Now it is used to sell works by regional artists and souvenirs of the Lakeside Inn. Items include jewelry, art, wood, glass work, woven goods, soap, yard decorations, and books by regional authors. I like how they have signs listing details about the artists. I believe the artists also come to the store for exhibitions so you can meet them in person. The items were exquisite and therefor expensive but they did have a sales table. One necklace I admired was $65. There are two rooms filled with unique, one of a kind items. The whole store is darling. I could have easily spent the bank there. Unfortunately it was the first store I looked through in Mt. Dora so I wasn't willing to commit to anything but I would definitely come back next time I visit.

She picked out a couple to experiment with, as well as a couple of other items. I am not into house plants, but they had a few very interesting and healthy specimens. So much so that I ended up buying one that I liked. Maybe the booze from the bar was affecting my judgement, time will tell. I later checked out this plant online and discovered the same plant, in the same size, cost twice as much at both Home Depot and Lowe's. WTH? Anyhow, they have a lot of unique items (no junk) here, unlike those standard tourist / souvenir type stores one comes across in towns like this. I went in on a Saturday and found parking fine. The area was bustling! This book has A LOT. It was a little confusing to figure out where I wanted to go, but I found myself browsing. The mix of books is actually impressive. They have a lot of bookish merch too. I ended up purchasing a book, bookmark and book holder. The service and value were good. This place is a lot of fun and a great stop if you do want to make a day out of visiting the shops and checking out the markets.

They sell used books as well and have a great selection of both games and puzzles. I purchased a few items here last year as Christmas presents. Friendly staff on-site to help with your bookish needs. I look forward to being a regular customer.
