Eric, the owner, took care of us personally and I'm not embarassed to admit that I collapsed in his arms in tears when he showed up with her cremains, nose and paw prints, commemorative decorations, and more. She passed on the 20th and this company goes above and beyond to offer genuine care and services in the aftermath of what can feel like overwhelming grief. Eric and his company are doing God's work. You cannot choose a better company. PS Just realized that all of this care, all of this service was even more above-and-beyond: they didn't have a credit card on file for me and thus I had not paid a dime for anything. I had to reach out to THEM to ask if I'd paid. This is an exceptional company. Truly.

I had sent them a photo for his urn and everything when I scheduled the appointment. When I called to find out what the delay was and they seemed to act as they didn't even know I had an appointment. I scheduled the appointment with the owner Eric Hicks by phone 2 weeks before. The gentleman that I spoke with at the time of appointment was not the owner. He told me they could send someone out now, but luckily my veterinarian was still at my house and was able to take him and have him cremated with them. Shout out to Oakes Animal Hospital in Winston Salem for providing me in home euthanasia and cremation services. They are one of the few veterinary hospitals that provides these services for established clients. I have used Serenity Pet before and even recommended them to my aunt when she had to euthanize her dog. She even used their in home euthanasia services. Which I did not because use, because my dog had a lot of anxiety and was comfortable with his veterinarian. My aunt was very pleased with Serenity services and so was I. I am disappointed that now I am not getting the items that came with the services Serenity offered. You have to understand I was emotionally wrecked and could not wait for 20-30 min for them to come. I'm writing this review mainly because they didn't even seem to care to enough to apologize for the mix up. When they text to use storms as an excuse for not being there. Which would be understandable if they had call, but I got the feeling they weren't coming in the first place. Like my appointment didn't exist. I did text them back to let them know my veterinarian was handling it and I had already told them that when I called. Their response was "Ok". No sorry for the inconvenience on one of the worst days of your life. I have used a few pet crematorium before and have never been treated with so little respect on a already difficult day. I choose Serenity Pet because they are still privately owned. Where everyone I've used in the past is now owned by a corporation. This was a very disappointing experience that I did not expect to have.

Not knowing what to do in a panic, I googled pet cremation and came across Carolina Pet Cremation. On the website it said 24 hour service was available and you could call or text anytime. I honestly didn't expect an answer this late, the day before a holiday, or to be able to take him anywhere that late but I texted to see and almost immediately he responded. Steve said he'd wait there for us to arrive (we were an hour away), it was after 1 am when we finally arrived. Steve was so patient and kind with us. We said our goodbyes and handed out sweet boy over to him. He had Boss ready by 2 pm on the next day before he left to go out of town. Our Bossie Boy was 10 years old. He may have been small but his place in our heart is huge.

So I called Steve and got him directly. He told me to take Giles to a local vets Carefirst, that he uses for his facility. I took him there the next day, They were so kind to me, let me have as much time as I needed, held me and let me tell stories. They held Steve in the highest regard. I didn't expect all I got, besides the personal care for me, I got what you see in the pictures that have been posted. I would recommend this a thousand times!

The goats were larger than a large dog, and we were unable to bury them on our property due to their size. We called our veterinarian, and they recommended Companah. When I called, Sean spoke with me in the gentlest and most compassionate voice. He outlined our options and made an immediate appointment for our goats. We drove down to the location, and we were greeted by the sweetest, most gentle young women. The first thing they said was that they were sorry for my loss. I seem to recall a gentle hug. They brought out carts and carefully loaded the goats. They spoke with me about our options for aftercare for the goats. In a few days, we received a message that our goats were ready to go home. I drove up and picked up the packages. The young woman again was so deeply kind and gentle. I was overwhelmed with the quality and craftsmanship of the memorial pieces I bought to remember my goats. I kept waiting for someone to make fun of me for wanting to preserve the goats in this way, to tell me it was silly or unnecessary. But the entire staff treated me like I had lost a family member, an aunt, a mother, a father. I did lose two family members. The staff at Companah Pet Cremation and Aftercare treated me with dignity and respect. I did not get anyone's names; I was too broken. But thank you to the wonderful staff for taking care of my pets with such care and dignity.

Hal was kind, sympathetic and held my sweet boy with care as if Dinker was his own pet. Companah's understanding the depth of my loss, professionalism and compassion gave me comfort in knowing I had entrusted my beloved Dinker to good caring people, a quality company.

I say this because I remember receiving animals that were cremated in simple paper boxes wrapped in plastic wrap. This was not the experience I had as a pet owner with this company, however. I recently had to put my cat down and called Coastal Mobile Veterinary Clinic (another wonderful service). Dr. Hanson recommended Southeastern as a resource for my animal's cremation. The price was very affordable and the care that they took was really special. They placed my dear's ashes in a simple wooden box, attached a sprig of Rosemary with a card (for remembrance), signed a very kind and not sappy note card thanking me for my service, and also made a cast (like a Christmas ornament) of my cat's paw out of plaster of paris. All of these extras I was not expecting, but deeply touched me and helped me feel like they really cared about my cat.

Still got my cats ashes back but not his blanket that he was wrapped in bc they wanted to burn that also, so lesson learned the hard way. Don't use this service!
