A new pizza addition to the Shoreditch area. I've visited during Saturday (late) lunchtime to see if it can beat any of my favourite local pizza posts. And I must say this pizza does have a buzz. Apart from six main positions, including one with salmon and capers, or veal meatballs) you can create your own pizza from scratch. The list of ingredients is long, so having them all in front of your eyes definitely helps to decide and is a real fun. You start from the base (the range of choice is impressing and includes gluten and sugar free) and finish with the smallest details like herbs. I went for the pine nuts pesto mozzarella and parmesan topped with fontal (the only cheese out of the 12 on the list I wasn't familiar with), artichokes, portobello mushrooms. They are very generous with the ingredients. The pizza arrived very quickly and was delicious! The base is in the mid thickness range, fluffy and crunchy. I you come with someone who doesn't like pizza (hard to believe there are people like that:), then you have salad options, but the choice is a bit disappointing if you think how many unusual pizza ingredients you can chose from. So here are the usual suspects: Greek salad, Caesar, Nicoise, etc. And if you fancy a pizza for breakfast, you can find it here as well! A big plus for free water for which customers can donate to a charity. Another for dairy free ice cream (apart from cow's milk you can try a few flavours made with goats or almond milk). The whole place has a modern, slightly diner-like feeling. It's spacious and bright. With the current offer of 50% off I was expecting to queue to get in, but it was actually quite empty, which is a shame. I hope the place will be success as their pizza definitely deserves a rave.

Had another great pizza here earlier this week. The toppings were plentiful, and the crust was done to perfection. This is a tasty meal for a great price. Highly recommend.

I wanted to like it more. I really did. It ticks so many boxes for me. It's close to my house, let's you customize your pizza to your heart's content (I love a TON of toppings) and is a fast, casual type of spot (perfect for days you don't want to cook but don't want to pay £££ for a meal). The vibe reminds me of Nando's. Don't know if that was because it was a Friday night when we came in but the crowd was mostly large groups of young 20-somethings. We had a look at the menu and then were greeted by an employee at the end of the line ready to make our pizza. Like other's have said, it's a bit like a Subway or Chipotle set-up. You pick your base and then head down the line choosing which toppings you want. For those that prefer to look to the expertise of PizzaBuzz, they also have ready-made pizza combinations. With so many choices, you can easily rack up a pretty big bill for one pizza. I opted for the Margherita base with spicy sausage, spinach, chestnut mushrooms, organic tomatoes and artichokes which ended up costing £11.45. Adam went with the Etna, consisting of crushed tomato, mozzarella, chicken, n'duja, jalapeno and red onion (£9.65). We decided to also order some burrata (such a sucker for burrata), which had a number of different accompaniments. We opted for heirloom tomatoes and basil. We were hungry so we also decided to get a small Greek salad (£4.25). The salad and burrata were fine. Nothing great but nothing too terrible either - average. The pizzas were thin crust and were freshly cooked in their wood-fired oven. I found them OK/good but nothing special. At that price point, I would expect a bit more. We also both found our pizzas a bit bland. I would rather go to Franco Manca for similar/better pizza at a much lower price. The concept is nice and the ingredients were good quality but the price to deliciousness ratio is off... I would rather pay less for less control of my topping choices.

Creat your own pizza in 5 minutes. Large space with many seatings - came here at 2pm on a weekday and it was almost empty! Big portion for one person so come if you're hungry for a big lunch. I ordered the pre set "goatie". Price range reasonable.

They're also really nice and polite. Over the course of several visits, I tried the sirloin special, the coronation chicken, the chicken escalope, and the chicken/bacon/sweet corn sandwiches. I also tried the scotch eggs. My favorite was the coronation chicken, which I'd never had before (I don't think we have it in the States), but everything I tried was tasty and I'd be happy to have all of them again. The sandwiches are pretty reasonably priced at under £6, which is nice for an area where it's easy to spend the same amount on a cup of coffee and a muffin. I've always been in and out of the shop in just a few minutes, even when it's busy. Their prime lunch traffic seems to come around 12:30 and later; it was pretty empty the 1 time I went at 12. I've always been able to pay with my American bank card without any issues. Definitely recommend this place if you need lunch in the area! They also have breakfast, although I've never tried it.

The food is tasty yet relatively healthy when compared to other fast food options nearby. The decor was also nice - spacious and clean with condiments, utensils and napkins fully stocked for self service. Staff are also nice too. I think it's important to set your expectations. This isn't a boutique high end sushi restaurant in Japan... I honestly wouldn't even call Itsu a sushi restaurant! It's a casual, largely self serve, fast food chain with some sushi on its menu. You can't be expecting a sub £7 sushi box to compare to sushi restaurants which charge that price for a single sashimi or nigiri. I enjoyed Itsu and would gladly visit one of their other chains.

More like a piece of fish on some rice (and no that's not sushi). Real sushi focuses on the type of rice used, the right amount of vinegar on each grain of rice, the moisture level in the rice. The focus on the grip of the chef is immense, as it translates to whether the sushi falls apart or it's too firm. All of these things come together miraculously, and bonded by some wasabi with a gorgeous piece of generous sashimi. That my friend is called sushi. Itsu's sushi was dry, hard, firm. Sashimi was not fresh and started to dis-color. I personally think it's just unfair how London is dominated by all these bad Jap food chains, and ripping the Londonites of great Japanese food experience. We should mourn for that fish even, as it certainly died in vain. Ok I should stop being dramatic. Reality is that we all know if we wanted great Jap food you won't go Itsu, or these equivalent chains. But personally think it felt more like a mock up than real Jap food at all. Not to be harsh, but i don't think consumers should need to pay so much for such quality.
