I've used Toth Painting 3 times over the last 6 years for both exterior and interior painting projects. I've always been VERY satisfied with their work. My latest project was for multiple drywall and paint repairs in an older home. The painter showed up on time every day, worked diligently and explained everything to me. (He even matched existing paint colors and fixed a textured ceiling so well that I can't even spot the repairs.) We had our wallpaper removed and interior painting done in our master bedroom and bath a few months ago. Last month we had the wallpaper removed and interior painting done in our great room, sunroom, kitchen, hallway and utility room. The service and professionalism was exemplary. The crew of young people (Nick, Breyton, Brittany, Christian and Ray) was very pleasant and a joy to have around. They did a great job taking off the old pesky Italian paper in the great room. The joint compound and paint was peeling from the inside walls and ceiling of my garage. Two workers from Toth Painting Solutions came out, Brittany and Breyton, and the work was completed in just a little over one day. The walls and ceiling look great now. We hired Kristopher Toth, dba Toth Painting Solutions, in May 2021 for work at our home beginning in August 2021. This was a large interior painting job, valued at over $20,000. As a result of our experience, we do not recommend Toth Painting Solutions and would rate this business zero stars if possible. From before the project began, Kristopher would not respond to our questions about the project in writing via email. This was in hindsight was the first red flag. As the project began, I was never given a way to contact the job foreman, Dave, so I assumed I was doing the right thing in emailing questions to Kris. There were also some discrepancies in the contract, and since it was an expensive and large project - painting all walls, ceilings, and trim in an over 2000 SF home - I felt communication is very important. Details really do matter. However, Kris apparently did not feel the same and yelled at me on the phone because I sent him emails! He made it crystal clear I was bothering him by contacting him. In addition, we were assured before the project began that our family's safety during the Covid19 pandemic would be prioritized, but that did not happen either. On one day, there was a crew of 5 inside our home all on the first floor and in our kitchen. Personal items were left on our furniture and kitchen counter, including drink bottles and other personal effects, and no one was wearing a mask. This made me uncomfortable, so I asked that the workers could please wear masks while inside our personal home. I immediately got push back from Kris who said that wearing makes it hard on his workers. Kris's solution, we find out later, was to cut his crew to 2 men instead of 5, thus doubling the time for the project's completion, and still not honoring my request to wear masks. Regarding organizing, Kris came to our home on a Wednesday (an hour late) to go over extra items we wanted to add onto the project. At that time, it was determined that our kitchen cabinets were to be taken the following Monday, so that we would have time to remove the entire contents of our kitchen. But that did not happen in spite of our prep work. Instead the following week, the foreman went upstairs and started doing closet trim work and wanted us to stop working to take items out of closets. If just *a little planning* could have taken place, our lives would have been made easier. But it was clear again in person and on the phone that Kris didn't seem to have any empathy as to the disruption such a large project would have on our lives, as well as complained that the jobsite was too away. All this proceeded to do is make me feel bad, like our project was an inconvenience. As far as the work itself, his crew did not want to take down anything on the walls, including a small safety chain on the garage door-frame. It was our responsibility to remove light fixtures, the bathroom mirror, and other items on the walls. We were also told after the job started that they would not do drywall repair in the stairwell. The results were paint on our wall hangings and fixtures, and white trim paint bleeding onto our new vinyl plank flooring because they used masking tape instead of painters' tape. Then one day, Dave the foreman said he and his other worker had to leave early to go to a dentist appointment. However, after they left, we noticed they took all their equipment. As it turns out, Kris told me on the phone later that day that his crew was not returning to finish the work as contracted. He was abandoning us, but still had 9 of our interior doors at his shop. Imagine the panic! In my opinion, that's not how a true professional conducts himself. We were led to believe Kristopher Toth was a better contractor, but we couldn't be more disappointed and discouraged by his behavior. We looked to this Kristopher to guide us on such a large investment, but instead this business owner has shown us he places greater value on making an easy dollar than doing a job well done. Now we have to assess the damage, hire professional cleaners to clean our home, and find a replacement painting company which will take months. If this happened to us, it can happen to you. read more

I called to get an estimate for an interior paint job. As soon as I told the lady on the phone I was an investor she completely changed her tone and told me they don't work with investors. She then said their prices are much higher than others. I have bought countless homes in several states and this is the first time anyone simply refused to give a bid. Best painters in town! Kris the owner is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He's honest and sincere. Very professional. I had my two story foyer painted. The two man crew was polite, respectful and very professional. They got the job done in one day and did an excellent job. I love my foyer it looks beautiful! I had a couple companies provide quotes to paint wood trim and a stair case white and Toth offered a competitive quote. I am very detail oriented and have high standards so typically do most work myself but was looking for a professional for this job due to the expected time it would take me to complete to my standards. Kris was prompt and had a crew quickly complete the job in just two days but I felt like they rushed to complete and were not as thorough as I or some other professionals may have been. For example, other companies mentioned caulking around all molding and filling dents and scratches prior to painting. I did not ask Kris about this and the crew simply painted over surface defects, resulting in a finished look less desirable than what I hoped for. There were also several areas I noticed with incomplete coverage where the wood color is still visible and runs on spindles. You can see these flaws in the attached pictures. They are not easily noticeable when passing by but still defects that I would have corrected if I was doing the job myself. While it was great to have the project done quickly and at a price I felt was reasonable, overall I was not as satisfied with the outcome as I hoped. I think Toth is a great option if budget is a primary concern but for a high quality result I would consider other contractors. read more
