This review is for the bar/restaurant only. Food was OK. The worst party was the service. I believe we got the worst waitress at the place. Probably the worst waitress I have had in the past 20 years, maybe more. I believe she was a New England transplant based on her accent. She didn't split the check even though this was explained at the beginning. She brought a Coke out that looked like a tea and had to be reminded 3 times to bring a new one. Missed one of the drink orders and had to be reminded twice on that. Didn't check on the table that often even though we were her only table at the time. read more

This is for the restaurant. Labor Day weekend. Before we even sat down, Reese, went above and beyond to make us feel so welcomed. Ok, Pirates cove is a nice little spot off the River. Fantastic sand beaches line the north side and than right at the restaurant the sand starts on that side. So for parking you can't complain one bit . In the middle of the summer it's packed boat to boat and people are having a great time . They have a water taxi that's free that goes from side to side and has I think 4 pickup and drop off locations. This is a nice free service . The restaurant is very nice with a nice view from the outside patio area anywhere you sit. This is another perk which I like. The food is ok not 5 star dinning and it is what I expected. The prices are what you excepted to be basically that far from town. The drinks my wife and daughters boyfriend had where good and the bartender did a good job. We were here yesterday, very few people were here but I can't complain one bit. The launch ramp is great with 7 slots available. Overall they will get my business again . Try it out ! read more

BAR REVIEW Ever since I was introduced to this place we have been stopping on our way to Laughlin, NV for a bucket of alcohol. We also ate there on our most recent visit. We got for the Flying Dutchman bucket for $30, which tastes like Orange Julius. I had the club sandwich, which was awesome. My dad had a pretty good reuben. I was going to stay with a large group of friends at the Moabi park over the weekend so I was very psyched by the fact that the best rated bar in the area according to Yelp was actually in a walking distance (now, that's what I call convenience). As some other reviews pointed out the place looks great and pretty brand new and someone spent a lot of time and attention to every little detail. It was Friday night and the staff was extremely friendly (in addition to our waitress two or three members of the staff, maybe the owner, stopped by to ask us how we're doing and if they can do anything else for us). The food was also good though I expected more variety in the menu based on the appearance of the place. I especially liked the buffalo wings and the Greek salad but all my friends who had burgers liked them as well. Now, why after all these good reviews I'm giving 4 stars - two reasons: 1. I never check the bill at the end (though I should) but one of my friends didn't want to share it and while reviewing we found 3 mistakes. The waitress gladly addressed them (basically crossing the additional items) but I end up having this bad taste - I can ignore one mistake but not three... 2. We get beach front cabins for a week every year for the past three years. This year the gas pumps are open 24/7 because they now accept credit or debit cards. Makes fueling up a log easier at the end of the day when all the crowds have left. Coming home to a nice air conditioned cabin is always create and I've never had any problems with my boat one of their 300 slips. The seaweed was kinda bad this year, but i'll be back next year for sure. read more

Decided to stay here mid week to avoid weekend crowds and was very pleased with my camping spot on the peninsula. Shuttle service from camp site to resort is soooo convenient. Had dinner at the restaurant and food and drinks were good. My hubby and a friend of mine have food allergies and the chef was able and willing to accommodate us. Staff was friendly at check in and launch ramp was easy for me as a beginner to not be afraid to put a boat on the trailer. read more

They even offer a shuttle to get you to what ever part of the resort you are staying. So you can drink responsibly or not.. Below is my original review but the general manager called me today and completely corrected the situation. As a client services manager myself I respect and appreciate the call, and that he is having a meeting with his staff to correct this from happening again. My family and friends will remain loyal campers to Pirate's Cove and we have and will continue to enjoy all the amenities that the resort has to offer!!! We have stayed at this campground over 6 times this year and spent well over $1000 at this facility (not to mention the 4 groups of friends that we have brought with us)and I called to move my reservation (not cancel but move) and they are going to charge me $65 which is more than one night's stay which is ridiculous. As a result they have lost a repetitive customer and our friends that camp with us! read more

