Once we sent them a text we heard back from them quickly and arranged for a drop off for two days later. The gentleman who dropped off the kayaks and did the pick-up was very friendly. He was early to the drop off spot and super fast in returning to pick up the kayaks once we were done and had texted him. The price for two double kayaks appeared to be the best in town and with no drop off fees. The kayaks were in decent shape. Highly recommended!

The Pine Loop is paved and ADA accessible, about one third of a mile long. The other is Holly Way and is a bit less accessible and around a quarter of a mile long. Please use caution and always bring a friend. I didn't see any wildlife today but there's no reason that something could pop out since you've "brought lunch." The center of the park has two lighted baseball fields, complete with bleachers and a concession stand. Three lighted tennis/pickleball courts. Picnic shelter with charcoal grills. Playground. Restrooms. The pavilion on the playground is available to rent. The community pool is also here though currently closed. Accessible only by boat, this is a remote, natural, untouched, pure Florida beach. What it is not,…read moreis a state park, per se, but rather land owned by the state park department (i.e. we, Florida taxpayers), that is "shared" with landowners and homes that existed prior to the state's land acquisition. You will be dropped off by boat, walk about five minutes through a canopy of trees, and emerge on the other side, to a gorgeous beach. There are no facilities whatsoever. Not a bench, building or instructional sign. There is not even a sign stating it is state park land. If you have a Florida state pass, you CANNOT use it, and are charged when you book your cruise. For the shellers out there, NOT a good shelling site, although I know September is not the best time to shell (winter is best). Three stars because the beach IS beautiful. Would've been "0" for it's classification as a "state park"

I was hoping there was some resemblance of what once existed here but that's not the case as of…read moreIndependence Day 2025. Although the rebuilding process continues there's not much left here after the devastating hurricanes, the public access fishing pier has been totally destroyed and the sea wall has been mostly destroyed, the sandy shell road is riddled with potholes and standing water and the businesses that were on the point are severely damaged, close and abandoned. There are signs that this place will recover, the sea wall sheet pilings are being installed from barges and land based cranes before the sand can be hauled in to fill the voids. It's apparent that the entire island has taken a beating with the collapsing buildings and uprooted trees scattered about but there's no doubt about the resiliency of the people that call this island home so the restoration will continue. There is still a small parking area that allows you to fish from the concrete sea wall that remains intact and enjoy the beautiful sunsets, hopefully the fishing pier construction will begin soon so the area can return even bigger and better than before. I hope to return here when everything is restored to give the 5 star review it deserves...

Things were trying to get back to some sort of normalcy since Ian, but all the piers that were just rebuilt were destroyed. We love to go there and have breakfast at the Perfect Cup and the Getaway Place. A lot of cleaning up was going on, but the quaint little stores that made it through Ian are pretty much gone. This makes me really sad!

A few covered pavilions surround the tranquil lake but no fishing permitted. Today is cool out and the park is slammed with people exercising or playing with their children at the kiddie jungle gym. The paved parking is limited but they recently enhanced it by adding a gravel lot. Gender assigned public bathrooms available.

They've made some upgrades to the lighting along the walk/bike path and they do a good job of keeping it in good repair. There are a couple places that gets covered for small spans with dirt and debris in that low area when it rains heavily, but it's generally cleared away within a reasonable amount of time. The children's playground received a huge upgrade with the largest play area receiving a sun shade overhead. We enjoy seeing all the puppies, dogs and their people while we walk and some evenings, we're able to enjoy great sunsets.
