We stopped at this lovely shop in Black Rock, Bridgeport looking for a shirt we had asked someone the night before where he had purchased it-Pious Bird! We were able to get 2 shirts of the Brigeport candy cane smoke stack, which was fantastic. It's a thing now. The store also has some gorgeous antiques, crystals, cards and locally made items. The store is well laid out and there are some great finds. The staff was so friendly and helpful. On street parking. Definitely stop by! read more

The owner of Pious Bird has a great eye for quality and artistry. Many of the items are handmade in Connecticut, with an emphasis on products by Black Rock craftspeople. I like the paintings of local spots around the neighborhood, including scenes from our beloved St. Mary's by the Sea. I also appreciate the selection of unique notecards, jewelry, antiques and housewares. On a recent visit, I was searching for gifts for friends and bought locally made hot/cold packs filled with flax seeds. My friends loved them! read more

Why are all the positive reviews suppressed? That's very strange! Well hopefully my review will help this lovely little store and it's wonderful owner. I loved the furniture store that was in the same spot many years ago so stopped into Pious as it brought me fond memories of some unique pieces I still own (note they are moving down the road June 2019 to larger digs). I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by crystals, tarot cards and gem jewelry in addition to other cool objects, furniture and Knick knacks. Plus, the energy is phenomenal too. Please support your local businesses like Pious, who is in turn supporting local artisans. Why anyone would want something mass produced is beyond me. read more

I love this little store! She has such an amazing array of Connecticut sourced goods. Many one of the kind finds, that you just can't find any other place. Desiree carries items from some of the local arts and farmers market/fairs. Items that are carried no place other than from the vendor directly.
