This place was a lot of fun. It was a gift from a dear friend. I really enjoyed my time! The studio is very spacious, very colorful. I feel like it's a very inspirational location. The teachers there were very nice and took the time to explain to us how to paint our best painting. They have plenty of items there to shop different types of canvases. They also sell art or supplies and wine bottles. I feel like this place is perfect for a couple's. Looking to find a new activity families to spend time with their kids or even to just go there by yourself and make something new. Overall. We did a work team building event with Pinot's Palette and our guide, Tori, was absolutely phenomenal. She was funny, engaging, and showed multiple techniques for the artwork so we could pick whichever one we liked best. While I will still never be an artist, it was a great event and we felt very fortunate to have such a great guide. read more

Pinot's Palette - Dulles is our "go to" for family fun! My daughter and daughter-in-law's sister came to town, and we decided to enjoy a paint and sip experience! It was perfect! The instructors are easy to follow, the atmosphere is celebratory, and the assistant engaged with everyone throughout the evening. We also picked out a few gifts in the cute shop which features local artisans and fabulous wines. There is no better venue for a girl's night out than Pinot's Palette! Robyn, in response to your comment about my cousin's review about our experience at Pinot's Palette this past weekend saying that she paid for 4 painters and 6 people showed up to paint is totally wrong! I asked the gentleman checking us in if I could stay to "watch" my 14 yr old daughter paint. He said yes and I could pull up a chair next to her. I didn't just show up wanting to paint for free. My cousin had her 7 yr old daughter who wanted to paint on her lap because she is a minor and what should a parent do? Just leave their child because she didn't pay for a seat. She wasn't the one painting, it was her daughter wanting to paint. I've taken my daughter to other paint shops and waited whiled they painted! I wasn't put out! These other painting businesses WELCOME everyone and all ages!! If this company is going to have such a strict age requirement and policies for a painting class then make it VERY CLEAR before or during the "check out" process and confirm the ages of all the painters before people pay their money and then show up with their children to the class and then get asked to leave because the children were under 16 years old. Also we said we were returning the next day and when I called to confirm you told me we can't bring the 7 yr old child with us. Really you said that she was 3 yrs old when she is actually 7 yrs old! I guess you will have to check birth certificates at the door to confirm ages. This business is NOT family friendly and I hope no one else will go thru this experience with their children! I'll be going back to MUSE Paintbar where children are welcomed!! read more

I did not think I would enjoy this, but, I was proven wrong. It was a lot of fun. I can't even draw a stick man, but they were able to walk you through painting a picture and it actually turned out ok. We went with a group of friends and had a great time joking around and drawing. Plus they have wine tasting, which helps the painting as the evening progress! I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different and fun! read more

I really love this place. The owner and artists are all extremely nice and welcoming. I've done a few canvases here and got my husband to come for a date night 2-canvas painting. So much fun to walk out with a finished product! I'm not artistically inclined but I can do these paintings with the simple instructions provided. We had the MOST AMAZING time at Pinot's Palette last night. My book club was looking for a fun holiday outing so we painted snowmen at Pinot's. The website is very informative and user friendly. Robyn was incredible at getting right back to me answering every little question I had. They have an expansive art selection and are all so beautiful (we chose Pinot's over a closer location because their art was so much nicer!). The studio is cheerful and friendly with great parking right out front. Christina was our instructor and was so personable and a great teacher (did I mention we're all current/former teachers?). Shyler assisted, helping us as needed and keeping our wine "tasting" glasses refilled. Wine tastings (2oz refillable) were included in the price and we could bring our own snacks or purchase food there. I honestly can't say enough about this place. I can't wait to go there again. It would also make a wonderful gift for anyone who enjoys painting (no talent needed ...... they take you step-by-step through the process). read more

