I can see what the buzz is all about... Oh come on, I had to! No, but seriously, I am fairly impressed. It's clean, quick and does what it says on the tin (so to speak). Grab a menu, either go with a favourite or diy it with their large selection of toppings and sauces, add a drink and then watch it burn (no not actually, but cook nicely in the oven). You're sat with a freshly made pizza within 10 minutes and the quality isn't too bad at all! I opted for the Italian from the favourites menu. The dough wasn't too doughy, there were plenty of toppings (all the Italian hams and rocket), I really liked the mozzarella - very creamy and when brought together with chilli oil and extra black olives, you couldn't really go wrong. It was gone in the next 10. My only negative would be that in comparison to other fast paced pizzerias, the price was a tad high (£11). But, I did enjoy it and I really liked the Doodles on the walls. Watch out for the elephant or should I say bee... Buzzzzz! read more

Meh. Some people rave about this place, but I was left feeling a bit disappointed. Fairly expensive prices, considering how average the pizza was. The base was firm, yet the underneath was covered in 'burnt'. Toppings were nice enough but the pizza lacked flavour. It was build your own, so maybe the problem was my choices. Perhaps other people choose better, and have tastier pizzas. This would have been 2 stars, but I've awarded a bonus star for the Coca-Cola vending machine where you can pour your own cherry Fanta. My friend Lauren & I headed to PizzaBuzz not having been before, but aware that there was going to be pizza, in a sort of "build your own" type scenario - cue me picturing the night ending with a selection of vegetables in my hair; However we weren't the ones physically making the pizza, the hospitable and friendly staff were actually the ones doing the making, whilst we picked which base & toppings we would like. Lauren is coeliac, and you may have remembered me mentioning once or twice that I'm vegan, so we were pretty pleased that gluten free bases were available, as well as a Vegan cheese that the staff spoke very highly of. The regular pizza bases are made using a special blend of flour made with spelt, before being cooking in a wood-fire oven. The topping choices were incredibly extensive and I got slightly over enthusiastic when my pizza was being made. In the end I opted for a Gluten free base with: vegan cheese, black olives, broccoli, red pepper, butternut squash, garlic cherry tomatoes, sweet potato, caramelised onion, and garlic... Aaaand breathe. Due to overloading my pizza with all of the vegetables, it had to be cooked a little longer, meaning the crust of mine was a little crispier than the others on my table, however this didn't detract whatsoever from how good it was. When being presented with my pizza I was a little overwhelmed at the size, before being thankful past Luisa had subconsciously prepared for this - having a small lunch, meaning there was plenty of room to finish it all! Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure of the brand that the Vegan cheese was. I was told it was "free from food" but I've googled excessively (in the hope I could find some to buy in bulk because it tasted DELICIOUS), but I've had no luck! In most "fast food" pizza places, finding a Vegan dessert option is incredibly limited, if not impossible, but PizzaBuzz have a lovely selection of 'Mamoo Ice Cream', and not only does it include three different kinds of sorbet (which I was thrilled to be offered a spoonful of each to try), there's also an almond milk ice cream option - which I had never tried before! It was creamy, vanilla-y, & frankly I couldn't tell the difference between how I remember dairy ice cream to taste - this is definitely the future of ice cream! Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure of the brand that the Vegan cheese was. A new pizza addition to the Shoreditch area. I've visited during Saturday (late) lunchtime to see if it can beat any of my favourite local pizza posts. And I must say this pizza does have a buzz. Apart from six main positions, including one with salmon and capers, or veal meatballs) you can create your own pizza from scratch. The list of ingredients is long, so having them all in front of your eyes definitely helps to decide and is a real fun. You start from the base (the range of choice is impressing and includes gluten and sugar free) and finish with the smallest details like herbs. I went for the pine nuts pesto mozzarella and parmesan topped with fontal (the only cheese out of the 12 on the list I wasn't familiar with), artichokes, portobello mushrooms. They are very generous with the ingredients. The pizza arrived very quickly and was delicious! The base is in the mid thickness range, fluffy and crunchy. I you come with someone who doesn't like pizza (hard to believe there are people like that:), then you have salad options, but the choice is a bit disappointing if you think how many unusual pizza ingredients you can chose from. So here are the usual suspects: Greek salad, Caesar, Nicoise, etc. And if you fancy a pizza for breakfast, you can find it here as well! A big plus for free water for which customers can donate to a charity. Another for dairy free ice cream (apart from cow's milk you can try a few flavours made with goats or almond milk). The whole place has a modern, slightly diner-like feeling. It's spacious and bright. With the current offer of 50% off I was expecting to queue to get in, but it was actually quite empty, which is a shame. If on the off chance you're planning on starting a pizza place, don't. Pizza Buzz has smashed it. You're not going to beat this. Dominoes. Pizza Hut. WTF? Why would you? I would walk 5 miles to this place on the outskirts of Shoreditch rather than order one of those manky disks of nastiness from those places. Pizza Express? The pizzas are palid and mean in comparison to this place. Franco Manca? This place beats your nice pizzas too. And when you factor in the price, it's no contest. Even my beloved Canta Napoli is given a good run for its money by these pizzas. Let me explain the concept (I dread the word but there is one here and it works a treat). Walk in, join the line, order your base, walk the line adding toppings, watch the pizza go into the glorious golden oven. 2 mins later, you have your pizza. Order a delicious fresh salad or burrata to go with. Pay at the till. "Um no sorry, you must have the wrong order. A tenner you say?" and they look at you, look at the ticket, then confirm that you have indeed only to hand over a ten pound note. You are not a crook. You haven't done them over. You don't have to skidaddle quickly hoping they haven't noticed the mistake. Relax and eat in loud, informal surroundings that have been done very cool. The whole thing is brilliant. Other great touches. You can buy the flour that goes to make the pizza. It's their own blend of white and spelt. Home made ice cream. Champers on tap if you want it. Beer, filtered water whose proceeds are donated to charity, home made ice cream. Did I mention that? Well I'm mentioning it again.The list goes on. An app which means you can order the pizza and pick it up, or order from your table. This place is completely on the money.The people who run it are clearly on the money. The young bouncy staff are on the money. It's all on the money. And so little money it is/ Hell, if you just want a simple margherita, it's £4.95. £4.95!!! For that you get a wonderful chewy crust, bright fresh tomato, a lovely non plasticy mozzarella in spades. Delicious. I obviously went further. Verde base, prawns, fresh anchovy. Unctuous fresh pizza, still bubbling, cheese strings stretching from every slice. sorted. For meat lovers, plenty to choose from including merguez sausage or fennel salami. Add veg if you like from the veg section. And choose from a range of cheeses. Can you tell I like this place? It's a revelation. Get down there. Really good pizza place. I'm here right now. Having a work lunch. The pizza is really good. They make it in front of you so you can see exactly what's going on. They cook them in about 5 minutes too so if you're hungry you're in luck!!! They're generous with the toppings and you can easily get a pizza for under £10 with a variety of toppings. They do a few nice drinks, craft beer, craft cider etc. They also have a big Coca Cola freestyle machine. I'm not sure what it does but I just want to play with it... I'm a bit meh about the experience here. The pizza wasn't bad, but not great either. It was pretty mediocre, though I liked the build-your-own element. They have one of those fantastic coke machines where you can pick your flavour and bottomless refills to go with it. However, it kept malfunctioning and they even had to completely reboot it once during the evening. I wanted to like it more. I really did. It ticks so many boxes for me. It's close to my house, let's you customize your pizza to your heart's content (I love a TON of toppings) and is a fast, casual type of spot (perfect for days you don't want to cook but don't want to pay £££ for a meal). The vibe reminds me of Nando's. Don't know if that was because it was a Friday night when we came in but the crowd was mostly large groups of young 20-somethings. We had a look at the menu and then were greeted by an employee at the end of the line ready to make our pizza. Like other's have said, it's a bit like a Subway or Chipotle set-up. You pick your base and then head down the line choosing which toppings you want. For those that prefer to look to the expertise of PizzaBuzz, they also have ready-made pizza combinations. With so many choices, you can easily rack up a pretty big bill for one pizza. I opted for the Margherita base with spicy sausage, spinach, chestnut mushrooms, organic tomatoes and artichokes which ended up costing £11.45. Adam went with the Etna, consisting of crushed tomato, mozzarella, chicken, n'duja, jalapeno and red onion (£9.65). We decided to also order some burrata (such a sucker for burrata), which had a number of different accompaniments. We opted for heirloom tomatoes and basil. We were hungry so we also decided to get a small Greek salad (£4.25). The salad and burrata were fine. Nothing great but nothing too terrible either - average. The pizzas were thin crust and were freshly cooked in their wood-fired oven. I found them OK/good but nothing special. At that price point, I would expect a bit more. We also both found our pizzas a bit bland. I would rather go to Franco Manca for similar/better pizza at a much lower price. The concept is nice and the ingredients were good quality but the price to deliciousness ratio is off... I would rather pay less for less control of my topping choices. read more

