So the building mainly houses the BMA and also the sister publishing company, BMJ. It also host some tenant companies as well. There is a great courtyard with a fountain and statues, this holds a lot of history. This is also where the private memorial service for the 7/7 bus victims is held (the number 30 bus explosion was right outside this building) every year. I know the BMA offers up many of its rooms for hire and having had meetings in most of these rooms, it is really a lovely building and set up. The company has hired an in house based catering company who specially does all the food (they are called Baxter Storey) for events and meetings. Overall, this place has a long history, is a good space, great architecture and titbit, Charles Dickens' Blue plaque can be found on this building.

Their selection of films tends to be pretty good, and is far better than Ilford's. Therefore usually you can find something to watch on a Saturday night. One time, I saw they had this preacher dude performing there on a Sunday. Exciting visions of someone shouting 'Praise the Lord' as a disabled person lifted their wheelchair in the air flowed through my mind, but I didn't go to see it. The screens are clean and nice; except for one particular screen which was once a VIP screen or something but is now cold and aged and grimy. Whilst generally I do like this cinema, I have had a few bad experiences here. The main one being that one night their heating had broken, which was annoying as it was a cold night. Fair enough, I figured, heating does occasionally break. It was bad enough that I was being made to watch Sweeney Todd but I would've thought twice if I knew I'd be doing it in arctic conditions. My thinking was that I would get over the big freeze with a nice cup of tea. Or should I say 'a cup of tea'; Cineworld Tea is not known for being great. But it's warm and brown; which is what was needed. Get this; they won't make me tea. The dude on the counter said "sorry, I can't make you tea". I asked why not; and then I got the most baffling response of all time. "I'm not trained". "You're not trained!?!?! What about that guy?" I asked. "It's our first day, we're not trained". "you're not trained on making tea? I'm trained on making tea, can I press the water button?" "no." "This is ridiculous". "I know, it's silly. But we're not allowed". This genuinely happened, I was denied tea due to the staff not being trained in tea making. This is like a grape-picker not pulling no fruit because he hasn't been trained on dismantling the fruit. Ridiculous. So yeah, a definite mark against Cineworld Enfield, I guess it's health & safety gone mad.

The location is a bit of a drag in a large intersection that takes a while to cross the 9 various lanes. The theater is HUGE, with about 18 screens. One thing you have to get used to in England is that tickets for large movies that have just opened, actually have seat numbers. This was quite confusing when seeing Casino Royale, especially when you consider how dark the theaters are. The prices for food and concessions are the same as any theater, though when you consider the exchange rate, its a small fortune. They do have a by-the-kilogram candy area where you can stock up on candies you like. Overall the theater is efficient and reasonably priced, especially with a student discount.

They do sell some nice things, but I feel that the vast quantity of shops they are opening, down grades them slightly. That may just be me being picky, but part of their initial charm was that it felt special and unique, now I cannot help but feel it is just over produced. I have been going to this shop since I was a small child yet every time I go I still find something…read moreabout it that I love. It's a dinky little shop with a bell that rings when a customer arrives. It is one of the smallest shops in the city yet has so much stuff for sale. As the name suggests it sells little gifts, wrapping paper, cards and luxury stationary. It also has some more random things too like mugs, jewellery and joke-shop style gags. It sounds like a bit of a mix-mash of things but if you're in the area it's worth a trip to pick up some lovely cards and gift bags. It always smells like perfume or incense and the ladies working there are very sweet, all older women who are really helpful and pleasant. It's always on my list of places to go on the run up to Christmas and never has the festive queues or elbowing that you get in department stores this time of year.
