Great pizza and cold beer! The outdoor seating was cool and intimate even with an 80 degree day. Servers were friendly and attentive. I recommend this Italian restaurant in Fussen! This place was difficult to find but definitely a hidden gem in the Fussen neighborhood.One of the best meals of our Germany trip. Excellent service and food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a pizza, a pasta dish and a salad and were good enough to feed 4 people. Including the beer our check came out to be less than 30 Euro...that's usually how much we spend for one person in NYC! read more

One of the best meals we've had in Germany funny enough. Dishes were reasonably priced compared to most restaurants both in Munich and Füssen. It was so good we decided to come back the next day for dinner. The first visit we ordered one seafood linguini pasta and one tricolore pizza(tomato, spinach and mozzarella). The second visit we shared one rocket salad and one pizza (ham, artichoke, mushrooms, and paprika peppers). The ham was thin and cooked perfectly on top and their pizza crust was thin, crispy, and chewy. The pizzas were our favorite part and I'd recommend any of them with spinach and/or ham. Perfect portion for two people to share as well! And to top it all off they are one of the few places in town that takes card, not just cash, so you can save your euro cash for street vendors. read more

My wife and I came here based on a recommendation by someone who lives locally. I had the pizza, it was quite good. My wife had the risotto with shrimp, tomatoes, zucchini, and white wine sauce. She said it was a top 3 all time dish of food she had ever had. As Americans, we are used to service that is a bit more attentive than in Germany. We had intended to have dessert, but they were so busy, that by the time hey finally came to take a desert order, we where ready to head out, as it was fairly late. As long as you come with a bit of patience, I think you will be very pleased with the food. read more

A local recommended this place. We were lucky. They have nice outside seating. The service was very nice, friendly and the restaurants accommodated all our special requests!!! We had the small appetiser (with fresh seared chanterelle mushrooms as special request), gnocchi with tomato sauce, rigatoni all'arrabiata and a pizza (again with special requests), 5 glasses of wine and an aperitif. Stumbled on this when looking outdoor dining. Excellent Italian food. Pizza was huge. Spicy penne was delicious. Just the right kick of spice, huge serving. Mixed salad was fresh and great compliment. Spaghetti and large salads at surrounding tables looked excellent also. Staff were extremely friendly. Located in the "Passage" a friend and local whose family previously owned and operated a pizzeria here in Füssen recommended this place. I was very surprised by how beautiful it was inside. The atmosphere is very classy yet cozy. The menu was authentic and contained many dished that appealed to me with prices to suit every budget from a totally normally priced and very delicious pizza to meat and fish dishes at the higher end of the scale. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. I will definitely return to this place, especially in the summer because they have outdoor seating. read more

Great little find! Delicious, fresh, filling, and a good break from all the delicious German food we've been eating. We had the bruschetta for an appetizer (the most fresh bruschetta I've ever tasted!), the chef recommendation for the main course, spinach and ricotta stuffed tortellini, and a coffee filled ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious! My husband also had a glass of red wine and chocolate soufflé with his meal, and loved those as well. Michelangelo is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at! Walking in, we were immediately seated in a comfy corner with a booth. Surrounded by enticing decor and beautiful paintings, we were given out menus. The menu was large and very vegetarian/vegan friendly. The menu also has English translations which was very helpful for our group. At the beginning of the menu, there is a list of Italian phrases, providing a fun activity during our meal. We were promptly served water and appetizers by our very tolerant(no one in our party spoke German) and friendly server. We used our newly learned Italian phrases with him! When our food came, fast I might add, everything was spectacular. My pasta was seasoned incredibly, as so was everyone else's meal. We also got a pizza for the table, with a crunchy, yummy, thin crust, and flavorful sauce. With very reasonable prices, friendly and attentive service, amazing food, and authentic decor, this restaurant is sure to wow you too! read more

I went to Michelangelo because there are only two restaurants in Fussen with 4+ stars and over 20 reviewers. I personally do not trust the starts when the reviewers number are less than 20. The deco is plain; they tried. The food is artistically fashioned. The chef does pay attention to the look and makes efforts on it. The taste, at the first, are rather good but I think the sauce are too strong. Too much black vinegar on both salad and the beef. If it is less, I bet it will taste fantastic. However, this meal is way better than two dinners I took in Berlin and Munich. One is so-so, the other is terrible. It's worth to pay a visit; well, there are only two with 4+ start reputation. We were traveling in Bavaria over the New Years holidays and we were rather tired of being stuck with sausages and sauerkraut every night with laminated pictorial menus. Our hotel recommended that we check Michelangelo's out. We went there in the evening after the day trippers left town. We don't speak a lick of German and they didn't have an English menu--but no worry! Since the names of all the food were in Italian, we were quite familiar with what things were and it worked out perfect. Our waiter was from Italy and also spoke Spanish--and we know some Spanish. The four of us had a blast with our waiter, he was kind to us and we felt welcomed. Food was great. We did arugula salads (I think they are "rucola salat" salad and with sounding out the German words we did just fine) as starters and three different pastas and the gnocchi. Pizzas looked good from afar, but since we are from Chicagoland--big pizza city, we normally don't order that when traveling. I think most of the diners there were locals, which is the best sign for a good restaurant. read more

Based on the yelp reviews, we wanted to try this place. We've been eating lots of traditional German food (which we love!), but we were ready to take a break, and Italian sounded perfect. The first time we looked for it, we couldn't find it based on the yelp directions. It was actually located down a side street beside City Kebab. But once we made it there the second time, we were so glad we did! I got the gnocchi al salmone and my mom had the gnocchi vegetaria. They were two of the best dishes we have ever had. Ever. Absolutely amazing! My sister and dad also had pasta dishes that were delicious, but maybe not quite as good. There were also tons of pizza options on the menu that looked really great! The service was slow, but it always is over here compared to American restaurants. We sat inside, but our waiter offered to move us outside once a table opened up, which was nice, even though we declined. We all had wine and split a dessert, and when our waiter brought the check, he gave each of us a small glass with sorbet, which was so good and an excellent way to end such a memorable dinner! Prices were also pretty good! Overall, this was our favorite meal so far in our vacation, so I would very highly recommend it!!! read more
