I couldn't believe how fast the food came. Can't wait to come back and try a different dish and pizza because I know they'll leave me speechless again!

I dined there today with a party of six and was initially impressed by the prompt attention paid by the front of house staff and the greeting they gave. The table was placed in the window and although it was a round table it seemed fairly obvious to me that it would be a bit of a struggle for room once we filled it up with drinks and dishes - and so it proved. I would have thought this was fairly obvious to staff as more items were brought across to us, but they never took the opportunity to remove the items surplus to requirements on there, meaning we were left to shuffle glasses and plates around. This small issue aside I am very positive about the overall experience I enjoyed. The choice of food was good and as they opened up many dishes to be taken as either a 'starter' or 'main' portion it meant there was a wide choice of dishes to try. Starters were in the region of £5 and mains were generally around the £10 mark, slightly more if you went for the steak or fish dishes. The furnishings were smart and it was pleasing atmosphere to sit in and enjoy a good well cooked meal with friends and family.

The serving staff were great - memorable was Poppy with the long red hair who served us both nights. Friendly, cheerful and attentive. The food was good, the prices were excellent. I wouldn't say "gastro pub" but I would say - a darned good pub with good food and great service at attractive prices - and it is really hard to beat that combination! Will we be back? To the hotel and the Cock and Hoop - yes for sure!! Two thumbs up

I dined in & ordered room service mainly but everything was delivered to me a timely manner no over extended waits considering that they serviced the hotel I was staying at too. I ordered the full vegan in the picture but throughout my stay I had other food options from the menu they all were good! I loved that they had vegan options so anyone who doesn't eat meat can order food & not have to be so worried about what's being put into their bodies. Some honorable mentions lol Porridge, the breakfast bar, burger w/ bacon , eggs & bacon, also fish w/ potato's & spinach, & a few other items from the breakfast menu. Definitely recommend!

The menu is ok, it has something for everyone, seems to be a cross being Zizzi's Pizza Express and Prezo with the added options of items from the grill. I decided to go for the buttermilk deep fried chicken thinking that I would get grey meat, two thighs or something along those lines which has been deep fired in a seasoned flour, what I go was flatted chicken breast filet which was very dry and had next to no taste, seems the seasoning from the flour was missing altogether, my meal also came with the strangest coleslaw I have ever had it was basically pickled cabbage and onion and the fried sweet potato was poor, the fries were soggy not crispy. So on the hole my choice was a poor one. The wife went for the wild boar pizza which was very nice and on the standard on a pizza you would get from Prezo, Pizza Express or Zizzi's. On the whole wildwood is ok but but the menu is not the best and what you seems worthwhile ordering you can get for the same price elsewhere, but if you want to try somewhere different give it a go.

Me and my boyfriend were wandering around Nottingham City Centre looking for somewhere to go for a…read moremeal, we wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been to before but where the food was a little different from our usual places. He was drawn in by the massive sign saying "Grills, Pasta, Pizza" and I was a bit hesitant at first but after glancing at the menu we decided to try it. And I can honestly say it was the best decision I've made all year! I was initially put off by the decor but once inside I realised how nice and simplistic it is. Has a very old fashioned railway feel to it however it can be a little misleading, whenever I'd walked past it before I thought it looked like it wasn't finished being decorated and that no one was ever inside. The truth is I think it was the high ceilings that give it this impression. Anyway, we were served by someone called Nico I think (according to the receipt) and he was lovely, always made sure we were happy with our food and asked if we wanted recommendations, had lots of knowledge about the menu and extremely helpful. The theme of the restaurant is Italian but with a slight twist. We decided to have a starter which is unusual for us but we decided to share it between us so we wouldn't be too full. We had meatballs in tomato sauce with cheese and I have to say, I never knew meatballs could taste so good. I could have easily eaten a whole meal size of just that, the meatballs fell apart in your mouth and the sauce and cheese were both gorgeous. We were actually regretting only ordering one portion! My boyfriend then ordered Cannelloni with meatballs in bechamel sauce with Nico's recommendation and also told us what the ingredients were as we'd never heard of bechamel sauce before. I ordered a pizza that had peri peri chicken, mushrooms and rosemary. I was a little reluctant at first as I'm not really one for herbs but it was very subtle, not at all overwhelming and I was just sad that I couldn't eat more of it! I tried my boyfriend's cannelloni too and it was fantastic, and I'm not really keen on creamy dishes. One thing that I really liked was that even before our meals came, Nico gave us an extra plate as I think he'd gathered that we liked to share our food. We didn't even have to ask for one, it's nice having waiting staff that use their initiative. The only thing that I didn't like was that I didn't have room for dessert as the dessert menu looked fantastic! There was a really good variation, most restaurants have all similar desserts and a small selection but Wildwood had a fair few to choose from, it took us long enough just to choose our mains because everything looked so good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic too, everyone seemed really happy with their food and the restaurant itself is quite long so there were room for bigger parties. I think the only slight downside was our table was a little too small, I'd have liked a little more space but it wasn't something that was a major inconvenience. We had a good view into the kitchen too and it looked beautiful and well organised, you could see they had a good rhythm going and no one was getting stressed, all the staff seemed very happy which was nice to see. Overall we had one starter, 2 meals and one drink each for just over £35 which is an absolute steal considering the quality of the food. I've been recommending the restaurant to everyone I know and me and my boyfriend have said we'll definitely go again and want to make it a regular thing as we were disappointed we were too full to have dessert and we want to try everything on the menu!

This restaurant was Carluccio's, the reason my family and I went to this restaurant was because we went to one in Nottingham and we loved it, today when we arrived we were greeted by a man who was very cheerful and escorted us to our table as we had booked the day before and he said "You wouldn't wanted to have been here one hour earlier it was packed full of people!". So when we ordered we had a game of cards and then about 5 - 7 minutes our starters arrived I chose garlic bread as I knew my main course would fill me up, when my main course arrived I was amazed how big it was and was glad I ordered garlic bread, the main course I ordered was chicken Milanese and I was astounded how well cooked it was along with some pasta as I dislike tomatoes. I didn't have dessert as I was full from my main course. Great restaurant brilliant staff, good car parking across the street, 5 stars

Appetizers were good and they allowed two of us to split a carbonara as an appetizer...nice service. Unfortunately, and for the 3rd time, they had "run out" of swordfish despite accepting my order. The alternative offered was OK (turbot) but over breaded...I tasted more coating than fish which was supposed to be the main element. The others in my party had Chicken Milanese which was very good. But then they'd run out of coffee ice cream (fresh stuff fine but ice cream?) They clearly have cut inventory to the minimum so be prepared for missing items. Finally, and this is somewhat picky, they took a true classic, Canolis, and ruined them by trying to be fancy and just coming off as pretentious. Canolis do not ever need chocolate in the pastry or weird candied fruit; they are a simple delectable treat...these were well cooked but ruined. Overall a decent place but I've had better.
