In Grado one is never in danger of running out of places to eat a pizza. Though I don't often eat pizza, one night recently I wanted to try what they call a Pizza Vienna. Since Lo Scoiattolo is right in the center of Grado and serves Pizza Vienna which is basically a plain pizza with wurst slices, that's where I went. Their outdoor café is pleasant enough but I don't have much else that positive to say. The pizza was bland - the wurst they used had absolutely little spice or flavor and even worse the pizza crust was really chewy. Oh well. The same owner has a Sicilian bakery across the street so I did pick up a ricotta cannolli for desert which was decent. Lo Scoiattolo is the Italian word for squirrel. Why this Pizzeria/Trattoria is so named, I have no idea ... and I'm not sure I want to know! read more
