Ah, found it! If you…read morepeep the photos, you'll see lots of smiling people enjoying beautiful Italian weather, the island of Ischia, fresh seafood, all the goodness. We visited in November. We were lucky to find them open. They were cooking up delivery pizza, and they welcomed us inside, we were the only guests. The owner was kind, I ordered an amaro, we were told the menu was limited to pizza, that day. Well, we'd heard a thing or two about the Italian's pizza expertise, so we went for it, our first -- and one of the most memorable -- pizza sessions of our stay, on or off the mainland. This is just my take, but seems to me most Italian restaurants get the whole Napolitan recipe right. The secret to marvelous pie is forking into the whole thing as soon as it comes outta the oven, like, as close to burn-your-tongue as possible. And I'm pretty sure the owner was extra attentive to the random American stragglers who wandered into his place in November. He wowed us. Unforgettable.

Family owned and run. The hosts were welcoming, offered great dish selections, and made sure we…read moreleft VERY full. Fish was excellent, pastas were spectacular, and the tomato fried pizza was amazing!! Make sure you ask for seats in the front of the restaurant. The ones in the back are not great, So we asked to be reseated...

The pastry chef made what I call nuns nipples dessert that was over the top! Linguine Vongole authentico. The setting was right on the water. The dining room was beautifully accommodated with table cloths and open windows and breeze. We actually ate three dinners in a row trying a lot of their items. It review is in 2026! Maybe things have changed from the last review. Nobody was review everybody was helping us and accommodating any of our needs. Give it a go.

They were also extremely gracious and accepting of foreigners even though their main clientele were locals (AMAZING LEMON CHELLO). The waitress at II Galenone who was working March 11th around 7:30-8pm came to us and the second she realized we were American she stopped trying to take our order even though we were pointing out items on their menu she proceed to go to another member of the staff and very vocally and with her mannerisms expressed that she did not want to serve us. At the time we were literally the only customers in the entire restaurant. The gentleman was very nice and tried his best to serve us but the damage was done my wife had already notice the woman's reaction and was no longer comfortable. The woman continued to freeze us out no matter how nice we were but was extremely friendly with all locals coming in. She wasn't having a bad night she specifically had a problem with us and made that very well known. The pizza we ordered to go was very tasty. Even though the gentleman asked if we wanted it cut, and we let him know yes as tourists we needed it cut, (we were taking it back to our room) when she brought it back both were whole pizzas not sliced. Incredibly rude and although the pizza was great, the gentleman seemed more concerned with flirting with the rude waitress than anything. Please not we started with Italian and spoke our best it was not a case of A-hole Americans trying to instantly speak English, we were pointing at their menu for Christ sake how hard is that!!!! Made a night on my honeymoon worse and wish we have never went.
