Yeah, I had that craving for pizza. Don't we all get it at some point?! With Pizza E Mozzarella Bar looking small on the outside walking in was a surprise seeing the super large seating area and the cosy heat of the pizza oven being on, super toasty! At the time we arrived it was lunch time which meant it was busy but the waiter never failed to forget us. By taking us to our seats, bringing us a jug of water and not taking long to take our order, yay! I was already happy with the service. I decided to order the Maiale with included salami, porchetta, cacciatore. It arrived hot, smelling amazing and HUGE! Now the pricing of the pizza is expensive once you look at the menu but once you actually order it, let me just say I wish they offered halves but it was so good I'm glad they don't ha! Overall I totally understood why they called it a mozzarella bar, the mozzarella was to die for. Should defiantly just make a pizza of just the mozzarella and I'll be a happy customer! Either way, I left Pizza E Mozzarella Bar feeling like I served my craving, full with smiles all around. Will be back!

    Great Italian spread for lunch

One of the best pizza restaurants in Adelaide city. True Italian style, with fresh pizza base made everyday. Great friendly service, very personable staff!

    Yum!

Just didn't love it I'm afraid. I found the service rushed and the pizza bland and expensive. Sorry mates, just not my bag.

I got the duck special which was ok. I felt it was lacking some flavor. My bf got the carbonara cause he's been dying for a good one in ages since he went to Italy. It sounded like they prepare it the correct way so he ordered it. It was WAAAAAY too salty. Not sure if the salt was from the pancetta, but it tasted more like they added salt in. Do not recommend the carbonara at all.

The service was great - there was no rush for us to leave and we spent hours sitting there and enjoying our food. We ordered antipasto and then three different pastas to share and had them staggered throughout the night so we could fit more food in! We enjoyed the fried sausage meat and bread (MUST HAVE) as well as the tasting plate which was overflowing with delicious offerings. Then we enjoyed gnocchi con pomodoro, penne con salsicce and linguine tutto mare my favourite was the tutto mare (a must for any seafood pasta fan)! We kept our drinks traditional with Bellinis and Chinotto with vodka (apparently its a thing!) Can't wait to head back again and work my way through the menu!

I've dined in their small function room; a teensy little quiet space at the back of the restaurant and also in their restaurant before a night at the theatre and both times I've walked away wondering if I'm going to the same place everyone in Adelaide raves about all the time? Meals are incredible value and a main course will feed 2 people. You can order an entree size of almost everything though (even though that's not mentioned on the menu). Both times I've dined here on a pasta and a risotto dish) I've found the food to be incredibly salty and otherwise pretty plain in flavours. Salt, cheese, and maybe another herb. Little things like undercooked pumpkin in a dish and too few prawns in a risotto were also a bit disappointing. I've dined at quite a few spots that can make a simple napoletana pasta taste like angel's tears but unfortunately I'm yet to be convinced here. The service here is incredibly quick but often feels rushed and a little intense as a result. It's a great place to bring a group as you can actually hear each other even when it is buzzing with theatre of footy goers. Do make sure you book in advance though and don't eat lunch beforehand!

The waitresses are lovely but green as, but who cares with this guy cooking! Brand new cute traditional Italian. This is a proper little authentic Italian restaurant, not a low grade Italian Cafe like most on the Parade. Other than Ambrosini's this is the only other one in the area and as Ambrosini's is Northern Italian I prefer this place (they do dishes from all over Italy). OK, the photo of the 'Nonna' in the marketing is dressed in an Eastern European outfit and I'm pretty sure the chef wasn't Italian (stop press, he's half Italian) but he was sure trained in Italy as this place is like being in Italy and everything is made from scratch not out of a tin like the cafes on the parade. Beware in winter, kitchen isn't ventilated so when you walk out you smell of amazing food! (In spring the doors open) . They now have a license but you can byo $5 per person. The wine by the glass was good. Great flounder, very nice home made pasta, excellent calamari and finely prepared vegetables.

It was served on crisp crusty bread that wasn't the least bit soggy. Next came the roasted capsicum and mozzarella which was prepared with the right amounts of olive oil and balsamic vinegar - neither overpowered the other, but instead did as intended and complemented. Again, a generous serve. The very best was saved for last! Portobello mushrooms with oooey, gooey cheese!! It was tender, generous, and ah-maz-ing!!! I could have eaten it as my main. Oh yum!! My main of pan seared grouper was a chef's special, it was topped with tomato, spices, and a wonderful white wine and butter sauce. It came with a side of pasta topped with marinara - oh, wow, so tasty!! My friends' enjoyed their mains as well. One had Chicken alla Nonna - chicken breast topped with sautéed eggplant, and copious amounts of melted cheese) it came with a fresh dinner salad, another had the stuffed flounder (spinach) it, too, was so tender and fresh it literally melted in the mouth! Finally we celebrated our discovery with a unique take on tiramisu - thin layers of fresh cake, drizzled with coffee liqueur, fresh cream and beautifully presented. Don't walk, run to this little hidden restaurant on Margaret just off of the Parade.

We ended up here by chance after walking to several different spots we found on yelp that sounded good only to find them closed (even when Yelp said they were open). We should have kept looking. We started with the tomato Bruschetta which looked promising when it finally arrived at the table but it was very bland. The pastas arrived a little bit later and they too very very ordinary tasting. My wife's ravioli was a large serving but the sauce was lacking in flavor and seemed like a simple tomato paste. My tortellini with cream sauce was separated when it arrived at the table and even after I added a lot of salt and pepper and about 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese was still lacking in flavor. My son's meat lovers Bbq pizza also tasted like it had come from a can. Coupled with the slow service, this was one of the more disappointing meals we had while in Adelaide. The bright and eager staff overshadowed the drab and bland indoor decoration, but I quickly decided to take my coffee outside where I'd have the pulsing rhythm of the traffic to complement my drink. I ordered my usual long macchiato and I'd barely had time to forget ordering it (as often happens when one sits down and loses oneself in reflections of obscenities hurled by unsavoury characters on bus rides into the city, as had taken place that morning) before it was set in front of me. It has become the trend for some cafés to serve short coffees in little mugs, but part of the macchiato's charm is in its three levels of coffee, milk and froth. That balance of shade and colour needs to be shown off, not hidden behind coloured ceramic. I'm jolly well happy to report that the three levels are displayed proudly here at Passatempo, and that the quality and taste of the coffee is befitting of the appearance. If the name and the Italian flag draped across the menu is no indication, allow me to acknowledge the café's Italian theme. The menu corresponds as you'd expect it to, with a selection of pastas, pizzas, calzones and all the rest. The meals are perhaps a little more expensive than your typical café, approaching the prices you'd find at a restaurant, but the servings are large and take full advantage of plate space. If you're looking for a quick, cheap meal, perhaps it'd be best to tiptoe over to Chinatown's food plaza. If, however, you're sick of the Asian cuisine, Passatempo's a fine alternative.
