Almost impossible to really even putt after hitting the "temp green", so I simply picked up and marked a par. I have played 15 rounds of golf in Minnesota over the past 25 days, and was pleased to walk on to this course and pay a fairly low rate after playing a number of local "resort" courses for three times the cost. The course is in just beautiful shape with well cut grass, a challenging first cut of rough, and a very difficult sawgrass kind of rough in the secondary areas. Other than the expected leaves, the greens were magnificent and very challenging. I really enjoyed this course and will be back to play again.

We were there for the Jenkins, VFW's 40th anniversary celebration. (Best meat raffle in the state) We'd most definitely go again! The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the landscaping wasn't finished at that time, it was that new. But judging by the rest of the place, I'm sure it will be lovely, when completed. The Legacy Courses, once a fun and challenging experience, seem to have lost their charm post-renovation. Unfortunately, the redesign feels like a missed opportunity. The courses now lack excitement, pose safety risks (with fences needed to protect against stray balls), and have awkward layouts, such as a lengthy 2-minute cart ride through a barren neighborhood just to reach the next hole. On top of that, Lehman's 9th hole is inconveniently distant from the clubhouse, leaving you with only a basic campground-style bathroom and a food truck offering little more than hotdogs, chips, and drinks. If you're looking for a better golf experience, consider checking out The Pines at Grandview, Madden's Classic, Madden's East, or Whitebirch in Breezy Point.

So I reloaded my bag and played this week. I continue to be impressed by the great conditions, well-tended greens and the friendly staff. They sell great apparel in the pro shop - really nice technical gear. We walked the course - they have very nice push carts with locking wheels. Tip - full food/snack/beverage at #10 so you don't need to go to the clubhouse for that brat.