Warning to families!! Check the age requirements before purchasing tickets. Apparently, on the home page Pinot's Palette posts a disclaimer of 16+ and 12+ age requirements for certain classes. However, when a user selects a class and completes a purchase, the age requirement is not displayed. In addition, the age requirement is not provided in the system generated confirmation email. I purchased tickets for Saturday of Mother's Day weekend for myself plus my daughter's ages: 7yr old, 13 yr old, 14yr old and 19yr old. We arrived Saturday at 6pm and were seated with aprons, taking pictures and looking forward to the class. Then we were told that we had to leave because the class was 16+yr old. Very disappointing. Robyn then "rescheduled" us for Sunday of Mother's Day weekend, but when I called to confirmed she explained that the class age requirement was 12+yr old. Given its Mother's Day, I was not going to exclude my 7yr old. Thus, I requested a refund but Robyn refused. Therefore, I'm escalating and filing a consumer complaint with the appropriate agencies. This is not acceptable that Pinot's Palette can charge $45 a ticket and not clearly state their refund policy or age requirements. read more

I love it here! My relaxation place...why didn't I think of a little gourmet wine and cheese shop attached to a place to paint my masterpieces!? I love it... they even do "lit" art (adding lights, not "getting LIT") Ha. Robin was working the day I was there and I left with more wine and cheese than I needed because she knows her wines! I bought a Carmenere (sp?) wine that she recommended and it was DIVINE!! I am going back for more! They have a mobile "art" studio too and can come to do private events ... thinking it would be such a great idea for a niece and nephew "party" for my family when they come to visit!! read more

Went yesterday with my daughter and mother-in-law and had such a lovely time. We went for a class where an instructor guides you to paint a specific painting but the nice thing is there is so much flexibility. You really can personalize what you paint and each one of us came away with a totally different work of art. Robin was such a great teacher and host. She made it so much fun and very relaxing for all of us. The wine tasting was a nice addition and perfect after a stressful day at work. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

I went on what I expected to be the quietest Sunday of the year for open painting meaning there was no instructor. It was the Sunday after the Fourth of July which falls on a Thursday. To my surprise there were several people there. It was such a wonderful atmosphere and I ended up painting something really nice. The women sitting across from me didn't seem to know each other but were engaging in casual friendly conversation so I eventually joined in and felt very welcomed. Everyone's paintings were so different. I was surprised how advanced some of the painters were. The young lady who was our hostess was incredibly sweet and helpful and attentive. I think she mentioned being somewhat new but it didn't show. She seemed to know a lot. One thing I didn't realize is that the canvas size during open paint is smaller than the usual 16 x 20 they do for their guided classes. It also means that those premade frames that they sell on the wall are not available for those little sizes so you would have to get something done custom. But no big deal. Also there is an option to do pour painting for $10 extra. Only one woman was doing this but it looked pretty cool. But apparently she had to come back on another day because it takes that long to dry. Overall a very fun therapeutic and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend. read more

Three of us went here for a beginner paint class. We were told that painting would begin on time at 7:00, so we needed to be there no later that 6:45 which we did. 7:00 rolled around and we were "asked" if we minded waiting for 5 minutes for a few late painters. They finally arrived around 7:10, then they each had to get their aprons and a glass of wine, so we didn't start painting until around 7:15! There were only 8 in the class, but 3 people were more experienced painters. Full disclosure, I have painted before, but not this style of painting and I have not painted in a few years. Our instructor, Hannah was very nice, but taught the class for the pace of the experienced painters (incredibly fast paced and we had already lost 15 minutes of painting time due to no fault of ours given we followed instructions and arrived 15 minutes early) which made it extremely frustrating for those of us who had never been there before. We were told the class was from 7-9:30, but Hannah was done teaching by around 9:00. Everybody, except us, had cleared out by 9:15. We left at 9:28 (yes, I looked at my watch because I felt so rushed). To make it even more frustrating, the instructor stood to the right of her painting the entire time. For us, this meant her canvas was completely covered, so we couldn't see what she was doing. Clearly she was "teaching" to the already experienced customers. I get that they were repeat customers, but given the chance, we might have been too (when we arrived, we were discussing who else we could bring). When we finally spoke up that we were completely lost, she tried to explain things, but seeing it as it was happening would have made it a better learning experience and a lot less frustrating. We were extremely rushed and those extra 15 minutes would have been very helpful. Giving us the full 2 1/2 hours we paid for would have been helpful too. We were the first to arrive and the last to leave, which pretty much says it all. She gave each of us a $25 gift card to try another painting class, which was nice, but teaching this class correctly and at the pace for a beginner painting class would have been even better. We might try it again given we each have a $25 gift card, but our first experience wasn't nearly as much fun as we had all been looking forward too. read more
