Simple yet charming, Vinoteca Italiana is gives a sense of tradition and a home-cooked feeling. The…read moreingredients seem fresh and the dishes well ordained with the variety of spices and natural colours that are packed within each recipe. The end result may not be enough to be etched in memory forevermore but as can be seen from the photos the presentation was excellent, the food mouth-watering and satisfying on multiple levels. Everything from the starters (even simple bread and olive oil) to the well proportioned mains to the dessert was consistently appetising, safe and becoming. Perhaps offering nothing extraordinary, but everything though ordinary is done extremely well; I find it unlikely that any other local restaurant will be able to rival the high standards of Vinoteca Italiana in this quiet and humble area of South London.

The Wallington Pizza express is an example oif one of the quiet, friendly branches of Pizza Express. The food is good, the service is very good. In the summer there is the option to sit outside (although the view isn't spectacular). Pizza Express in Wallington is an ideal place to go for lunch with work colleagues or at the weekend with a partner. I don't have children but some children were in the restaurant when I visited and they were well catered for by helpful staff.

Very few places in the uk do fresh clams in their vongole. Both food and service was outstanding. This place has only been open for about 3 weeks but if anyone wants a metre long pizza this is the place to go! Highly recommend!

It's been open quite a few months. Part of a small chain. They specialise in customisable pizza…read more They have lots and lots of choices for toppings and for 9gbp you can add as many as you like. That and high temperature fire Owen is their marketing strategy. No wood burning owen, just gas one so I didn't have much faith in the place. On the other hand the area does not have much in terms of great casual restaurants as far as I know so in a desperate move I gave it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered one of their mixes - burner (slightly cheaper and I always assume that the chef has recommended things that go very well together). It was not hot despite the name. On the other hand it did come out very quickly and was piping hot. Great crisp on the sides and super thin in the middle. Spread of ingredients wasn't much to write home about and dough quality wasn't impressive either, they didn't even offer any extra shavings of parmesan or olive oil. On the other hand there was something good in it. I quite enjoyed the pizza, given on a wooden tray. Not a super soft and sophisticated, nor was it Italian (too many ingredients and too big choice of them) but I really liked it. The crust had just the right consistency and it was very enjoyable experience. Easily better than any of the big delivery chains. The place is quite spacious but it has only 4 tables. It got full while I got there, though it seemed to be because of people ordering takeaway. Might be a good place to take your kids as they offer dessert pizzas including Nutella pizza. I'm too conservative for this one. Not sure if they have toilet to be honest, on the other hand Mon - sat there is a Tesco with free toilet a stone throw away. Overall, if you are in Thornton heath and are happy with a slightly loud and somewhat rustic locale, go for it. Pizza won't be best you've ever had but it will be a very good version of your normal pizza.

Burner pizza. Not a great spread and not very Italian but I quite liked it.

The week I was there, I ate there 4 times and here's the scoop: * The pizza was actually pretty good...somewhat like Pizza Hut pizza, but at £3.00 for a small pizza, you can't go wrong. The tandoori chicken pizza was a good choice. * Kebab Roll: 2 Kebabs, chips and drink..£3.50. If you like it spicy, just ask. I'd ask for light on the sauce as it will get a bit messy. * Spicy wings...get at least 4 to pick at. * Burgers...standard, but good. The service was quick and the guy that worked there was patient as I seemed to take forever making up my mind. Surprisingly, they do have a decent amount of vegetarian plates. Two people can easily eat for under £10. If you are Muslim, the food is Halal prepared.
