This is a fairly new Nepali grocery store in this area, and I've stopped by a few times now. The store itself is clean, well maintained, and organized, which I always appreciate. They may not have a huge variety of fresh vegetables and produce yet, but they do carry a good selection of Nepali dry foods, snacks, and essentials. They also offer fresh meat, which is a nice plus. In the back, they have a small restaurant area with a few seating options. I usually order takeout from there, mostly their momo. I will say the momo can be a little hit or miss depending on the day. About 80% of the time, though, they get it right and it's really satisfying. The achar/chutney that comes with it is also a bit inconsistent, but when it's good, it's really good. Overall, I'm happy to see more Nepali businesses opening in the area and look forward to seeing them continue to grow. read more

The food was prepared fresh while I waited for pickup. We got gobi Manchurian, butter chicken, saag paneer& shrimp korma. All were delicious. The gobi was a little too saucy and spicy for me but overall a great place with great food. The kitchen staff were friendly as well. Give them a try. read more

The inside was super clean and organized. The food is a 10/10, the chef took his time to explain the menu and also said he uses natural sweeteners like dates and raisins instead of sugar which was a huge positive. Got the butter chicken and garlic naan, taste was delicious and not spicy at all or overly sweet. Also tried their samosas they said they make them in house and it was wonderful. Our taste buds were awakened following our lunch time visit to Spice and Slice on North Beach. The restaurant is located in the parking lot with a church and several other businesses. The restaurant is at the back section of a Nepalese grocery store. All food is prepared fresh, so it is not off the shelf like a fast food restaurant. That gives you time to walk through the store and try to determine if your culinary expertise is capable of incorporating some of the Nepalese ingredients into a meal. For entrees, we ordered Butter Chicken, Choila Tacos, Chicken Chilli and Garlic Naan. To finish off the meal, we were given Murai Ko Laddu. In American terms they were Rice Crispy balls. (Puffed Rice and Jaggery Syrup) But they were much more tasty. Google the term and read the history of when and where it is prepared. The tacos were made with goat meat and the flavors make Taco Bell look like beginners, I asked the chef to have mercy on me with the spice level, therefore I survived with a little above average burn, I enjoyed every bite. The chef was also accommodating and prepared the butter chicken with white meat instead of thighs. We had ample food for another meal. This is definitely a place we will return and experiment on some of their other flavors. read more

We have been there twice, and both times, the food has been impeccable and service has been pretty amazing. They have a cozy little seating area where you can enjoy the food while their butcher shop preps your choice of meat to take home. Spice and Slice is ready to fill the niche for a one stop shop for desi food, grocery and meats. Take a trip to Nepal without leaving the neighborhood! I stopped in to explore with a friend who'd never had Nepalese (or even Indian) food; I've loved it for years, and we were both delighted. The owner & chef helped me identifiy gluten-free options, and I settled on Chicken Tikka Kabob & Piro Aaloo (without the fiery spice). It came with rice, and the tender, appropriately portioned chicken was prepared with thinly sliced, multi-colored bell peppers, green onion and of course a fragrant mix of spices. The potato chunks were sauteed to perfection in spices, browned at the edges and tender in the middle. I appreciated the customization. (The chef came by to make sure I was happy because the dish is usually spicier.) This is a grocery store (fresh halal meats and fresh veggies, large selection of frozen ethnic foods, spices and more) with a "deli counter" type kitchen and small seating area in the back, not a service-driven, sit-down restaurant; but the co-owner and employees went out of their way to make us feel at home, tending to our dining needs and even showing us around the store while our meal was cooking, aswering our questions and sharing a bit of his history and his vision for making sure the store and kitchen meet the community's needs. In the eating area, a TV monitor runs continuous, panoramic scenes of Napal's stunning cities, countryside and mountains. Sagar, the co-owner, answered our questions about his homeland and culture and shared his family's mountain climbing adventures. So it was like taking a day-trip to a distant land while enjoying delicious food and making new friends! What a delightful and unexpected surprise on my July 4th afternoon! I will say, because I want these young men to succeed, that most customers expect them to be diligent about keeping the tables and chairs wiped perfectly clean and napkins restocked between guests. And I did not care for the portable fan blowing cool air on my hot food (so I turned it off. Sorry! I meant to turn it back on before leaving and forgot.). But I sure appreciated the hospitality they showed us in getting us seated and situated, making us feel at home the whole time and serving up a delicous meal. Bravo! Ordered delivery and I've had these items before from a different place but this was something else. I tried the panipuri, it wasn't my style but that doesn't factor that the soup they gave me and the panipuri filling were cold. I moved onto the butter chicken excitedly and was let down as soon as I opened it. It was half oil. I've had butter chicken before and it has never looked like that. I was very disappointed especially after order $35 of food for myself and I can't even stomach it. I had to soak up the oil with paper towels to eat some of it. Very disappointed. I've been to multiple Indian places. This is the best so far. Flavor is on point, price is cheaper compared to others, and portion sizes are more than enough. You can sit in to eat but don't get server service and it's within a store so it is small. It gives what I would imagine is authentic. I got the goat biryani spice level medium wasn't spicy to me.The samosas, the garlic naan, momos everything was delicious! read more
