My son is in the military, and lives with his girlfriend who is not. After battling with the poorly managed complex ( they said he need 2 months rent and $1785 as a refund letting fee ) i finally had to send them a copy of the SCRA law. They then sent him and his girlfriend an intent to move out. The apartment complex checked the wrong box. They checked the box stating they agree to the lease termination and the move out date of 13/31/25. They then told him the wrong box was checked and he needed to sign a new move out form. I told him not to sign anything, but his " new " monthly rent due October 1st is almost $6000. I asked for the name of their legal department, and was given a facetious name. This apartment complex claims to be luxury but it's not since moving in there has been multiple instances where I got into the elevator and it was urine in the elevator. This complex Also has a lot of dogs that shit anywhere on the side walks etc... Also my car has gotten broken into even though they have "security". I was one of the first people to move into pinnacle apartments when they first opened. We were drawn to this place because it was brand new, the location was AMAZING, and they had nice amenities. My husband and I are both in the military, he's in the navy and I'm in the airforce. This apartment complex is literally minutes from the highway which was a huge plus for us. The first few months of our stay was great. But over time, we noticed stuff fall apart. People were moving in every weekend, we were fighting for parking spaces, and then they integrated parking stickers for residents. Which somewhat helped but they never really stayed on top of it. If you lose it or something happens, it is $50 to get a new one. There's been multiple car break-ins and theft so they hired "security guards" to patrol the premises a few times a night but that doesn't really help. I've personally never seen them around. I had ALOT of co workers that lived at pinnacle with us and a good chunk of their tires got flat due to NAILS scattered all over the parking lot. But when confronted, they just got wide eyed and blamed the company that THEY HIRE. SMH. One time, someone PUKED on the elevator buttons and all over the floor and they never really cleaned it. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the stain is still thThere was a storm that passed through and ripped all the cabanas by the pool and they never replaced it. The maintenance here is crap. They have nice things but if they don't take care of it, what's the point? Another reason why I chose to pay $1,400 just for rent a month to live here is because it's supposed to be a LUXURY apartment. But they don't really screen people and you can smell the weed everywhere and people are obnoxious. I had to file noise complaints on multiple occasions because the people living BELOW me were pumping music pretty much everyday past 11pm. It came to a point where my husband and I were so sick of living here that when we got extension orders here, we went ahead and bought a house and paid $4,000 to break the lease. It hurt because I didn't want to spend my hard earned money on something like this, but to me IT WAS SO WORTH IT! Oh, and they billed us $300 in concessions after we moved out. Thank god that my husband and I took care of our apartment room because we weren't penalized for anything and they actually sent us an email thanking us for leaving the place so clean. Towards the end of our stay, there was a lady that was newer at the leasing office and when we explained what had happened to us, she was super nice and helped us transition out of there smoothly. So if you're looking into moving here because of the move in specials, or because it seemingly "looks nice" turn around and find yourself a more spacious place, or even better, rent a HOUSE for the same or CHEAPER price. You'll thank me later. ******UPDATE********** I noticed that lately I've been seeing a lot of ads for Pinnacle on Facebook. So I told people to stay away and tried to leave another review, but when I clicked to post the review, I got a pleasant pop up saying I've been blocked by the admin. What a FUCKING JOKE. I've lived here for 2 years and everything is clean and well kept. The amenities and reasonable rent price is what drew me in. A few noise issues here and there but nothing too bad. Maintenance always showed up on time and resolved any problems I had. Only downside was my move-out experience. UPDATE: No one including their regional manager has followed up with me since 10/7/17. **** I'd give them a negative 5 if I could. We've been here for about 4months now and unfortunately, we are really upset about making the decision to move to Pinnacle Apartments. They've changed managers about 3 times now but they just opened. Anyhow what really upset me as a customer was how they handled a particular situation. I woke up one morning and noticed my car was gone. I hurried and called the apartment office to ask for the name of the towing company that handles this community so I can check to see if they took my vehicle. The girl told me that she didn't know the towing company name or contact info and that the only person who knows this information is the apartment manager who is not in the office. She told me she would text him and call me back. Twenty minutes had gone by so my boyfriend decided to go to the office. As soon as he walked into office he saw that the manager was in there. Yet no one bothered to contact me back... instead of apologizing for not getting back to me the manager says sarcastically that vehicles must be street legal here. And I get that but my point was that we pay a lot of money to live here a simple courtesy reminder for someone who is 7 days behind couldn't have been that much of a hassle right? The manager responded that all of this is listed in my lease sarcastically. I was just done at this point. Apparently the apartment community has a contract with the towing company to check vehicle registrations, inspections and etc. I happened to be 7 days over my inspection. I forgot. I pay entirely way too much in rent to not even get a courtesy reminder to get a simple inspection. And for those of you thinking, maybe my car appeared like it's in bad condition it's a 2016. I found out through a yelp review per Liz that I should have received a 24 hour notice. Ever since then everyones been acting like I wasn't saying this on Saturday. The staff didn't know that I should have gotten a 24hour notice until this incident, We have to report to them when building lights they're