Did a google search for a place that sells Aloha shoyu and this was the 1st place that came up that was about a 20 - 30 minute drive from my daughter's place. We came here specifically for the Aloha shoyu and Hawaiian Sun juice to give my daughter a little piece of home (Hawaii) now that she is so far away and these items not easily accessible. The employees were very nice and were amused that we kept adding to our groceries as we stood in line cashing out. This will be a place to come for that little bit of Home. The staff is very nice and friendly and made shopping super easy and comfortable. Lots of variety from bottled items to fresh veggies, a bit of a smaller store but they carry a lot of produce and the noodle selection is very versatile. We come here for any asian goods that we would need since it is near our place. They have veggies, meat , baked goods and many more that you find in a bigger store. The young people who work there are very pleasant and helpful. I do get my balit or duck eggs here often. read more

I finally had a chance to comeback to stop by and get their halo halo again. They still sell them cheap while the flavor is still there compared to other Filipino store. The young ladies who work the register are always upbeat and very helpful. For a small store (mini market) they have the Filipino snacks down to a tee. All my faves were there. Very sad that I've purchased a few things and have found mold,things that has gone bad.Very Frustrating that you don't actually find it till you're like 25 minutes from the store. Growing up in Hawaii, my boyfriend REFUSES to consume any other brand of shoyu (soy sauce) other than the famous Aloha Shoyu. I searched high and low on the internet (Amazon was trying to charge me $28!) for locations in the Fort Worth / Dallas area that sell Aloha Shoyu with no luck. I did a searched on Yelp for Asian markets in the area and was so glad to find Van Tran Oriental Market! This was the third Asian grocery store we visited in the area and Van Tran Oriental Market is THE BEST! They offer a huge selection of Asian foods, spices, sauces, noodles, vegetables, snacks, candy, desserts, meats/seafood, bakery items, drinks, furikake, etc. The store itself was organized and VERY CLEAN, and the produce was top notch and FRESH! A huge plus in my book! Located conveniently close to an intersection we seem to pass through on the way to everywhere, Van Tran Market has become a favorite stop for items that we can only find here. My other half is frequently on the hunt for ingredients for Asian dishes and has come to think of Van Tran as the go-to place for quality and selection. We find seaweed snacks, Ponzu sauce, Soba noodles, Nori for sushi rolls, Ube ice cream, and more here. Recently we've come to enjoy Halo Halo, a unique and tasty frozen dessert that's Filipino in origin, common in Hawaii, and irresistible! I tried it one time at a Hawaiian restaurant in Keller that's no longer in business and was excited to see that Van Tran offered it. Check out the pictures to get an idea, but it's crushed ice with sweet milk, some syrup, jellies, dried fruit, custard, and a scoop of Ube ice cream. The list of ingredients might challenge your notion of dessert, but I can tell you this is one international dish that is worht trying at least once. It's tasty and sweet all the way to the bottom. If you live in the Keller or Fort Worth region the store is perfect for you because number one it's not far number two you're paying around the same prices but you're saving time and gas money. And that in my books is already worth it. They don't have everything but for the size of them they are absolutely perfect. They have Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino and other foods. I started out this review at 4 stars. It's a great little store and close to home. Certainly much closer than driving down to Belknap. My initial reasoning for four stars was that it is small and there is seemingly not much selection. But after talking to Thuy about the store she said they had everything she needed and wanted and not all the extra stuff she doesn't. Also missing from the stores on Belknap was the smell. This is a very clean and tidy store. There are no fresh meat and fish products but there are plenty of frozen meat and fish products. The lack of fresh protein means a much nicer little shop. the store does have a nice selection of produce, including all the necessary greens for proper Vietnamese cooking. I was also impressed by the quantity of snacks and frozen treats. For a small store I sure spent a lot of time looking at these. Even left with a bag of spicy shrimp crackers, that were some of the best I ever had. I think I tossed the bag, otherwise I would have uploaded a picture of that too. They were sweet and spicy. Delicious. Bottom line: Wish I had checked the place out sooner. I drove past it many times. Now I don't feel like the crappy$4 car wash (next door) was a total loss. read more

I haven't been inside the store since COVID, however I'm assuming the do the standard COVID procedures. I recently tried their Thai tea in the large which was delicious. The pricing is about the same as other tea establishments. There was a good balance of sweetness and flavor. It's a shame they don't add boba to their tea anymore. They have quite a selection of goods and drinks. I'll have to stop by here when I'm in the mood for milk tea. read more

Although Haltom City is not too far from me, it's nice to have a little Asian market closer by for those "need right now items." I have visited their previous location on Basswood Blvd a couple of times prior to this visit. They have now moved to a new location on N Beach St at Thompson Rd. If you're heading north, it is on the left hand side. My stupid map app steered me wrong. The current location sits in a new building that also houses a dental office and a future donut spot. Parking is a lot better than before, for now anyway. I came in on a Friday mid afternoon so it was not busy. Inside, it's obviously new and clean and much more roomier. The staff have always been friendly and that hasn't changed. The produce looks good for the most part and they have my beloved bitter melon. There's a wide variety of instant noodles, dry and fresh rice noodles, canned goods, snacks, drinks, etc. I can't speak much for the meats as I don't usually buy them at Asian markets in general. Just a personal preference. Overall, I like having this Asian market nearby. They carry a sizable inventory of your essentials at a decent price. You gotta pay for convenience right? Van Tran is the definition of "Little but mighty"! This may not be the biggest Oriental market around, but it's definitely one of my favorites. I love how they market as a Pinoy Pantry too, you can come get all your Filipino delights from here, from desserts to balut! First off, this store is so CLEAN and so Organized!! I've been to some markets where cleanliness is questionable, but not here. Never have trouble finding what I'm looking for either, great selection. The produce here is also the freakin' best, period. You can tell that whoever chooses them does it with the utmost care because the quality is always perfect . The veggies are consistently pristine, not bruised, squishy or old. Herbs are fresh and vibrant. I've yet to spot a moldy leaf or shriveled skin, etc. One of my fave things they sell is Halo-Halo! I grew up eating them with my mom and was stoked when I saw they make it. Very delicious, just how I remember it, shaved ice with all the traditional ingredients! Oh man it's so convenient that their is a vietnamese market opened in the keller area! The closest would be down fort worth! The produce and items here are a tad more expensive than usual but the quality is worth what you're paying. It is also convenient for many within the area. I also love that they have pre-made desserts and such great deals on the boba drinks! They cost a lot cheaper than leading boba shops! My favorite is their green-thai tea w boba drink!
