    I quite liked this place. The staff are super sweet and nice, maybe a little forgetful and inattentive, but super nice and I think, well intentioned. Hehe. That definitely counts for me! The food was all beautifully presented, especially the cocktails, of which I didn't not have a single one. I drank wine. But they all looked spectacular. The haloumi salad starter was an absolute standout! Shaved rockmelon, grilled haloumi, mint and watermelon cubes... and nuts... just a spectacular flavour combo! I also had the kingfish ceviche main. Good, but nothing to write home about. Dessert was great too. Would definitely come back again! Great spot for people watching too. We observed some minor celebs get harassed by the paps. Very exciting. Oh my!

    I wish I loved this place. I really do. It seems like the type of place I would fall in love with, but alas it misses the mark.... Pink Salt is a beautiful looking restaurant. Situated on elegant Cross Street is seems classy and it is. The decor is gorgeous but I'm the kinda girl who needs more than presentation. I had the Atlantic Salmon - with blood orange, fennel, coriander & harissa salad,tahini infused yoghurt ($32) and whilst the presentation was good the food was average - definitely not $32 worth. The staff were friendly and helpful but it wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing food. The portions are small, so you may leave feeling a little hungry - which I never like.... Please Pink Salt, i want to love you - step up your game and maybe we can start this relationship again.

    Pink Salt made its name some years ago on the popular reality television show, My Restaurant Rules, but it seems this modern Australian restaurant may be struggling. Located in downtown Double Bay, the surrounding suburban area doesn't really match up with their young, girlie chic aesthetic, and the spacious dining room often appears relatively empty whenever I walk past. A group of girlfriends and I were looking for something out of the ordinary to do for one New Year's Eve, and these guys were hosting a special degustation dinner - located near a marina where fireworks are held at 9pm, as well as being close to the city to go out afterwards, it ticked the boxes for what we were after. From what I remember, dinner was great (our pre-drinks and multiple champagne bottles consumed during the meal didn't do much to awaken our tastebuds) with a very delicious ricotta cannoli for dessert served with a zesty, sweet citrus salad with segments of pink grapefruit, lime and lemon. The sad thing was, there was only one other group at the restaurant this night - a situation I feel may be the case quite often.

    This place is located just off New South Head Road in Double Bay. Parking is easy and the space is this great fusion of indoor/outdoor seating. The decor is stylish and differently matches it surrounds. The menu is awesome and is best shared with someone. A selection of smaller and larger plates will tickle your tastebuds - whatever you choose though make sure that you leave room for dessert. If you are a cheese person jump onto that otherwise you will be singing the blues on the way home. Our choice was the ice cream sandwich - delicious (probably best not shared). Note that prices are not cheap. Like to be part of the in crowd - hit the place on a Friday and Saturday night where the place comes alive with an in house DJ.

    Amazing food and impeccable service. Menu is very reasonably priced as well. Most things on the menu are great for sharing, and their gnocchi with zucchini flowers is a must have! Keep room for a sweet treat at the end as they make their own soft-serve in house and usually change up the flavours on a monthly basis. It is to die for!

Very grateful to our waiter for being so helpful with menu suggestions and accommodating one of the guests with a more complicated food palette. The ambience inside was intimate with low warm lightly. The music was classy and not too loud. Such a beautiful and memorable space.

Our room included "happy hour" but unlike other hotels this meant one glaas of house wine and some stale corn chips only. Anyway, it's a vibrant spot for a pre dinner drink.

The next course was a sashimi-like preparation of tuna and scallop, served in a tomato water and accompanies by a thin thin flatbread and a horseradish sauce. At this point, we were happy, but when the next course came we crossed from happy into blown away. The main course was lamp rump crusted with a dill and tarragon mix, and served with Hasselback potatoes in a Comte cheese sauce. The lamb was incredibly tender and flavorful. The potatoes were CRAZY good. The photo that looks like croissants were the potatoes - maybe the best potatoes I've ever had. There was also a small tasty salad. At this point, we were getting full, but there was no way we were leaving a morsel of that main course behind. After the main course came a double dessert. One item was creme brulee, served with a fresh blackberry sauce. The other item was termed a petit four but was shaped more like a mini-muffin. It was a hazelnut based pastry served with a cream made of white chocolate and maybe ricotta or mascarpone. Whatever you want to call it, that petit four was unreal. It was SO good that neither of us left a crumb behind, and both of us concluded that we could eat one every day for the rest of our lives. From the name and the information I had about the menu from Instagram and other sources, I expected a very formal "white-table-cloth" atmosphere. Instead, the restaurant itself was small and casual, with half the dinner service provided on small outdoor tables on the sidewalk. That's not a complaint, just not what I expected. Walking up to their patio dining area, we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a choice between patio and indoor seating and provided menus. We chose to dine outdoors to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather and cool yet comfortable temperature. After being seated, the young man, brought us glasses of chilled water while we waited for the server to take our morning beverage and breakfast orders. Our cheery server, Marissa, came by shortly after delivering another table's order and we were ready to order right away. FOOD & BEVERAGE: -Sticky Chai Tea: I requested the chai tea as its blend of natural spices with soy milk appealed to me on this slightly chilly morning. The roasted mixed mushrooms flavors were enhanced "just right" with the truffle butter without being overpowered.
