This was the reason I chose this school over others in the area. No doubt, it's expensive, but the administration is phenomenal. They are hard-working and always willing to help both the parents and the kids. They communicate effectively and engage constantly with the parents. The owners are outstanding. They are approachable and fully involved in the administrative and managerial aspects of the school. Unfortunately, the kindergarten program at this school is well below expectations. This is due to the unprofessional attitude of the lead teacher. She lacks proper teaching skills, and her attitude towards the children is concerning. She shouts at the kids, and several parents are starting to realize that her actions are damaging and negatively affecting young minds. At times, her tone is threatening, and her behavior does not align with the vision of Goddard School. Simply put, the atmosphere in that class isn't safe for the children, and without delay, the administration must take appropriate corrective actions to stabilize the situation.I am also planning on contacting the Indiana ED to investigate this sensitive matter. For this reason, I am giving the school only 2 stars. I request that the administration proactively look into this situation and work to provide the kindergartners with a safe and secure environment in which they can thrive.

Due to jobs we have done A LOT of travel, and thus multiple states and multiple childcare facilities (4 not including Goddard). Ms. Anu and Ms. Seik in Monkey's are an amazing team their communication to each other and to our children is so respectful! You can tell they adore the children. Their communication with parents is so refreshing! Goddard is exceptional at pickup for communication, from the teachers to the administrators ( Jess and Jenna). And you can tell they are intentional and work on improving ( including administration)! As we moved up to the next age group, Ms.Quinn in Bears has a heart for children! She loves what she does and her room is calm and so respectful to each individual child. ( I've learned many a parenting tricks/ guidance from her) My FAVORITE part about Ms.Quinn is how observant she is, we receive positive notes about our child regularly. I feel like she sees our child's full and beautiful personality! Four year classroom - (Giraffe room)we had a rough start due to Goddard trying to find the right fit. Props to them, they identified the hurdles and actively worked on them and communicated those changes frequently, with successful outcomes. (Obviously I communicate, and that's a two way street) now we have aged up to Kangaroos with Ms. Chelsi/Ms. Michaela and they are PHENOMENAL! Amazing co- teaching! Again, OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATION, in addition to the constant feedback we get from their internal app! You can tell they care and pay attention to each of their students! Thank you for such a positive experience! I will say you will see subs occasionally, and that's just the nature of childcare, and we have seen less turnover here than previous centers!

There is usually no parking at all and if the adjacent park is closed for the season I have no idea where you are suppose to put your car. This is the one major downside of this location. The facility themselves are quite clean albiet crowded at times on the weekend. There isn't too many places to sit down and wait for your kids to finish class. The pool itself is also smaller than other pools we have been to at other YMCA in Illinois. Overall I am happy we have not gotten a YMCA membership as it is not cheap and I can only imagine how it continues to be very crowded during the course of the week.

So I go to this gym in Ft Wayne. I had the most bizarre experience there. I was two sets in on a cable machine and this guy in his late 20's approached me with very nervous energy. His mouth was almost chattering when he spoke like he was cold. Except he was sweating. He forcefully said "How many sets you have left?!" I said two. You can work in if you like. "I'm not trying to work out with you! Your cables are on different heights." Yes I know. When I pull them forward they end up even for some reason. "How much longer are you on here?!" Startled by his tone I step back saying well like I said two sets left but you can work in. He steps closer to me pointing and raises his voice further "you're not even doing the right work out bro! I'm NOT trying to work out with YOU!" Then storms off. The guy next to me witnesses all of this, and when the rude guy finally walks away, I look at him and say WOW! As in wow did that just happen?! The rude guy hears me say "wow" and runs back over to me yelling "Is something funny?!" I say no. "I walked away and heard you laughing!" I said look I was just trying to be polite and let you work in. He yells further "I walk away and I hear you going AHHHHHH! Is that funny to you?!" I backed off and said again "I was just trying to be polite and offer you to work in while I finish!" He yells "YOU ARE NOT EVEN DOING THE RIGHT WORK OUT!!!!" I then walked away to let him have the machine even though I wasn't finished. The two men who witnessed all of this never made eye contact with me or asked if I was ok nor stepped in. They acted stone cold as if they saw nothing. That almost pissed me off more than this nut job screaming at me for no reason. If someone had acted that way at my gym in Fort Wayne it wouldn't have been tolerated by anyone around observing it. I would have at least gone up to the guy being attacked afterwards and asked if he was ok. These witnesses didn't even look at me let alone check in. I'll never step foot in that YMCA again. So much for "Christian values" they promote. I did complain to the staff but who knows if they've done anything. Bizarre experience to say the least. Very unfriendly people all around.

I've been a member of a couple different YMCA locations over the years, and visited many others for…read moreout-of-town distance running events-- and the Huntington Parkview YMCA is, to date, one of my favorites. It is well maintained, boasts an excellent AND varied ensemble of well-thought out weight lifting equipment, plenty of treadmills and a wonderful pool. This YMCA has also done something that is extremely impressive in my opinion-- it pursues the good of the community by expanding it's offerings to more than just athletics/strength (which it does very well) and incorporates both fine arts and theatre performance. I was requested to head up the first art program five years ago, and have taught both two week summer art camp sessions and Saturday morning classes for children ages 5-16. we've done this program every year since, with great integration into the overall scope of what the Y does. The desire of the board to see this kind of quality, and support of it, is invaluable in my opinion. I love working with the staff and gladly donate my time whenever I'm able! If you're considering moving to Huntington or are already here and contemplating getting a membership, DO SO without hesitation. The money will be returned ten-fold.

I know the word "control" sounds strange, but this is the word the administrator used when my nephew was drinking one of the employees hot coffee that continued to be placed on the children's table in the 2 year olds classroom. She stated she told the employees to keep their coffee out of the childrens reach, but they were not doing it. My neice had this conversation only after CPS contacted her because another parent reported her son and a list of other children drinking coffee, in addition to many other issues. This is a terrible environment for children who can not speak for themselves. Before enrolling your child, please contact the Fort Wayne CPS office for a list of complaints. I am shocked they are still in business!
