Osteria Broccaindosso - Tagliatelle Al ragu (2nd of the 3 pasta sampler) and the best I've had yet. The ragu was meaty and really flavorful.

They didn't have any tables outside so we were seated inside. Service (3.5/5): No WiFi unfortunately which isn't great for an international traveler like me. Standard European service. Not terribly friendly and not terribly efficient but I would say they were a bit more attentive than the norm. They did hook us up with some complimentary limoncello shots which was a really nice touch. Ambiance (3.5/5): A little quieter since it's off the beaten path which I like. A pleasant, homey restaurant. Drinks (4.5/5): We shared a bottle of wine. And the aforementioned limoncello shots. Food (4/5): We went with their pasta for two deal where each person gets three different types of pasta that you choose from six or so options. I love getting a variety of dishes so this was a nice way to do it. Not huge portions given the price but still delicious. The dishes were served to us quickly and we got to try some pastas we had never heard of. Overall: When in Bologna, Osteria Broccaindosso makes for a fine choice. It's a 15-minute walk or so from the center of town.

All of the pasta choices were super tasty and very much enjoyed dinner. We tried 3 different wines and they were all also very good. Our main courses ended with tiramisu and apple cakes, which were also delicious. The staff was friendly and spoke enough English to communicate with us. Food came out hot and fast and we very much enjoyed every bit. This restaurant is highly by a group of foodies from Seattle!

Don't be alarmed if you find yourself in this neighborhood in Bologna, Italy. We have found that…read moregraffiti is pretty much everywhere in every major Italian city. We found this little restaurante/pizzeria on Via di Corticella to be charming and the staff was very friendly. They were also very accommodating to two English speaking Americans who knew little of the Italian Language. The waitress brought us two english menus that looked as if they had been stored away for a while, along with an italian/english culinary dictionary to help our understanding of the menu. On advise from a friend, we only ordered the house wine while in Italy. The house wine at this little bistro restaurant is served in a little pitcher and even their red wine is served cold which was very good. It's also extremely affordable. We also tried the salad di mare (seafood salad) and if you're not squeamish about octopi, it is a great option. It was fresh and tasty. We also tried the margarita pizza which is different from American style in that it has no basil or tomatoes. It was also very good. Lastly, we shared the crab ravioli which was awesome. The staff was very nice and friendly and as the other reviewer said...the place is full of italians in this tight little outside (under umbrella) bistro. We have tried many other restaurants from Venice, Florence, Rimini, and Bologna. This one, as minimalistic, unpretentious, and casual as it is, was one of the better ones we tried. The neighborhood looks rough, but we had no problems at all walking around this area.

Service was kind and attentive and we appreciated their sense of humor ! Food wise loved everything we had - the carpaccio was best we have ever had. Did the tris pasta to get different options and we both agreed the lasagna and tagliatelle were our favorites. The broth in the brood was clear and flavorful. Sat outside on a beautiful evening and there were many locals dining with us. Highly recommend.

We were seated in one of the interior rooms which is small but warm and comfy and dominated by a huge wine fridge. They have an excellent wine list and we choose a san giovese wich has their name in the label. Same with the water bottle. That tells you this place has been around a while. That could be a good thing as it means they sustain quality or maybe not. In this case good sign. the wife ordered the steak with rosemary and a side of roasted potatoes (she wanted the fried but this what they have) she also got a salad. I ordered the capallaci a la carbonara. The side dishes were just unbelievably good. Th potatoes were crispy on the edges and soft inside, they were so full of flavor I could not believe it. Possibly th best roasted potatoes I have ever tasted. The side salad was so fresh and tasty just Aragula , carrots, tomatoes with an excellent olive oil but fresh. The salad was bursting with flavor. We ordererd steak all over Tuscany none compared to this. The pasta .... Wow... Al dente but soft filling with an incredible cream sauce and a crispy guanciale that elevated the dish to perfection. The service was impecable. All in all just a fantastic experience

The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the food and wine. The wines are all from the owner's brother vineyard. We had the red and the Prosecco. The red was full bodied. It was an amazing artichoke and cheese concoction with a shredded artichoke salad on the side. The pastas were all very good. The bolognese had tender meat with a tasty sauce. The tortellini in beef broth is also a local winter dish. The tortellini were filled with a nice mixture of beef and cheese with a full bodied beef broth. A simple but delicious dish! I'm usually not a truffle fan but the spaghetti with black truffles had a good balance of truffle flavor without being overpowering. The scalloping with cheese and Parma ham was tasty. The meat was tender, the cheese side decadent and the ham added a bit of salty flavor. We were too full for dessert!
