The office staff is a little full of themselves. When you call about a provider if they will make up an excuse when they will be back or will say things like she's in the hospital and my favorite is, she's no longer with us, which made me think, feel like she had passed away much to my surprise when I saw that she was taking her clients back, I realize that she was not away not dead but had to take some time off and then I had a televised appointment and the second appointment they called and said she can't make this appointment and the next appointment had to be canceled and rescheduled to telehealth. That day the doctor called me and said are we seeing each other? I said they cancel their appointment so we just did a telehealth over the phone and there were no wishes. Also, they treat their patients like cats cows. If you don't have the pre-pay, they will call you for five days in a row and right now money is in green I can't work and I'm waiting on Social Security so it's hard and pinnacle is not doing anything to make it better be only person that's making it better is Dr Elizabeth Buchanan if you ask me questions about her I can go on for days. She's a five on this list of five she listens she gives her feedback. She explains what she's doing. She is amazing so for the rest of the life I give her one too with you, but to Dr. Rhiannon that so that's where your money is makes you keep her around. read more

This place has the worst doctor in doctor chappin. He has no concern for his patients. Rude from the start he is short, does not let his patients speak and refuses to give proper medication. He has a chip on his shoulder, like the patient somehow is an inconvenience to him. He hangs up the phone mid sentence. He accesses patients of wrongdoing and we are only using telehealth. He called to lecture me about phone rapport but neglected to review a doctor report forwarded to him twice. Pinnacle behavioral health has one mantra: quantity of patient$ over quality of care. My son was being treated by Erin Phinney at Pinnacle. After changing his medications, he had a severe reaction to the new medication. For over a week, we attempted to contact her leaving messages and absolutely no response. We attempted to reach out the Owner, Laura Hunt. I had to leave a VM in a mailbox that I am not convinced is Laura Hunt's as the outgoing message was dated and incomplete. In short, our experience with Pinnacle is not good. I started going to Pinnacle in January of 2017 and was taken as a patient by an LMHC and a psychiatrist. I honestly don't have much to say in regards to the LMHC and will not put her name here. She has helped quite a bit on occasion but it took about 2 years of seeing her before we talked any more substantially than discussing my daily activities for 30 minutes once a month. She was always at least 15 minutes late for in person visits and I would be done and leaving the room within 45 minutes. My true issue with Pinnacle and the reason I found different mental health care, was Dr Sean Chapin. I could tell so many stories about my care with this horrible practitioner. When I would tell him a med he prescribed was having adverse effects or just wasn't working, he would ask me what kind of meds I would want to try next and tell me to go home and research ones I wanted. Maybe that's normal in some places but as a suicidal 16 year old, researching my own meds wasn't a safe idea. Every time I told him I self harmed, he would give me a patronizing look and shake his head. There's also the time I told him my mom had just been hospitalized due to complications from the cancer she had been diagnosed with 4 days prior and he changed the subject to ask how my dog was doing. Did I mention the time I missed an appointment due to being in the hospital for a self harm incident and received a call from Chapin himself telling me I was going to be dropped from his care? Even though I called and left a message to tell him I was in the hospital. They have a same day cancellation policy after all All of this and as soon as I found a new psychiatrist and therapist, I received a new diagnosis (the correct diagnosis) and was put on the correct meds. Ones I didn't have to research myself. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

She is uncaring, rude and refused to fill my antidepressant after she discharged me. I had to contact the Medical Review Board in order to get my medication. I was horribly sick for two weeks without the medicine and she still wouldn't refill it. She is a witch. read more

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Pinnacle. The LMHCP that I saw did not even look at my intake form and seemed unable to ask any useful questions in order to gain insight into the trouble I was having. The LMHCP was woefully underequipped to address my concerns and was unable to provide any tangible strategies for me to use. They recommended some topical breathing exercises, light exercise and hitting a pillow (which has been formally debunked as an ineffective method for handling stress/anger for years now, it should *not* be recommended as a treatment strategy). I was already very much aware of these "strategies" as are most people with access to Google. The session ended almost 20 minutes early when the LMHCP told me that they were unable to provide any effective treatment and admitted that they were unsure of how they could go about helping me. The only reason this is a 2 star review instead of 1 is because at least they had the decency to admit they were too incompetent/unknowledgable to provide any real help rather than stringing me a long and wasting even more time and money. I would *not* recommend their services to anyone who is dealing with anything more than the most minor and topical of conditions, as they seem unequipped to handle them with effective, empirically sourced treatment strategies. This was an immensely disappointing experience and a waste of time and money. read more

