This focuses solely on the lunch service at the city's Grand Hotel. During lunch this place is fairly busy as a lot of people eat lunch here. I've eaten here on several occasions, mostly due to either the pressure of my peers ("but come on, the food is ok!" and so on) or the simple fact of a growling stomach bellowing out "hungry" to be heard by innocent bystanders. But it has never impressed me. It feels old, outdated, and way past its prime. I don't mind a dining room with a classical feel with chandeliers, heavy red velvet drapes, dark wooden walls, thick red carpets on the floor etc., just as long as it is kept fresh and vibrant. But this place oozes of nothing more than something that went out of style more than fifty years ago and it ain't coming back. Sadly, the food follows in the same tracks. Served in boring trays with plastic leads over a water bath with none of it even the slightest look of appetizing even if I were to squint at it. The food is your average run-of-the-mill boring-to-the-teeth buffet that inspires none of the senses but only leaves you slightly nauseous walking out. I remember from another review I once wrote I uttered "borderline disgusting". This place fits that bill too. Stay away. read more
