These guys are awesome!! From start to finish they did a great job. Zach contacted me the next day after I requested a quote on their website. He came out and shared his honest thought on what we should do. We have never had professional painters before and he walked us through what to expect. We had everything from the trim to ceiling to the doors (the doors we added after we saw how bad they looked in a freshly painted room). Our house had a ton of different dark colors they had to cover they managed to do it. They also replaced several pieces of trim work. I really liked that you don't pay upfront and you don't pay until you are happy. Also their pricing is very reasonable. We got quotes from other companies and theirs was the best. Also there team was amazing, we had a family emergency while the painter were here and they dropped what they were to help me. Beware, this business will give you the runaround - tell you they are coming and won't show up. Tell you a story that they thought they said a different day. Not true. Then say it rained so they got behind on another job, but never communicated that they were not going to come to your job as scheduled. These guys were great. I needed a pergola and a gazebo painted and re-do the screens in the gazebo I called them for a quote, after meeting I didn't even get another quote. They were very reasonable. Duke, a member of the firm, came and did an outstanding job. The screens for the gazebo (I suspect were a DYI project) were in a mess. Let me tell you I could not have wanted a better job. I found through Angi and from the minute I talked to Brian, I knew I found the right company for me! After selecting "Nebulous White" (I know, I choose colors based on name meaning to be symbolic lol) the crew were able to get in right after my flooring was done and transform every room and the ceiling into a bright, joyful space! Even when there were touchups needed, the guys came back to make sure it was to my liking without a hassle. I don't think my experience was typical of their business at all. 6 day job took 2 weeks and SO much stress. I need to include for context that I'm a single woman living alone. One man from the first crew was verbally abusive. He made racist and sexist remarks from day one, changed his clothes in front of me, put me down many times, and called me to the other room every 5 minutes. He was rude to the other worker and they both were completely disorganized. I don't think the boss knew when they were at the job or not, and they took a million cigarette breaks. The project manager was kind and helped me put tape on the walls for colors. Racist guy removed the tape color label pieces, then got mad not knowing what color went where. He asked twice what color a wall was, then started painting the wrong color. I corrected him, he finished it wrong. I tried to be tolerant, wanting the job DONE. He called my cell to tell me he bought me a cheeseburger, the lack of boundaries was incredibly awkward. He'd stand around giving opinions on what he'd do like knock down walls or changing a light so my 'fiance or boyfriend' wouldn't hit his head. He offered to call and pretend to be my husband so I wouldn't get ripped off by contractors. Towards the end he kept calling me grouchy, while I was neutral trying to not encourage inappropriate behavior. The more I tried to be uninvolved, the more I was called over for him to put me down, complain, or mansplain. I was uncomfortable leaving my house, and reminded them to keep the outside doors and bedroom door shut for my cats. He said it was "just womanly maternal instinct". I came home to outside and bedroom open. He complained that I had packages delivered. While I put together a chair, he said Chinese people purposely give bad directions because they "don't use chairs". Deflecting the racism, I said I just missed a step. He scoffed, "JEEZE you're like a 5 year old" all while my handyman was there. At that point I couldn't have him in my house again. On top of all this, these first two men were doing a sloppy and painfully slow job. I had to push back carpet installation etc causing more stress. When 2nd crew came, week 2, they said it was in the top 3 worst jobs they had to fix and only 1/4 of the work was done (if that). The owner was still rudely defensive at this point. New crew was professional and polite, and listened. Painting skill was as expected but they couldn't fix every mistake. I had asked a few holes from jacks etc be patched and filled, and unfortunately this crew left behind an unbelievable mess. When "done", they didn't glance at the final checklist for the job, walk through or cleanup. They used a VERY old oil based primer in my unvented laundry closet without sealing it. I thought it was mold or sewer gas because of how sick it made me. Finally found the rusted old oil paint can under the low VOC I requested. Trash was everywhere, green tape, and plastic left on my things. The first crew left a caulking gun in the box with my blankets. There was paint literally all over the carpet and floors, kitchen mat ruined, paint/scratches on my new dishwasher and fridge, rust stain in my sink, piles