I am a disabled veteran with PTSD and an extreme case of adult ADHD, I came to Pinnacle Health for help because as we all know the VA is useless and doesn't do enough to help Veterans. The day Pinnacle received my medical records from the VA hospital I was promptly denied any sort of care. They actually told me they wont see me because I am better off seeing someone at the VA hospital. I don't know who they think they are to make this decision for me but I can tell you that this actually shows how incompetent they are and that they honestly do not care about the patient. read more

I was a patient 10 yrs ago and had a horrible experience. My daughter is now a patient there and they seem to have made huge improvements! The waiting room is the most obvious improvement. They have remodeled the office and expanded the waiting room. My daughter's appts have all been on time and her psychiatrist has been very helpful. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The most unprofessional mental health care I've seen in my life. The doctor was billing my insurance for over half an hour when he only saw me for 10 minutes max each appointment. Changed medication seemingly at random, prescribing medications for problems that I didn't have. He even prescribed medication that causes lowered blood pressure to someone with low blood pressure without checking their blood pressure. Was prescribed medication in inpatient, the first medication to ever work for a problem that had been occurring for years. When I returned the doctor then refused to prescribe it. When I asked to switch to a different provider within the same group, they wouldn't, leaving me without medication, and all without being weaned off a medication that causes withdrawl. By far the most unprofessional, unsympathetic waste of time and money. This place does not care about their patients at all, they're only in it for the money. read more

Rocco, the "gatekeeper" for all appointment making, is incredibly rude and lacks diplomacy. It's also painfully obvious he lacks empathy for the people he deals with on a daily basis. I'm not too sure why a behavioral health facility would employ someone who obviously thinks so highly of himself to deal with the intake of new patients. Maybe he should see someone for his Narcissistic Personality Disorder? I guess they don't accept his insurance. The providers do not care about your mental health or well being, they are mostly concerned about getting their insurance payment. Oh, I forgot to mention, Dr. Chappin is the poorest excuse for a psychiatrist that I have ever met in my life. He is a jokester - literally - he will make jokes about you during your appointments with him. How is that acceptable? He should lose his license. read more

He's getting ready to retire and cutting his hours, so I wanted to see another person there for my medication. Well, they don't allow switching between providers, so I'm on the look out for a new psychiatrist. Everything in my previous review is still true. My psychiatrist and therapist finally got me on the right track. Dr. Chappin is an awesome psychiatrist who asked me very thorough questions and seemed to be generally very devoted to helping me and all his patients. This place saved my life. The only issues are that I wanted to see my therapist more than once every two weeks. Eventually, I moved away from Albany and had to find another doctor. But I definitely recommend them, and they were very accommodating with my insurance, which at the time was a Medicaid insurance and I am forever grateful to them read more

My Dr. was terrible. Dr. Naveen Achar took months to remember my name and history. Has history of filling in patients and then making you wait for your scheduled appointment. Gave me pills for 3 months ahead and rarely made an effort to get to know me. Randomly increased my dosage without my knowledge. Had several issues with the pharmacy and him calling in the right order. And the only recommendation he ever did was a brand new electromagnetic therapy the organization was developing. Worst experience of my life, I made an appointment on monday. For yesterday at 3 pm I stated that I need to see a psychiatrist not a psychotherapist that I needed to get on some sort of medication to help me with my anxiety and my depression. I also confirm that they took my insurance which I have Fidelis. They made sure that I had no co-pay told me I was fine to make sure that I bring my Fidelis card and a photo ID and I would then speak with Tina and go from there. Well I spent an hour of my life with Tina yesterday going over memories and certain things that bother me for her to tell me to go see a primary care physician and that the psychiatrist there do not take my insurance I live in Mechanicville so I drove 45 minutes to leave wanting to drive off a bridge because I just went over my whole life and a matter of an hour in this lady goes all I think you need to see a primary care physician the worst place to get mental health and they wonder why people have substance abuse problems because when they go in and try to get help nobody listens so they have to self medicate displacement makes me want to become a heroin addict again pretty sad right read more