Quite the hidden gem! Staying with some friends in nearby Lake Havasu, we jumped in the boat, cruised up the Colorado River, and pulled into a little cove off the river where the new Pirate Cove Resort is located. At first I thought it was just a new over priced housing development for rich people wanting a vacation home near the water. (seriously, the HOA dues alone for these places are $800/mn!) But I was pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant located in this resort is open to the public, and anything but stuffy. They have a fantastic outdoor bar, and even a patio area right on the sand where you can pull your boat in and eat. (You can also drive here if you don't have a boat by the way) The ambience is great. Views of the water everywhere, nice beach music playing, slight breeze. You kind of feel like you're in Key West or something. For a touristy place on the beach, I expected it to be way over priced and have bad food. But once again appearances deceived me. (when will I learn?) The burgers were huge, freshly griled, and juicy. Very good. Everyone I was with really liked their meal too, so the quality here seems to be very good. But the menu is very limited. Basically burgers, pizza, chicken, salads, basic appetizers, etc. I was disappointed there weren't more fresh seafood options since they are right on the water, but what they do have is very tasty. So it's not a big deal. The prices were fair too. My entire bill with food and drink, tax and tip was $18. The service was outstanding. Very attentive and quick. Drinks were constantly refilled, and they checked on us often. Our boat needed some quick repairs, so they let us sit there for hours and kept checking to see what they could bring us. Stopped here passing through because we saw the sign from the freeway and my nephew is obsessed with pirates. It was really cute and clean and looked fun. We dipped our feet in the water and it was very refreshing. One of my dogs thought so too. The other was too scared. One negative is the red ants on the beach. Girl at the boutique was sweet and went out of her way to get the golden pirate guns hanging high on the wall that my nephew wanted. They were the last ones and were adorable decorations. Now they belong to Cosmo. I got a super soft turquoise dress at 1/3 off the price that perfectly matches all my new jewelry from New Mexico! I would have loved to try that cool zipline! I love a zipline....but we had to get home. Gentleman washing the company vehicles was kind and let me use the hose to wash my brave dog's muddy paws from the cool dip in the water. Went to Pirate Cove last weekend. Took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Food is mediocre at best. Worst part was from our table, I had a clear view into the kitchen. I watched a waitress carry out a plate of food and as she exits the kitchen, I see her eat from the plate. She then delivers it to a customer at a table outside. WTH!? Gross. At Pirate Cove a party of six=$115.00 plus tip. Chemhuevi Indian casino on Lake Havasu=$40.00 plus tip and the food is the same if not better. We won't be back to Pirate Cove. read more

Dock Rental Slip Big Rip off don't pay for it! Labor day 2015 We paid for dock rental slip, and they allowed anyone to use it. So when you come off the water from your day your slip is being used by a boater they never paid for it! They even put our boating things on the top of the dock. So don't waste your money paying for a dock rental they allow everyone to use them that doesn't pay for them. We noticed a 1966 fishing boat had a reserved sign on his dock space!!!!!!!!!!! The service was awful at the bar, and food okay!!!!!!!!!!!Service very bad!!!!!! I can't give a 1 star review due to the fact that the camping spots are amazing . The staff however is no Bueno . The blonde woman in the shack up by the gate was terribly rude and passive aggressive. When we first arrived we made our way through the gate because it was open . We had left & returned . Upon return the woman explained that there were only to be 2 parking spots per camping spot . The fact that I was asking to go there meant I had to pay an additional $20 . Ok , but this is where I was offended . She said she was going to send staff over to our camp area to make sure there weren't more than 2 + myself , and if there was she was going to have them ticketed . Who the heck are you ? Idea place for families to stay and play. Full rv hook ups and ever sport is nice. Many right on the water. You can pay and get a private slip for your boat. There is a restaurant and bar on site and no matter where you are in the resort they have a shuttle at run near all campsites so you don't have to drive and drink. Stayed in cabin, way over priced No bakeware in cabin, TV remote batteries dead, some lightbulbs burnt out Front office people are all rude no urgency in people's need. Public showers cost $, if you want to use the pavilion you have to pay to rent it. When I booked the cabin 4 months ago I asked for the "VIP" pacakage. (Free bucket of beer & a bag of ice) when I got there they said "oh it's a holiday you can't have the vip package" I left on Friday March 30. What holiday? Good Friday? Really? The park itself was well maintained, i always saw workers cleaning. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars otherwise I would've given it a 1 Star I would NOT recommend this park to anyone read more

We went to pirates cover restaurant for dinner yesterday on our boat Our food took a while but I have to give props when that are due Our waitress (I did not get her name shame on me) was excellent But what really made the wait was that the manager Steve Burgess (hope I last name correct) came over and apologized for the wait corrected the issue in the kitchen plus he ordered a bucket or margarita for us at no cost and if that is not enough he took some off the bill! Now ,that is what I am talking about ,great service He and the waitress were amazing took care of us and wished us a happy anniversary. Review is for the restaurant The location is awesome, we boated in, docked and walked right up to eat. Enjoying the view in the open outdoor section of the restaurant was cool. The location is the extent of anything good about this place. The wait for ordering and getting our food was FOREVER. The food was horrible. I got a turkey sub type sandwich, the bread was horrible and the rest was just had no flavor. I gagged down some just because i was starving. My son got mac and cheese off the kids menu, which was easy mac that prbly was sitting in the back the whole time we were waiting for our food. Everything was way overpriced, maybe if we had better service and better food the price wouldn't of been upsetting. My husband was so excited to finally go there after hearing how cool it was.
