole ceiling as well, so thank you very much for the time and effort. read more
