Dr Wong and his team have been understanding and empathetic when it came to dealing with my thalamic pain syndrome that resulted from the stroke. He referred me to a terrific neurologist who confirmed the condition and was willing to work with me on some alternative pain resolutions. This doctor was willing to listen to my symptoms and expand his own knowledge on my condition in order to help. He learned with me! I haven't truly come across a professional like this in my 60 years. I value a high level of listening skills and empathy when it comes to any partner in my medical care. Both Dr Wong and Dr Kalafut (neurologist) were willing to dig deeper into my syndrome and support my decisions while keeping me on a much more healthy path! The only reason I won't be seeing him on a regular basis any longer is because I am relocating to the Midwest. They accepted me midway through my pregnancy which was amazing because I moved to SD at 30 weeks pregnant. At my prenatal appointments the midwives were thorough, respectful, friendly, and never seemed rushed. The building itself was cozy and I never had issues parking. I ended up barely making it to the birth center before my baby was born (my fault for waiting too long), but Erina, my midwife, was so calm, direct, and encouraging. They were so respectful of my wishes and gave us space and time as a family of three after my baby was born. I would hands down birth here again if it opens!