of dust from patch jobs, nails strewn about, razor blades, paint got on my stair railings and new curtain hooks. Some walls show "flashing" (second crew didn't know, but didn't even look). Where first crew taped the baseboards unevenly, white comes up on to the walls. Where there are corners with color changes, some lines are sloppy. I emailed the project manager asking if they send a cleanup crew. She listened to my issues, saying it was wrong and not typical, as the crew should follow the final walk through checklist with the customers. The company later apologized via email when realizing the extent of things. They offered to replace anything damaged, send someone to fix paint, pay for a professional cleaning crew to come in, etc to make it right but at this point I was so exhausted I just wanted this ordeal over, and declined. I cleaned everything, and broke my vacuum in the process because it clogged with drywall dust. I ended up, rightfully, paying nothing because the experience and result was so bad, it ended up costing me other expenses and health. 2 Stars for effort offering to fix the problems, and for not charging. read more

The entire exterior of my home was recently painted by Pinpoint Painting. I had the ugliest house on the street, part aluminum siding and part peeling wood siding. My house now looks GORGEOUS!!! I cannot thank Zak and Pinpoint Painting enough. Not only is the work excellent but the team and my foreman were absolutely amazing. They are the most professional, kind and hardworking people I have seen in a long time. I am completely blown away by their work ethic and professionalism. There was an initial issue with the paint formula and I had no idea. My foreman identified it, brought it to my attention, and corrected it to be sure everything was perfect. They cleaned everything up daily, gave me updates and were sensitive to my schedule and other contractors. I cannot say enough great things about Pinpoint Painting. They are true professionals. I hired Pinpoint to paint a knotty pine dining area. It was a tedious project, but painter Paul took his time in prepping the room properly so that the wood did not bleed through the paint. The end result was fantastic - the room is light and bright. Paul was respectful, professional, and very knowledgeable about the techniques for this project. In a nutshell: The Pinpoint Painting team, and the owner, Zach, are honest and hard working. They're some of the most professional contractors I've dealt with. Zach is very good about replying to emails and phone messages. My interior paint job was not an easy one for two reasons. First - The home itself. It's a home from the 1950s and there were cracks in the walls and a chunk of ceiling had fallen down. The rooms are tight to work inside of. For example, our kitchen is pretty small and crammed with shelves, etc. Second - I admit I'm picky when it comes to painting. I notice missed spots, uneven lines between wall and ceiling, paint on wood trim where it doesn't belong, etc. Zach and his team worked to make sure all these little details were done properly. And they gladly came back to touch up things we noticed in different lighting conditions. With painting, no matter how careful you are, inevitably there will be a bit of touch up required. It speaks to Zach and Pinpoint Painting's integrity that even after they were paid, they continued to deliver EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Come, gather 'round all. It's time for true tales from Cara's Story Corner. Today's story is about an Ohio City home, built in 1890, that needed an exterior paint job--and fast. To the interwebz we searched for a trustworthy, locally-owned painting company that specialized in older homes. But when we noticed the house directly behind us was also being painted (really, really meticulously), we introduced ourselves. You see--we'd been searching for a while and had found great companies--but none that accepted credit card payments. And really, writing a check for thousands of dollars really didn't sound awesome. Beyond that--we waited until October to start reaching out. Most every company had a full schedule until winter starts. Pinpoint Painting was the only company who was immediate in their response, worked to squeeze us into the season AND took credit cards. At first we were just happy with all that--but then the job started. Let's be honest here... getting your house painted isn't fun, especially when you have a barky dog and you work from home. And then think of the guys out there, in the cold, unpredictable fall weather. Not fun. But from the time Zach, Mike and his team of (great) guys started the job, they were not only a joy to have around, but they busted their asses to make sure the job was done right and efficiently. We couldn't have asked for cooler guys. I'm talking "feel like you've known them since elementary school" kind of guys. Freezing winds or sleet? They were still up on those ladders, scraping, sanding and making sure our finished product would only induce the happiest of feelings. Along the way they offered to paint large sections to see if we liked the ways the