responsible for are out yet they have a contract with a towing company to tow our vehicles for simple mistakes. A little courtesy reminder would have been a bit more customer service friendly for a customer who pays a considerable amount every month to live in this "luxury community." Especially since it's their policy. The manager also claimed days after that the towing company said they left me a 24 hour notice on my car under the windshield on Friday but the problem with that lie is that I was not home on Friday until 11:30pm. They never left me a notice and if they did that would mean the notice was on my car for 4-5 hours at most so that still wouldn't have been a 24 hour notice. My car should have NEVER been towed in the first place. The office only reached out after my yelp review and gifted me a bottle of woodbridge wine and apologized for the interaction on Saturday. The manager Mike told me that they were busy and that he would get me a refund for my towing fee and definitely follow up with me with a call or email by the end of the day. I didn't hear back from him until the day after by which I had already emailed the Regional Manager Lindsey Ellis on Thursday 10/12. I still have yet to hear back from Liz or Lindsey. And this review will be updated if they do. The gym was also supposed to be open 24/7 and now they close at 8pm. I feel like this is ridiculous considering we pay $1,500+ in rent. Make sure you look up all of their reviews online. I wish I had done some more research. We live by HU so if you're looking for peace and quiet this isn't where you want to be. It's hilarious because there were a lot of bad reviews on this before and now they're all gone. Do your research on Bonaventure. MILITARY DO NOT MOVE INTO PINNACLE APARTMENTS! My issues started when I sent in my application to move in... I arrived to the site assuming that I was simply going to get my keys but when I arrived no one even knew what I was talking about; apparently the guy who was processing my application didn't finish it so I had to do everything then because my HHGs were on the way... I should have known not to move in then. Once moved in after a month.. I had a fly infestation which wasn't caused by me and it took them two weeks to rectify ( I was understanding because everyone has protocol), every month I have to make a maintenance request for my garbage disposal and tube stopper because they never actual fix it even though I have told the manager, Kim about the issue. Even though, my apartment is spacious it's not worth $1500 plus amenities that you really can't use because college students are always there or it simply doesn't make sense. The trash valet is pointless but you are forced to pay for it, the trash shot is 15 steps from my door and the valet personnel barely pick up trash so that it is accommodating (I always take my own trash- wasted money). The ceilings are paper thin... I hear everything that my upstairs neighbors do. It's not safe here.. there was a shooting in the apartment complex over the summer and even though management will tell you that this isn't a college apartment complex, it is (they lied to me about this as well). For all general purposes I have been a good resident, paid my rent on time, never given the apartment complex any issues and never had any issues with any other apartment complex (to the point that I wrote a review, however I had to with recent events). I made the manager, Kim and leasing clerk (taller African American woman with glasses) aware that I would be PCSing but wasn't sure which month I would need to move out, the leasing clerk told me I needed to give them 30 days which I did but Kim told me that I would still need to pay the whole next months rent even though I wouldn't be staying in the apartment for the full month. I reviewed my lease and confirmed with the leasing clerk and this wasn't my understanding so I began to question what she was saying and she began to become defensive ( I have a good rapport with her so I didn't understand the anger)...I never had this type of issue with any apartment complex so this was shocking for me.. I left and explained that I needed to think things over... I came back later own to get a memo to give to HHG to change my HHG move because of my current situation and Kim was again very defensive which at this point I was no longer the understanding resident and used curse words in my language not at her but at the situation... she stated that I was harassing her and called the police because I cursed... which is the most ridiculous thing in the word, I wasn't aggressive and did nothing to her... plus I've seen her do worse in the office with corporate on the phone... very unprofessional... me as well had issue this past week about them with my rent. cause they decided to put my money in a (credit) all because I paid my bill ahead of time to avoid being late and as I was going out of town and paid the last week of the month for next month. Ok instead of applying the payment as it states who paid it they applied it toward the other roommate rent. so in trying to recover my money since it was there mishap saying the system did it but where are the humans that can resolve it ... I was told the regional was on a plane at the moment so im guessing its a one person show. To preface: I have lived in apartments most of my life and have NEVER had to call to complain or break a lease because I was so unhappy. Unfortunately, Pinnacle Apartments were so terrible that we were forced to leave. This has also been the most expensive apartment I have lived in as we are paying $1400+ for a "luxury apartment" but receiving sub-par service with management and employees that could not care less about our experience. We have had multiple problems since moving in July, 2017. I had to repeatedly called the Office to complain about noise starting in July, and thus I was given the Gaurdus security number to tell them to please enforce the established quiet hours from 10pm to 6am. During each one of the opportunities we called, Dan was the same dispatcher in charge, who similarly said that an officer would be sent soon. Sadly, in one opportunity, 30 minutes go by without noticeable changes, and thus in the next 30 mins I was forced to call again since no officer ever showed up. We called again after midnight, and thus we finally were able to see the security car, though the party outside still continued. After I spoke to the manager, Brad, again about these issues, he informed us that the issue was getting looked into. In October, we went to speak with