I was in need of medication management so I decided to make an appointment with one of the nurse practioners. When I arrived I was ignored at the reception desk for a good 10 minutes. The whole entire time I was in with the nurse practioner I felt like I was bothering her. She was rude and wouldn't listen to me. She didn't seem to care about my concerns at all. When I suggested trying one of the new antipsychotics she responded with that one is used for schitzaphrenia when there is literature indicating that it is used for bipolar depression too. I left there crying. I don't recommend this place to anybody. If there was a scale in the negatives I would have to rate it -100! I have been receiving needed medication through this office for over a year. The pharmacy has refilled it without question until I got a call from them telling me Pinnacle would not get back to them about my refill. I called Pinnacle to confirm. The receptionist seemed annoyed that I called, told me that my case had been closed (without notice), asked "why have you waited so long to call us?," and then told that they will not take my insurance. Now I am left with finding a new doc, set up an appt., and be prescribed my meds before they run out. Careless, disrespectful and NO patient follow up. read more

This place had so many red flags after my first visit that my therapist and two social worker friends said to run for the hills and find a new doctor. First, they call twice in advance to make sure they have your credit card information so they can bill you before you even arrive. You can't schedule in until they have your $. The MD I saw had a dog in her office, which is fine- I love dogs- but she walked over, took away my sheet of notes I wanted to ask (without asking me) and dumped the dog in my lap. Her boundaries are awful: shared so many of her personal details and also didn't miss a chance to extol her knowledge. She would ask a question of me, I'd answer, then I'd hear all about her personal connections with the subject. She badmouthed every MD I'd seen before, which is really unprofessional. She couldn't make up her mind which meds she wanted to change me to. Which is fine, but she should do that in her head, not out loud! I was so confused as to which meds I was increasing which I was keeping and what was new. A man knocked and barged into our session- it was obvious we were in session- door was shut and noise machine on- and she stopped our session and left the room to go chat with him. I received no printout as to the med changes- I called the next day to try to get them, and was told I'd have to go online to sign a HIPPA release to give myself my med info! I drove over, and they would not print out the med changes for me. Gave me the run around and wanted to charge me to print out the sheet, when I was just there 4 days before! I asked them to verbally just tell me the med changes they wouldn't. I didn't want my entire medical record, mind you, I just wanted to know what meds I was supposed to be taking. In the end the office manager overheard and I had to explain all again to her, and finally they printed it out and gave it to me. I could go on, but my advice is to avoid this place: Find a different psychiatrist, if you can. read more

I met with the Director of Operations for an initial entry 'interview' and I'm quite impressed. He was attentive, a solid listener and offered a helping hand with an open door policy. The lady that checked me in was very kind and quick to assist. I haven't read the most flattering reviews for Pinnacle and it's a shame because I had such a wonderful introductory into the practice when I went this morning. I sought out this center because I moved back to the area and needed to re establish care to continue managed care for my meds. I go elsewhere for social work (someone I'd seen years back whom I think the world of), and I will be having my first appt. with the NP in a few weeks. I wish I could give them negative stars. Absolutely horrible! Rude staff. The intake counselor was talking to another patient on the phone while i was in his office giving him my intake info, then proceeded to take a call from his wife and chat with her, while still taking my info. The "owner", Lora, really couldn't care less about resolving issues, and wouldn't even return my phone calls to help me. Privacy is of no importance, someone burst into the doctors office in the middle of my appointment to talk about the computer (I feel like that could have waited?), and the doctor talked to me like crap. When dealing with psychological issues, I feel like lack of judgement is important, as well as a respect for privacy, something this place knew nothing about. In short, if you want a medical staff who will be respectful of you, look elsewhere, this is NOT the place. read more

Sean Chapin is the only Doctor at this facility and has the disposition of a rabid dog. I went there because of severe anxiety and panic attacks which I have been treated for over the past fifteen years. I went there because my anxiety was worse and he actually cut the dosages of my meds. A few weeks later I had a personal crisis and went in to see him. I asked him to increase my meds to the dose I had been on for years for just two weeks to help me over the hump and he refused. Instead he suggested that if I didn't like his treatment I could get a different provider. If you're serious about your mental health do not see this doctor. read more

I had not read good reviews of Pinnacle Behavior Health but needed someone because I was new to the area and decided to try them. My first appointment I waited 45 minutes to get in. The second month I waited over an hour and when I had to reschedule because I had to get back to work, they were going to charge me for a skipped appointment. The nurse practioner I saw talked the entire next appointment about her children and their adventures and even apologized for taking up the entire time. I will not return and hope that others don't do as I did and ignore honest reviews. It was a waste of time and money. read more
