Seats have splits with stuffing coming out, most of the access hatches had broken hinges, the throttles were in serious need of adjusting, the motor would randomly rev itself while in neutral, the "stereo didn't work" which in fact is the speaker wiring that looks to have burnt, the damn boat wouldn't go faster than 10 knots, they must have placed a governor to minimize speed, the horn didn't work so they put an air horn in the safety box, an airhorn I removed from the package, assembled as necessary and placed at the helm incase a situation should arise where I would need it, can you believe the bonehead at the dock called me out for having it out of the safety box, are you freaking serious? The operation of this place is an absolute joke, no one wants to take any responsibility for the problems we encountered, the knucklehead working the dock couldn't even provide me the number for his boss, he had to go look "Juan's" number up, I'm guessing it's a dead end number. I will be filing a complaint with my credit card company and the USCG for this fraudulent operation. Read the fine print in their rules/regs, there is NO situation where you will get a refund, NEVER!! They cancel your reservation if you don't pick up within an hour of your reserve time and hold you accountable for any slight deviation from their policies BUT don't dare expect them to adhere to any regulations they're expected to. EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF USCG REQUIRED EQUIPMENT ON BOARD THE VESSEL WAS EXPIRED SINCE MAY 2022, a violation I would be held accountable for had I been stopped and to worsen the situation my USCG active duty son was aboard this vessel, he'll be the individual addressing the MANY safety regulations they are violating as we noted SEVERAL on ALL OF THEIR VESSELS. I would strongly recommend you look for a responsible company, not a derelict fleet of boats that may or may not provide a safe and enjoyable boating situation, this is NOT that company. I am not including pictures in this post as they may end up being evidence for my credit card company but rest assured, everything I have mentioned here has a picture to represent the condition of these boats and the number of safety violations each one represents.

When we arrived about ten minutes early, the boat was not yet rigged, and Captain Mick immediately begin apologizing for the dirty nature of his boat saying that he forgot his pressure washer and was unable to properly clean the boat. That would've been fine, but his "sense of humor" definitely riled my children (who are very well-adjusted) from the start. He began the trip by "nicknaming" my kids "princess" and "stinky" which I told him would not go over well and please use their names. He got us to help rig the boat and wanted to engage the kids in learning different parts of sailing which would've been great except that his tone was gruff and impatient and somewhat inappropriate (he told my 17 year old daughter to get the sail ready, she needed to put her ass into it). Whenever they would do something incorrectly, he would raise his voice and make them feel stupid or inadequate. "No, not THAT way!!, etc". I could tell they were stressed and hoped that it would get better once we got out into the bay, even nicely suggesting that the kids probably were not used to his type of personality. He said that they should "get over it" and have a sense of humor. When we were sailing around a bend and my daughter was using the wench to bring in the jib he again was gruff and yelling at her for not doing it right and she had tears in her eyes, to which I finally lost my patience and emphatically told him "do NOT yell at my kids. We came out for a nice sailing experience and it has been very stressful." He seemed surprised, as I really don't believe he has insight into how he comes across. He apologized but the rest of the trip was just awkward. I love sailing and being on sailboats and wanted my kids to love it too, but this was not the best way to get them into the experience. Captiva is lovely and Captain Mick knows his stuff when it comes to sailing and history of the island but I definitely suggest that if you go out with him, you need to set your expectations for your trip from the start.

We then paid with our card for "gas" but was charged $410.12, when we paid $309.38 for the reservation the day prior online. When we called him and questioned why we were charged 2 different amounts, he claimed to not find any of it in their system AND that we needed to report the $309.38 as fraud and if we "reported the $410.12 as fraud we will have a problem and I will be calling you." What the hell?! What problem? So we found a number attached to the $309.38 on the bank statement and found out that the boat rental uses the Mariana company to book online & they charge in person through their own system. After the second phone call to the guy, all of a sudden he found the $309 charge in his system that he claimed he did not see the first time & was very adamant that he went ahead and refunded the $309 before calling me back. All in all, the whole situation was annoying and very sketchy. 12/10 would not recommend, not even for a cheaper price, no.

I am 49 and in good shape, and my 73 year old father was riding double with me. They told us it would be "just a little choppy". The guide spent all of 20 seconds showing how to operate the jet-ski and then told is to stay together (there were four of us on the tour). He said "follow me" and then he sped off at a speed much faster than this rookie felt comfortable with. I struggled to keep up on the first half hour of the trip, heading to the bay to look for dolphins. The way back was treacherous. We were heading into the waves, which were swallowing us up and dumping water on us from above. A few minutes later, we were alone in the gulf, no one around us, but I persevered on when I could blink the salt water from eyes. After a few more minutes of punishment on the water, a wave finally got the best of us, and our jet-ski flipped. The force of the wave pulled us under momentarily. When we righted ourselves in the water, we began swimming to shore, struggling to drag the jet-ski behind us. As we were almost to shore, the guide appeared and was shouting at us. When we told him we were taking the jet-ski to shore, he told us we couldn't do that and we must ride back. I was shivering head to toe, and I must have hit my hand because my fingers were numb. I told the guide that we couldn't go on and that I feared for my life. He pointed to a hotel for us to walk to and he ridiculed us for not completing the ride. He never asked if we were ok. He then tied our jet-ski to his and sped off, leaving us there on the shore. We walked to the hotel, barefoot, our IDs and cell phones not with us, and called ourselves a cab to take us back to our departure point. When we arrived back, again, no one asked how we were. We were significantly mislead regarding the vicious waves and how they would impact our journey. The worst part is the lack of regard for our safety and how we were treated after the wave launched us in the air and separated us from the jet-ski.

We are regulars in this area and will be a regular of this company.