I'm surprised to read a few reviews that say the pizza is just "OK". I guess it depends on what kind of pizza you like, but I'm one who appreciates a nice, crisp thin crust, well done, which is what we got. And... as far as the toppings, well, it's a place where you can pick your own, so you can hardly fault the restaurant if you don't like what you picked. Really, it was awesome. Beyond the pizza being good, it's quick, and casually upscale. I didn't feel like a weirdo for bringing in my kids, and they enjoyed it too. If you're American, it's like a nicer version of the Blaze pizza chain, and one of the few places that you're going to get an American style bottomless soda. On top of everything else, they were very nice and patient with us as we went on our last night in London, and paid using an embarrassing amount of coins. So, good people and a good place. read more

This is a pizza gem in Shoreditch tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Moorgate and Liverpool St. And it's cheaper than L'Anima up the road. When ordering, you have a variety of bases, sauces, cheese, and toppings to create your own pizza. Think about going to Subway and seeing all your sandwich toppings behind the sneeze glass, it's like that but with pizza and fresher. Apart from any custom orders, they have specialty pizzas that you can order as well. And all pizzas are 12 in. except for the kids size which is 6 in. (I think). Plus, they embrace technology so you can order your pizza with the Flypay app and have it delivered to your table. Another plus, they sell pizza flour (I think it's the Italian Tipo '00' flour), chili oil and a bunch of other stuff to help you make your own pizza at home. Final plus, they have ice cream made from cow milk, goat milk, and almond milk. All in all, it's worth a trip out here to eat some delicious pizza. read more

Normal disclaimer that I know the owner but I believe they get this concept exactly right. I was only there for a child's private party but you could just sense the quality of the food and attention from the staff.