colors were grouped and even offered to redo them over again if we didn't like it. I just can't say enough great things about these guys! Some more positives: - Project management. I'm not even sure if these guys really even needed it, but the project was managed by Zach and everything went super-smoothly. IF they had to step away for a day due to rain or if they had to just quickly finish another job, they'd make sure our's was on track and schedule the next day with me. - Sprayers 'n sanders. Old homes are tricky and so is original siding. These guys took some time to make sure the scraping and sanding was done right and spots that needed filled were filled. On top of that, they use paint sprayers, which get much more paint evenly coated onto the surface of the house--THEN followed up with the brush afterwards to bring out the natural grain of the wood. - Clean-up: They really tried to contain the paint chips as much as possible. They brought shop vacs, tarps, the works. You never really know with old paint, so you have to be careful--and they were. - Details, details, details: Again, we have an old home with lots of little details that needed to be painted. These guys tackled these things NO PROBLEM. No complaints, no half-assed work. - Billing/Invoicing: Can be done in 2 or 3 payments. Nice. As a former construction executive, I can tell a great contractor when I see one, and the entire Pinpoint Painting team is one of the best I've worked with. From their speedy response to our initial inquiry, to completion of the exterior painting of our home and two barns, it took less than two weeks. Unbelievable, especially considering they also handled some miscellaneous carpentry work that needed to be done before they could finish painting. We were kept informed all the way from estimate to start of the project and then the guys doing the work were friendly, conscientious and expeditious - as good as any I've had the pleasure of working with. We had to get some exterior painting done due to violations with the city of cleveland heights (sigh). Of course, I procrastinated. I just could not get excited about exterior painting. Thus, a mildly frantic search ensued towards the end of exterior painting season. Pinpoint was able to fit us is in, quoted less than a second company I had out for an estimate, and finished the job in one day. The painters where nice and helpful. The only negative was when they left we. Noticed our gate was hanging off the hinges - luckily we were able to fido it when a few hammer strokes, but it would have been nice if they gave us a head up! read more

Pinpoint did a fantastic job painting our house in North Ridgeville (entire first floor: kitchen, living room, foyer, sitting room, dining room, powder room; and second floor hallway, master bedroom and master bathroom). One thing I noticed from the beginning is respect of our house when Zach took his shoes off when coming in for the estimate. Not all of the painters we had out did that. The consultation was smooth and quote was reasonable (not the cheapest but not the most expensive either). I'd advise everyone to take advantage of their designer. We had ideas of what color palette we wanted but still kept an open mind and she threw out some great ideas and colors, especially with our dining room which everyone says how great it looks with the color she helped us pick. The painters themselves were on time every morning, very nice and personable and cleaned up every day. My wife and I felt comfortable going to work while they were in the house working each day. They were also very fast, getting the entire job done in four days. Our house was not an easy job either since we have bullnose walls (rounded edges at pretty much every entryway between rooms) and instead of just painting to the pointed edge of a normal wall, they had to have a precise line at the rounded edge when applying a different color for the next room. They did a phenomenal job on the lines and transitions between rooms with different color paint. After they were done, we noticed a couple spots where there was a gaps from the tape around some woodwork and tile. They were out within a couple of days to touch them up with no issue. I would recommend Pinpoint to anyone I know looking for a painter. Everything they did was professional and top notch, the entire experience was extremely stress-free, and the work was excellent. read more

At first the one of the owners was very nice until was time to pay the bill. Colors turned it very nice but the patch job was bad. My house was painted in summer time cracks showing up on the second floor. I had to ask them to fix paint job in some room because the contractors painted one side doors but not the other. Since they sprayed instead of painting with rollers. You can see walls not covered in every room. They came one time but did not fix what I asked and never came back for second time. My mistake was paying them most of the money on time. Although it comes with two year warranty I cannot believe that they will actually come if they never did show up to complete painting in the for the first time. Really expensive read more
