If you walk a few steps towards Salita Serbelloni and climb all the way to the top of the stairs and turn left, there's better and cheaper gelato at Gelateria del Borgo.

The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The gelato bar is located right near the entrance to the restaurant and has its' own separate line and entrance, so you don't have to wait in the restaurant line. Not sure if the gelato customers are allowed to sit on the patio tables, but their patio provides the most beautiful view of Lake Como! It's literally tucked away between those lovely cobblestone hills. I walked past La Dolce Vita while I was doing some sightseeing in Bellagio and had to circle back around. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The setup was a cozy and intimate white table cloth affair. They sat me behind the kitchen and I had a wonderful view of the chef prepping the orders. Pizza, pizza, pizza! This is why you should come here. And for the wine of course too! I can't forget about that... (wink wink). They have an extensive list of pizza combinations here which made it even tougher for me because they all sounded fantastic. Ended up going with their Diavola pizza which consists of mozzarella and spicy salami with tomato sauce. I had a glass of Chianti Classico to wash it all down with. When this pizza made it to my table, I could feel my face light up in pure joy. It looked so gorgeous and smelled even better! AND... you wanna know something else?! It tasted FANTASTIC! So much so that I ate the entire thing even though I was desperately full only halfway through. But when in Italy... ya know. You just gotta do that sh!t! But anyways, back to that pizza. It was marvelous. The perfect amount of cheese, meat, sauce, and even grease! I loved how thin it was. I was definitely using a fork and knife to slay this baby, and I can't even remember a time when I've done that before. The flavors were just.... Mmmmm. Italians... yep. The seafood pasta had an interesting shape and it was pretty fun to eat. They were also really generous with their portion sizes and the amount of seafood and meat they served in each dish. I wanted to love the octopus but I felt like the purée served with it didn't complement it well enough, but the octopus itself was cooked perfectly! Service was great.