the manager again. Brad was not available at that time and thus we were told that he was working at another complex. We told the new manager in place (Mike) about the noise issues and about the failure to find a definitive resolution, in addition to the constantly penetrating smell of weed, in combination with unbearable amounts of yelling which is normally heard through the hallways, and frankly, around the whole complex. Consequently, I told Mike about the 10pm-6am quiet hours which Brad had mentioned before, and he replied that these assertions were not valid, since they are not able to dictate when people are allowed to use the clubhouse, grills, and fire-pit, which are in fact available at ANY hour. Accordingly, we told Mike that this was an ongoing issue since our apartment is located in proximity to those areas. Thus he apologized while asking us to give him a period of 30 days to remedy this problem. Of course, 30 days passed, whereas we never heard back from Mike. In December, we went back to speak with Mike, and so at that point we were informed that he was no longer with the company, and neither was Brad. Katherine, the new manager, looked through the information we provided, and noticed that Mike had written about our past conversations though was not able to identify what was effectively done to fix our problems. Hence, we told her that we wished to break the lease. As a result, she informed us that this action would cost around $1600+. In addition, Katherine promised to get back to us regarding what had been done within the next 4 days. Indeed, she called back on the fourth day to ask for my husband's cell number, which we provided in order to go through Gaurdus' security reports but she did not call back with her findings until a week and a half later. In which the results were, "I confirmed you called and Gaurdus sent an officer. The noisy residents complied so no further action was taken." In sum, we have appropriately and timely communicated all of our ongoing issues, and have never been late on rent, though management keeps on ignoring us. We believe that we have upheld our part of the lease but unfortunately Pinnacle has not. Frankly, we were promised a luxury apartment and we consistently paid for that kind of living, though the real outcome didn't match the initial higher-expectations, and thus we never received or experienced that kind of product and now have no choice but to pay the steep price to break the lease. read more

Great place to live! The apartments are modern and well designed. All the amenities at the complex are awesome! I've lived in the complex for the last year and a half and it's been exactly what I thought it'd be. Be warned, there are some college kids that live in the complex, but not enough for me to feel overwhelmed. In fact, keeps the culture within the complex young :) highly recommend! read more

It is a beautiful complex and conveniently located in an amazing location with multi floor plans. However, the team in charge of this complex needs some work. They are very nice people but often it feels like I'm living in a college dorm atmosphere and not a luxury apartment complex which is essentially what I pay for or at least what I thought I paid for when I moved here. There are a lot of college people living here and they tend to be loud. There isn't a 24 hour maintenance service so if you have an emergency just know they may not respond right away. They do not have guest parking and they have sticker decals which parking is plenty but only one decal per person on the lease. There are plenty of spaces that they could make guest spaces on the back side of the parking lot but they don't. There is not a 24 hour gym anymore as that is shared with H2O. Mail is often delivered to the office for packages but when there is a mishap they just state we are sorry and don't seem to see the seriousness behind their wrongdoing. They used to have a security number you could call but one day I called the number and left a message but never got a response back from it so I decided then I no longer wanted to renew my lease after my terms were up as security is important to me. As I stated, it is a beautiful property but it just feels often like living in a college upscale dormitory instead of a luxury apartment. read more

If you read the review below me by my girlfriend Jenifer this is to update that this issue has still not been resolved. Someone from corporate wrote a response like they fake cared and to save face but the email address doesn't work and several call attempts have failed to get in contact with someone about the matter. The complex manager didn't seem to care until after my girlfriends review days later. They gifted us with some cheap wine, probably leftover from their wine social. This is very inconsiderate being that they don't know if she drinks; hell she could be a recovering alcoholic for that matter. The manager also stated the towing company put a notice on her car...great but when we picked the car up shouldn't it have been on the car still? Most times those stickers are hard to peel off and leave a residue. The guy that towed it said they simply go around and tow for violations I'm , never mentioned a notice. I work night shift so I'm up late at night and I've never seen a towing company patrol the premises. We also have "security" but I've never seen anyone patrol (unless they're just on call). I digress, but it's been a week later and we still don't have the refund for the towing we were promised. It's funny how you get an email every day until you pay rent but when it comes to righting a wrong it seems like waiting for hell to freeze over. They did however send out an email with the towing information and a reminder to residents. Great, but shouldn't there be signs posted in the parking lot as well as designating visitor and resident parking? I really feel like when this complex gets its management together (they've changed 4 times) that it can be a great place to live but right now it's not worth the money. They use to landscape (mulch and maintain shrubbery) but now it looks like crap, even met a resident (she's the James city county cop) who was out picking weeds lol she went on an hour long rant about how bad this place was. We thought she was being eccentric until this situation and just noticing other little things. This place is struggling, they've been open almost a year and still aren't at full capacity. We pay $1,500 a month for a "luxury" 2br apt but there's nothing luxury about it. The free Starbucks is cool I guess. read more
