I've been to this place when it was brick and mortar but I'm grateful that they embraced the food truck side- they are incredibly good at it. We've been to their truck twice at the snow pond center for the arts- once once it was not so busy and the other was during Melissa etheridge. They move the line so quickly!! The quiet concert they never even had a line because the fries come out right away. If I see this truck available in a group, I'm coming here first! The poutine is also very good, lots of variety. It was my first time visiting Side by Each, and we came specifically for the poutine. Pinky D's has a setup inside the brewery with a food truck facade. There are tons of poutine options from classic to pulled pork, and these are the two we tried. The classic was very good, well seasoned gravy with curds over crispy fries. This one I enjoyed the most. The pulled pork had pickles, BBQ sauce, and yellow cheese - so really nothing like poutine, more so loaded fries, but still very good. They also do a "flight" of three choices which is a great way to go to try something new on their menu. I went with the Chicken, bacon ranch poutine and added brown gravy instead of the cheese sauce($14). WOW!!! A righteous flavor bomb! Made to order, every ingredient was plentiful, fresh and hot. I am not going to claim that I am an expert on poutine but I love the stuff and have been to Canada a number of the times and have tried what many reviewers claim is "true" poutine. With all that in mind, I think Pinky Ds is as good as any place I have ever tried. That being said, I have never ordered anything but the classic poutine from this place but it is so darned good that I never want to change.... except the lobster poutine looks awesome!! Welp. Idk. I'm torn. This is so freaking good. But, my semi-healthy lifestyle is like "nooooooooo". Sis & I got the Dilly Dilly and the Da Vinci and the Dessert Poutine. And, I gotta day- Dilly Dilly is my cuppa tea. The Da Vinci is SO good when it's super hot, but I'm not a red sauce kinda gal, so I primarily polished off the Dilly Dilly, which is sooo gooood (if you like Salt & Vinegar Chips- this is the one for you). Pinky D's is now at Sugarloaf for the ski season (so late December to mid-April), and located under the overhang at base camp, aka Food Truck Alley. For those of you unfamiliar with poutine, it's basically fries with cheese curds and gravy. It's messy and wonderful, and if you get it from the food truck, you won't regret it. But eat it quickly before it gets too soggy! Unsurprisingly, Pinky D's has been named one of Maine's best food trucks. My friend and I made this a casual lunch break from the slope. I tried the Guinness gravy poutine, while my friend tried the bacon chicken ranch. Both had their strong points (the bacon chicken ranch fries stayed firmer, since they had less in the gravy department, but the Guinness gravy flavor was difficult to compete with), so we ended up swapping with each other halfway through to try both. This tasty truck sells French fries wit lots of yummy toppings. They are known for their classic poutine with cheese curds and gravy. They also boast unique versions such as the buffalo chicken with buffalo soaked chicken chunks blue cheese and lettuce. The chicken bacon ranch is just that. I would prefer it with shredded chicken. The pieces were too big to be bite size. The fries were on point, crispy exterior soft carb inside. They keep pace with long lines very well with just the two running the show.
