Colosseo is in my top 5 restaurants in Garmisch. Maybe nostalgia from when we lived here years ago, but all the same it's a family favorite. Pizza is delicious! Pasta is hearty. Bruschetta honestly needed some love and was a disappointment, but not enough to ruin our meal!. Service is good, we were seated immediately, checked on timely. A solid Italian restaurant in Garmisch. Great Pizza and lots of non pizza items as well. I always eat here at least once while I'm in town.

We had the Buffalo Caprese appetizer and could not get over how good it was. The ham was so soft and added a great salt flavor to the amazing tomatoes and cheese. Then we had the 4 cheese pizza and the Macaroni allá primavera. This was the best pasta I've had outside Italy; so good! The pizza was delicious. We loved it. The servers were friendly, professional and spoke great English (wish I could speak better German). We loved everything about it! I would 100% come back. We actually came off the recommendation of a friend and now we will pass it on!!! read more

I've seen the Colosseo many times traveling through Garmisch. I decided for something quick so ordered a pizza which was OK. However, the service not so good for more of what I'd call a resort town. All in all, the value was good and if you don't carry high expectations, you won't be disappointed. read more

Great pizza and pasta place in the centre of the city. Very authentic dishes and friendly stuff. They also have a very nice patio area which is great to enjoy the weather and the view on the Alps. We've been to the place twice two days in a row, as the food definitely didn't disappoint. They have a great selection of both pizzas and pastas for every taste. We also tried the homemade tiramisu, which was quite delicious. Definitely recommended! read more

We visited Garmisch about six years ago and rated Colosseo our #2 of 3 local Italian restaurants .. this go round (and yes, we ate at the original #1 this trip) they are an easy #1. Just look at my three check ins over the course of five days! Their pizza is seriously some of the best I've ever had .. lovely thin crust, and huge! Thankfully, with that thin crust, you can cram the entire thing in like I did .. embarrassed to say I couldn't stop. Salads, pastas, pizzas, desserts .. food.dance .. Okay .. I will acknowledge the service is a bit brusque. Not rude, not inattentive, but brusque. We were okay with that. Had zero effect on the food, or our overall experience. Hands down best Italian in town .. and y'all know I'm Italian in every country!! read more

This place was fantastic. My wife and I went for an appetizer and desert. We shared a bruschetta, easily the best I've ever had. I'm not a bruschetta Guru, but needless to say it was spot on. We each had our own tiramisu and loved that as well. The environment was great as well, nice and cozy with beautiful mountain views. If you are in the area, you should definitely stop by. read more

Good hand tossed flat pizza. also had the pumpkin soup which was my first. it hd a nice balance of vinaigrette. The rigatoni was nicely done with a tomato cream sauce but there was not enough meat or mushrooms. My husband had the gnocchi which was not too dense and tasted lovely with the tomato sauce. we went on a Sat and did not have reservations and were lucky to get seated. It was about 7pm and we sat at the 8 o'clock reserved table. read more

very reliable, central location, awe inspiring balcony views of the mountains... I have come here at least 10 times..... the interior is well lit and neat. the staff is mostly Italian (good sign) and friendly, and they are open 7 days a week. This is probably one the 3 most popular restauranst in GAP, however it is quite large so you mostly do not need a reservation unless it is high season weekend... prices are fair (pizzas start under 6 euros) and the menu is extensive. I recommend the Pizza Salumi or ordering off the fresh pasta menu. The house Chianti is the solid. Unquestionable the best vistas the GAP. Come for a glass with a view at sunset. read more

Great little restaurant! I ordered pasta and loved it. Most of my group ordered pizza and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their meal. It was very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of food that we got. The one negative that I have to add is about the service. Our waiter was very nice, but it was often difficult to get his attention when we needed something. Also, some members of our group had their food come out well after the rest of us began eating - probably 15 minutes or so later. I was actually done with my meal before some of the food was out. We did have a large group (probably about 15-18), but that still seemed very odd to me. Overall, I would definitely recommend Colosseo, especially if you're not with a larger group. read more

This is one of our favorite places to go... the pizza is fabulous. It's arguably one of the best pizza places in town. The pizza is thin crust and they have about every combination of toppings that you might want. When the weather is nice, we sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the view of the breathtaking landscape. The lasagna is good, the gnocchi is not and the mushroom risotto was fantastic. Some tasty pizza in the middle of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. There's parking on the street and the restaurant is up a flight of stairs. Pizza is large and appears to be wood fired with a crisp, thin crust and there are lots of options as far as toppings. read more

I don't drink beer and I'm a picky meat eater so a week in Garmisch had me craving some variety (of the italian kind). The weather was gorgeous and we decided to walk a good 30 min to this place and it was well worth the walk! The caprese salad and bruschetta were a great starter, the mozzarella was fresh, the pizza was delicious (and note: those pizzas are HUGE!). All 6 other guests with me enjoyed their various dishes so it's fair to say that everything on their very extensive menu is worth a try. Finally, it's worthy to mention that our waiter was amazing - he was very attentive, took care of us from beginning to end, and was patient even though we were a big group. I don't know what the tip standards are - I think the people with me tipped 10% or so but he was so great that I tipped him more than 20%. If I had more euros on me, I'd have tipped 50%. I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Garmisch. Tip: remember to save room for the delicious dessert and espresso. read more

We are here last night and are considering again tonight! The Montepulciano wine was delicious with our bruschetta. The tomatoes, cheese and basil were fresh! I had the seafood risotto with great mussels and shrimp and other seafood. It was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Bolognese and loved it!
