Had dinner here with a colleague to discuss some business issues. We picked it because it was close…read moreto both of our homes. I had heard both positive and negative about this place. Nevertheless, none of the negative stuff came into play. We had a really good experience. I found the waitstaff to be very attentive and really nice. The food in my opinion was well prepared and I enjoyed my dish. The place initially wasn't too full and thankfully though we had reserved. It filled up quickly until eventually even Michael Ballack walked in for dinner. I found the atmosphere well executed and due to my positive experience, will definitely be back. Do note that it's a bit on the expensive side but this is to be expected for the area it's located. I still found the pricing fair. Parking is also a bit of an issue. The street tends to be quite full if you come by car. You can get lucky in the side streets but I'd recommend avoiding driving here if you can. Finally, for the summer months, they have an outdoor patio out front but it's a fairly busy street so it may not necessarily be the quietest place to have a meal.

Rio Grande is a local chain of grille houses…read more The Blankenese restaurant has friendly and super efficient staff, but does not feel like a place to spend much time after having had one's fill. The main room feels cramped, and seating is mostly on high tables and high chairs. Food quality is decent at the affordable lunch rate (weekly changing menu that can be viewed on the website; most dishes currently at €7,50), but doesn't hold up to the much higher dinner prices. Ultimately Rio Grande feels like a wannabe Block House, but it isn't as comfortable, nor is the food served on the same level of competence.
